    • @rtjourneys
      @rtjourneys Před 22 dny +2

      Many won’t. What’s even crazier is most of the orders that come through small are mostly just customer tips with like a dollar or two base pay. Yes it gets that bad. So imagine when nobody tips just how small it is all the time. I know many are like, I’m not taking small orders because they believe it’s non-tippers but I have found that’s not always the case. It has ended up being that DoorDash decided to pay very small for that base pay. So the customer is left thinking, I tipped the driver not sure why it would not be picked up?? Either way still not a good pick up but there you go.

    Everyone needs to understand one thing. These corporations don't want you to make money. They need an army of broke and hungry drivers trying to survive one day at a time.
    Drivers are disposable and easily replaceable.
    They don't have any problems delivering good orders. They create all of those high AR tiers with just one goal - delivering every $2 order there is. A $2 order doesn't necessarily mean it's a small order an DD is getting every penny in their fees they charge a merchant and customers. DD doesn't give a squat about you driving 12 miles for $2. Paying customers and shareholders is their priority period!

    This is why I quit DD and switched to Spark. Much better pay and low low mileage, or in my area anyway. And they don’t care about ratings so I decline anytime that isn’t $3.00 or plus per mile. Now, I feel relaxed and not stressed out. I did 8 deliveries today and made $241.81 and didn’t start until 12:30, took a break from 4-5, started back at 5:10 till 8. Only drove 52 miles today! Last week, I made $918 working 5 days and put just a little over 300 miles on my car. Week before last, I worked 4 days and made over $600.
    So much easier, and much better money.

They also are not micromanaged as bad as far as in the moment as you would be on an hourly job. I would say love to be your own boss, but that’s beginning to fade away. These gig apps are basically becoming managers wanting more for little.

Some people may disagree with me, but I only use the new tear system with earn by time and I’m gonna tell you I take advantage of it where everybody’s complains about picking up two dollar orders I have never got one 2 dollar order I know how to take my time with the restaurant. I know the minutes I get to the restaurant I push I’m there and I try to get there quick enough where the food still not made yet and I’m waiting about 10 to 15 minutes I’m making $13 per hour then on top of it maybe some customers don’t tip but when I finally do deliver it I’m pulling about eight dollars per trip and if the customer chips tips, I’m making more

The tear system is not going away just like two dollar orders have never gone away… it’s unfortunate but it’s a business they’re gonna run their business to make the most profit possible regard regardless of whether it’s right or ethical for those of us that work under them. I would say perhaps the best option is to try to influence local legislation and possibly a state level where you live to try and fight for what you think is right for these gig apps.

    The thing about sitting and waiting for something $$ reasonable, never knowing how a day will work out, being treated less than by the companies, merchants and customers, and knowing you're destroying your vehicle which may be the only tangible asset a worker has left will do that. That car goes and you're not prepared to fund a repair or replacement??? Its a really bad setup unless you roll a few hours here and there during busy times. Otherwise, a losing proposition! Sorry. Thats what it turned into. But it proves a person is willing tp work and put in the hours and put up with some real nonsense. So get a regular stable job with benefits.
