    There are Dasher doing the same thing that you’re doing. You just can’t see them. Also there are Dashers that are sitting at 97% and usually a lot more orders under their belt. There are a lot of top dasher out there. I’m part of the platinum program. It has been very hard with a platinum program. I am at 97% and almost 3000 and can barely make it. The reason for this is because there are other Dashers with 100% AR with over 15,000 deliveries they get picked before me.

    • @SideGigGuy
      @SideGigGuy  Před 4 měsíci

      That is true, but you are in the 1%. A majority of dashers have terrible stats, or only doing it once in a while, or don’t get how to make regular money with it.
      Keep up what you are doing, and every so often, experiment with something totally different. For me, I tried earn by time three times and each time was convinced it was a loser. Then I tried it in a more generous tipping zone, and it is now my standard practice.

    That’s not how the algorithm works though, it’s based off your proximity of the restaurant so if there’s people closer they’re getting the order first. Why send the order to someone 5 miles away when there’s someone 1 mile away sitting idle?

    just wondering. would you prefer to deliver an order with $2.50 tip selected off the app, or an order where someone tips $5 cash but none on the app? i prefer to do the second but then people assume i wont tip cash. So I’d rather just save face and tip the bare minimum off the app if it’ll guarantee me better service

    • @SideGigGuy
      @SideGigGuy  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Cash is king, and I would always prefer that. Problem is a lot of drivers just won’t accept that order, because there’s no way for them to know if there’s a cash tip or not.

    Here's something Ive been wondering .. how much does the algorithm get affected on the acceptance rate with canceled orders? I had 90% at one point but this past week I kept getting low balled with 2 dollar deliveries that needed to go across town . I cancel those cause it just ain't worth it. Now I'm at 70 and it feels like I'm getting less deliveries then when I was higher so idk I'm curious if it's related if anyone knows

    • @SideGigGuy
      @SideGigGuy  Před 4 měsíci +1

      DoorDash says it is related, and you can choose to believe them or not. I’ve been in focus groups with them, and have talked to them and asked them bluntly. If what they say is true, and they say yes.
      Back in the day years ago, acceptance rate did not matter nearly as much as it matters today has been my experience. However, the exception is as follows
      If you were in a zone that is always busy like a very urban area, acceptance rate probably does not matter as much because there is always plenty of business.
      Hope that answer helps. I made this video when I lived in Atlanta, which was a very busy area, and even at four in the morning, I could stay moderately busy and make 20 bucks an hour. I’m now in a zone that is much more rural, and is challenging to even deliver 100 deliveries in a month to keep top status.

It’s really hard to get on the app and when you do get on the app you don’t get any good orders do you have to cycle through orders that are coming to you reject the garbage and just take the good ones, it is not well designed and built. They’re still doing referral bonuses like a pyramid scheme everywhere I go I see DoorDash drivers left and right whether it’s cars, bicycles, electric scooters, and even people just sitting in their cars waiting for an order like there’s just too many people.

    STOP referring drivers! The referral program is a scam and only benefits DD. The majority of drivers you refer aren't going to take it super serious and hit the recommended goal of deliveries for you to get your referral bonus anyway. DD knows this and they will win at the end cause they get a FREE DRIVER without having to pay you a referral bonus.

      Thank you for the comment, and your tears of service are appreciated. This video’s purpose was to explain one possible strategy if things are slow.
      When I lived here, this was a 24 hour zone that was very busy, even at 4 am. But it did get low sometimes.
      My strategy was never to sit at one hot spot, but to position myself between three areas that had potential.
      I apologize if that wasn’t clear.
      And you are much more experienced, I only have about 2 years under my belt. DoorDash changes this enough to where I feel like we are all on day 1.
      I can say this, I like aren by time in my zone. Yesterday, every customer tipped, and I made 100 in about 5 hours, breakfast and lunch. Normally, since this isn’t a 24 hour zone, I hit the road at sun up.
      I very much appreciate your comments and insight. Do you have a channel with tips?

      It is a real struggle for me and I am sure others. If you are charging while driving, this will heat it up; but, if you don’t charge your battery will go dead.
      I try to run minimal apps, turn off location sharing on apps that don’t need it.
