I've played in a Police cover band. Spent hours dissecting Andy Summers sound, chords, pedals & effects. Tried many Flangers...The E-Lady comes really, really close. I Love mine.
Thanks - I learned a lot about the Helix on this episode. I prefer walking on the moon sound + the great beat/note placements of all the players. FX loop will come in handy for my Wampler Belle along side the Helix floor. Cheers
Andy Summers and the Police are some of my faves as well. My fave Police songs would be So Lonely. Bring on the Night, Walking on the Moon, Behind my Camel (would be great to do a Helix tone for that one!), Driven to Tears, Invisible Sun, Secret Journey, Walking in your Footsteps, Every Breath You Take, Wrapped Around Your Finger, Tea in the Sahara, Murder By Numbers, so so so many great songs!
I remember when I had a Firehawk FX I put an E-Lady into the effects loop to get THE Andy Summers Tone. But this was because the Firehawk didnt have an Electric Mistress Clone. So why is it, why the Helix Flanger can not recreate the sound of the Electric Mistress/Lady? What if you exactly choose the same settings on both devices?
Yes! That's why I used it in this demo. But now I think of it, I may not have mentioned that in the video. So thanks for pointing it out for the viewers.
That was a convenient oversight and I understand it. They have to make money somehow and musician's life is not easy if you're not Andy Summers or the likes.
Dude, such a bad video. How did you not talk about the settings for each gear item. Yeah, you talked about what gear he used but you held the dial on one thing the entire video so we have no idea what the settings are for each thing. Thanks for the 20 minutes wasted.
The e lady is just more focused on the high fequencies. I have the hh electronic equivalent The Clokwork Concubine. I still need to do a demo of it . ...

Helix flangers are not good. Very poor emulation.
You just need to know how to dial them in. I get great flanger tones out of the helix.
