I learned the word vertiport two weeks ago. It dawned on me that it is more desirable to have this vertiport concept incorporated into our Roadhouse Troika, an Eat-Charge-Shop solution featuring with a vertical wireless charging structure annexed with a burger store and a C-store.
FAA , NASA and eVTOL industry leaders may think a vertiport must be built on the rooftop of a high-rise building or retrofit a heliport, which I think is way short of innovation.
Rooftops are not desirable in view of noises, mechanical humming vibrations, multimodal conveniences and a growing tendency of remote working.
Mass adoption of EVs will be either the weakest or strongest link in the chain of UAM/AAM vertiports, depending on the interdependence of eVTOL and EVs.
McKinsey categorizes a vertiport into Vertihub, Vertibase and Vertipad, depending on sizes.
It is my belief that a vertiport must be symbiotically annexed with a vertical EV charging structure, which requires 5% of the land used for plug-in charging and comply with minimalism.
