Nice one. Those fuses do typically corrode over time and crack in the centre where it's thin. 👍
It may have just Been old age or me attaching the welder to the bodywork without disconnecting the earth ;-/
Dear Harvey, may be you can spare removing the bumper with removing the foglight or the cover of it to reach the cable connectors….friendly greatings from Gütersloh Mathias
I've sold the MK1 Fabia VRS now but I still like watching your videos.... 😄💁🏻♂️
The VRS fabia is an excellent model, but the standard seats are too delicate and cheap looking IMHO apart from the leather version. Perfect nippy, tuneable, economical and practical value for money hatchback around. Why did you sell it? :-)
Nicee
Thanks :-)
My (1.9tdi) Fabia does this dash error light typically first start on a cold day, (fuse ok). I stop and restart engine and it goes. A new bat helped. It’s very sensitive to the charge level.
Yes they seam to do that when they get older. Connections and dry solder joints often shoe these symptoms as cold shrinks and opens joints/connections :-)
Let’s hope this helps! Been getting that error from time to time last few months, but it seemed to go away after some minutes or after restarting the car. Now it just consistently lights up and doesn’t go away 🤔 could this also be a battery issue? I remember having this exact problem when I just bought the car. Replaced the battery with a new one and no problems for several years
Skoda Fabia mk1 1.4 mpi 8v
Hmm, sound like a connection issue, but the battery needs to have a good charge to power the power steering. If you get use of a battery tester then you will know if it is ok or not. Usually starts when you have poor starting. I would check the connections and fluid level. If the power steering works with the light on then it could be the instrument binacle connections or dry solder joints.
Great video, as usual Harvey!
Today, servo indicator turned on, and wheel was ok while driving, but when I stopped to park on a downhill, while manoeuvering, servo was very stiff, for a 1-2 sec. and then okay, then stiff again, and so on... Could it be the level of fluid , never changed since new, 2002!
Best regards!
Sorry to hear that. Yes check that, for leeks and all the connections Inc steering angle sensor :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey Thanks Harvey, today, everything normal, no issues of any kind... anyway, will check everything...
ps service guy told me, I should change brake fluid... another one told me, no need to change it if everything works ok... Did you change it, or...?
Best regards!
have you ever heard of the fabia "caldo" version? I have it as a tag on the back and its original for sure. I mean, my mom bought the car 10 years ago from a first owner. I just wonder. Also, do you check your emails, hence i sent u one and still got no reply. Thanks in advance, keep up the good work, if its not for u I wouldnt be fixing her car all the time :D
A 'HOT' Fabia :-), never heard of it, but then many would say the VRS is the hot version. Sorry I only answer business emails - it does say that on the page. Glad my videos are helping you keep that fabia going :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey i guess i've missed that, sorry then to bother spam in the mail. Interesting, also the question in the mail was connected with the VAG automatic window close when you hold the lock key, are you familiar if the skoda has it? I hope you understand what I am talking about. Thanks again.
My Fabia (1.4 16V) throws this error when the battery level goes down (from making many short trips or letting the car sit unused for a long time). First you need to make sure to charge up your battery and if the error still does not go away then disconnect the negative battery terminal for a couple of hours and then connect it back up. This usually solves my issue at least.
Very annoying having to do that. Perhaps you need the battery checking - even if the voltage is high the condition may be poor - A battery checker will be able to test the condition.
Hello Sir....
Yesterday i have exactly this problem...
Under battery cover all fuse is well... No problem... Maybe problem have connectors under bumper......
This is moment we have very bad weather... And cant remove bumper
Fill level ok? Check sensor on rack & cable continuity. Fault code?
@@HatBoyHarvey today morning i try and all work perfectly....
🤷
Hi there Hatboy Have you ever done a leaking power steering hose ?
No, but I wouldn't bother with some kind of quick fix such as an additive leak stopper. So unless your just wrapping around the pipe to get you home then just replace the whole pipe making sure you bleed the air out :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey Thankyou for replying. Yes that,s what i intend to do here in the Gambia. When i can find one...Kind Regards
Swing angle sensors go on these all the time.
:-)
If you flip the car upside down, the fuses just fall off.
Easy. 😜
That's a great idea, I'll start lifting weights to be able to do that! I'll start on 70kg and work up :-)
Друг не перестану повторять, у тебя золотые руки, подскажи пожалуйста у меня на шкоде пропала подсветка панели, всё остальное работает
Oh dear, you will have to take it out and change the backlight. Disconnect the earth first :-)
EPC warning light on skoda fabia 2008?
Any accompanying symptoms? If not clear the code and see if it comes back as it could be due to moisture. If loss of power then it could be a coil pack, but you need to be sure with a vacom diagnostic check first
Just unplug the cable that goes to the throttle body and plug in again. The light will disapear if it comes back its likely the flaps inside the throttle body. I had this problem on my polo 1.4 2006
New Tires
Yep, the old ones, although had good tread were cracking on the edges :-)
