This song referring a Japanese anime "Devilman crybaby", that's why they used the anime as the song cover and music video. Tho is a very different taste but I think this is a masterpiece and I love it.
Just wanted to update more info about this song while I dig into Tom Byrne's (Galleons' vocalist) ig post when Crybaby is out:
Stoked to finally have this one out in the world. It was written about 2 years ago now which is wild. Can't say enough good things about what Andrew brought to this song and hopefully we get to work on something again in the future.
Honestly, this didn't start out as a Devilman song, as I was writing he earlier parts at least. I was going through a bit of a depressive slump, so I decided to watch Devilman Crybaby again and that somehow gave me a way to put how I was feeling into words, but at the same time I was just writing about what I was watching. Tends to happen a lot. Hope you enjoy it anyway!

People should check out Valiant Hearts. It's the same vocalist and I prefer that band so much as a big vocals and Jonny Craig fan. Although both of them are dope.

Galleons goes hard, metropolis is one of my favorite songs. That scratched that emarosa itch when emarosa fell off. Their vocalist has incredible covers to you should check them out! He kills jonny craid style vocals!
Check out his other band Valiant Hearts. I prefer them. If you like JC and Emarosa (JC's my favourite vocalist) you'll like Valiant Hearts.
Valiant Hearts also has a Jonny Craig feature.
Metropolis is also one of my favorite galleons songs
I was talking with Tom and i told him violent delights takes me back to the metropolis era of galleons, and he said that’s what they were trying to achieve, wanted to pay homage to that album, and a little bit from the self titled.
First verse is Tom singing. You can hear the aussie accent peaking thru.

Actually the first song i've heard by these guys. Valiant Hearts is just as good as Galleons, literally every song is amazing. highly recommend

God this music video is so incredible, I LOVE the devilman crybaby reference, it's really stunning! for once I have to disagree with your take on the video, I think it fits the song perfectly, both have an air of desperation

Funny that you say the video had nothing to do with the song when the song is a direct call to the anime that was featured, but i get it tbh not for everyone lol. Agreed with basically everything else though this song banged.

Spotify recommended Galleons to me after listening to Valiant Hearts. Both bands are great & I listen to them every time i take my dog for a walk or need a burst of energy. Hard to not dance to it while being outside. 😅 Agree about the music video, it wasn't what I expected, wasn't excited, didn't fit together with the song imo.
You have to be familiar with devilman. Makes complete sense if you’re familiar with the anime.
