Apparently my hair grows pretty decently, I was only at about 3 1/2, 4 inches hair length after a years worth of growing my hair out. But keep in mind, I wasn't doing the best of maintenance. Ever since I started doing the 3 steps you told us about and properly taking care of my hair, after only one week, I'm at 4 1/2 inches now lol I was also raw dogging my pillow as well, so now I be sure to wear a durag at night every night. This has helped me so much. I have an appointment to get my hair braided next week! 😎

Checking what ur hair porosity is plays a big factor in this, especially if you dont know ur porosity. Maybe you are using too much or too less sealing and check ur shampoo, too.
