You people acting like the government is doing the job? 😢 The government doesn't have the funds to build a new airport that is the reason the PJ Patterson Administration privatized the Donald Sangster International Airport in 2003. The Airport is under 30 years concession agreement.

Who remember when they were dumping up the land to expand it to what we have today, we've come a long way and still going strong. Kudos to the visionaries.

They new to tear down this ageing main terminal building from the 1950s and give Jamaica a modern MIA/LAX styled edifice....

@@karlhenry2328 there are some 11 new gates built in a new terminal to the east. There is also the unused old charter terminal. MBJ needs a second full scale terminal anyway...so one should be built around the base of the new control tower (before using that space to accommodate the inflow of passengers while the aging building from the 1950s is demolished/rebuilt...

It is good and fine to tear the current building but the improvement fee will have to go up and that means the cost.ofmplane ticket is going to go up. Is this guy will to pay more sknthey can raise the money to pay for this modern building that he wants

We still own the airport, it's just that the government leased it to a mexican company who will be in charge of operations and future upgrades
