I was obsessed with this movie growing up and I just found out today that Joaquin Phoenix is in it.

Joaquins voice is so recognizable and somehow never thought it could be him, voicing a character from my favourite movie ever, like the heck.
I love this movie plus Joaquin Phoenix knew how to bring Kenai to life. And give Kenai the right voice this is one of my favorite movies.
I totally agree. His voice performance was more recognizable and better than Patrick's voice as Kenai in Brother Bear 2. He wasn't bad at all, but Joaquin Phoenix did a vocal performance that was incredible and made it his own in a unique way.

I'm 36 and I still watch Disney movies and probably will till the day I die.
That's what bugs me about some people they act like just because you become an adult you have to stop watching cartoons and disney movies.
There's no law saying just because you grow up you have to stop watching these things. Now if you want to stop watching cartoons & Disney movies that's your decision but there's no expiration date on when you have to stop watching these things.

I loved and still love hearing Kenai’s voice. And never in my life did I think it was Joaquin Phoenix playing as Kenai’s voice. Shows how much you learn as you figure out who did the voices for your childhood heroes. Now, the one thing besides Kenai trying to get free by getting the stick and hearing Koda talk for hours was the fact that when Kenai thought Koda was just a dumb bear, Koda figured out how to get free from the trap in just a few seconds.

This movie was my first introduction to Joaquin Phoenix i then watched Gladiator, Walk the Line, Her and Joker. Ever since then I fell in love with his work and his voice 💙
I watched this movie as a kid and never knew it was Joaquin. It was only years later when I started getting into his filmography that I realised it was him in this role.
I love Joaquin's voice very much.
It was wasn't for Brother bear I would had never heard of Joaquin Phoenix at all. But I think if it wasn't for Joaquin Phoenix playing Commodus in gladiator Joaquin Phoenix wouldn't had been the voice of Kenai at all. So glad Joaquin Phoenix did this he just nail Kenai so well.

Koda is so cute kenai is so awesome. But my favorite was always Tanana she is so kind and caring. I believe next to Sitka she believed in kenai from the start. I also think she like a mother figure to Kenai one he care for but his also afraid of. If you notice after Tanana throw her shoes Kenai pull himself back like he's both scared and knew what was coming.

Kenai human form is cute even though we don't get to see much. Only for about 25 minutes before Kenai turns into a bear. But I'm not complaining his bear from is cute too. I love how Kenai got a bit of darker brown around his eyes, ears, both his legs, and on his stomach.

yes, they are CARTOON BEARS, but I find it beautiful that he's simply BEING a brother instead of playing a brother. He's so good as Kenai because it's so natural for him. You could hear it in his voice in the softer moments. He must have missed River so much while recording this...

My 11 year old cousin is the sweetest, kindest soul you'll ever meet but gets a very tough education at home so when you try to love him softly he gets scared because he's not used to warmth, but that's exactly why I tell him I love him and hug him every time I see him, because I know he's looking for that connection but doesn't know how to ask for it. Try it with your brother, it'll pay off.

I read somewhere that Joaquin doesn't like being included in sequels. So maybe that's why?
