I think it is very unique that the show ends with a toast! I’ve never seen any show do that before! That’s what makes hadestown even more special ^_^

I love how you can tell Eva is trying to stay in character even during the speeches but she breaks ever so slightly cause her show won a freaking tony!!!!! I love it!

Literally the most moving theatrical experience I have ever had dating back to the late 60s. Ben Platt in "Evan Hansen" will always be the best thing I've ever seen but on the whole, for meaningful and art, "Hadestown" is by far the greatest. The show is still with me everyday a month later and I can't get what it says out of my mind. The music is stuck in my ears. Just an amazing achievement. Mitchell is a genius I think.

I wish I could see it. Going to New York in August, maybe I’ll be able to score a lucky seat, but I doubt it.
@@free_siobhan you might if you are going to be in NY! ! They have same day rush tickets now at the theater box office I believe. Check stub hub and ticketmaster close to show times too. Anyone else have other ideas? Would tkts booth have any tix at all for this?
I might see it for my birthday but it most likely won’t be the OGs. But if André De Shields isn’t there I will hurl myself from the upper seats

Depends on how detailed they want it as the liquid is never seen. So could be water, could be sparkling water or could well be an imitation alcohol made from burnt sugar.
Elspeth g amber has said it is water and she prefers it to be warm....
