Also it just became hyper violent out of nowhere, which adds to the enjoyment. I remember being mad that these movies were making billions when I was young, but looking back i am so glad that these lunatic movies were so big. Honestly these movies are more entertaining than most of the superhero movies nowadays

There was already tension to add to that, but that is what the breaking point was. Being imprinted on is not what people are thinking. that is not what it was about. it is a spiritual bond that is not sexual in nature. To say it was EDP kind of thing is wrong (based on what chat was saying). They made it clear in the book that Edward would have killed Jacob if that is what it meant.
