- Make your digital camera footage look like it was shot on film using the Film Convert Nitrate Film Emulation Plugin Software.
Sorry for the choppy playback near the end. It's nothing to do with film convert, it was my screen recording software.

Sorry about the choppy playback near the end!! It's the screen recording software, nothing to do with film convert nitrate. Anyway what do you think?
Loved the video :). Have you ever tried matching two completely different cameras with film convert?
Also regarding the screen recording, I always use quicktime's built-in screen recorder. Not sure if you have tried that?
Yeh QuickTime was giving me issues at the time but now it’s working perfectly 🤩👌🏻 thank you.
I haven’t yet, but I have a video coming up soon to test exactly that so I’ll keep you posted. 🎥🙏🏻 thanks for watching
@@SamHolland Thanks! Look forward to it!
🙏🏻🎥🤩
Love how it's calibrated to different cameras and colour profiles. So much work put into the plugin. And really like how it's available for both PR and FCP. Always been a fan of film look so this is a delight!
You’re right! I like it when software can work in multiple editing programs. Thanks for watching and commenting 💪🏻
Love that effect man - I can totally see how this could be used in Indie films or documentaries. Awesome that you're giving away a license for it too!
Thanks for watching bro! 🙏🏻
I have been really looking forward to this vid! I didn't really think about it as a camera matching tool, so thank you for mentioning that.
👌🏻📽🎞 Thanks for watching
Hi there, just wanted to let you know we've released a new plugin called CineMatch, which is designed specifically for camera matching - you can find out more at www.cinematch.com
Thanks for the great video, Sam! If anyone has questions about FilmConvert, reply here and we'll do our best to answer them!
You are welcome 🙏🏻 thank you for watching 📽
I have to get the adobe plugin!!!
👌🏻
@@SamHolland is there a profile for canon Eos R5 also?
How to import to Adobe Premiere Pro??
Super nice and interesting video Sam! I think one of the best feature is the detailed grain control. I was born in an age, where analog cameras were everywhere, and my childhood was captured with them. Film negatives, waiting for the pictures, '90-and older generations know... For me, the grain is like a magical nostalgia factor from my past, and I would love to use it on my videos too if I can. Thank you Filmconvert for making this great plugin.
Hey thanks for watching and taking part. That’s my favourite feature too. So good how you can control that. Good luck 🙏🏻📽🎞
Nice my brother. No, I haven’t forgotten that shirt. Life happened but catching back up. Thanks for giving me something else to study and learn.
Hope you’re well bro! 🙏🏻
Really nice Plugin, love that you can have all camera footage edited the same with multiple cams
Nice video Sam, keep on going soon we will hit 10k! Remember the times of 70 followers
😂 I remember those times well! 🙏🏻 Thanks for commenting and watching. Good luck bro 👌🏻 you’re right. That’s an awesome feature
Man I know the pain of screen recorders messing either audio or video when recording lol. Well in depth. well done mate
Ah man. It’s so strange because it plays back perfectly in premiere. It’s just that one bit that doesn’t want to work. Can you recommend any decent ones? Thanks for watching bro! 🙏🏻🎥
Nice video Sam! 👍
What you said about being able to match different camera flavour profiles is genius!
📸📹🎥
I’d love a play on FilmConvert Nitrate! 😊
Hi Steve. Yeah that’s so cool! 🤩🙏🏻 thanks for taking part
I really love this Channel. Simple and easy. Thank you!
Thank you 🙏🏻 haha simple and easy... that’s me! 😂🎥
Great video! This channel is gonna blow up
🤩 Thank you! Let’s hope so 🙏🏻🎥😂
Really great. Yes! I've used analog sound equipment for many years and now software plugins emulations make a great job, specially maintaining a total recall and use as many as you want depending of the computer's memory. I have Film Converter and looks amazing. Most important thing is using it with logical perspective and not overuse to maintain the natural look. But hey, technology is amazing today. 👍🏻👍🏻✨
Hi Federico! Yeah you’re right. It’s so good and using it in the right way is key and not over doing it. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻📽🎞
Now this is something I would love to win - been thinking of it for a while the bit I love the most is the panel and how you can use it to do everything - All ready subbed as you know, following on Instagram for you and FIlmconvert and about to tag some friends - great video as always cheers H
Legend. Thanks Hieth. Good luck man 👌🏻🙏🏻🎥
I love the fact it works with LOG footage and that there’s B&W options. This is perfect for me because I’m currently working on preproduction for my first short film outside of film school and I was wanting to grade it in B&W after we get it filmed. Fingers crossed!
Thanks so much for watching and taking part. Good luck 🤩🙏🏻🎞📽
Hey Sam! Iabsolutely love that I can choose my specific camera to work from within the plugin!
Yeah that’s such a good feature. Thanks for watching and taking part Wesley 🙏🏻🎞📽 good luck
Favorite thing is how natural it looks and it’s not a loop like most other effects when you add it in :)
You’re so right about the loop clips that you overlay on top of your footage. This has wayyy more control. Good point bro. Thanks for watching. Good luck 🙏🏻🎞📽
This is has been something I've been eyeing ever since I did a music video where we were going for the Super 16 look, but it's been a bit out of my budget. I mentioned that on your halation/mist filter video from a different acct. I actually saw an awesome video from the Media Division CZcams Channel about vintage Canon Cine Lenses, but they perfectly used filmconvert to seamlessly insert the host into the movie Aliens (which is awesome and you should definitely check out!)
As for the feature I'd use the most, probably the color correction tools and as well as the emulation as a base correct/color space transform.
That’s awesome! 🙏🏻 thanks for the comment 🎞📽
I just love the Pluging, and I need it
Love that theres profiles for each specific camera to bring them to same space.
Yeah it’s so good isn’t it. Thanks for watching. Good luck 🤩🙏🏻👌🏻🎞📽
Hi Juuso, thanks for your reply. If you're interested in camera matching, you might also want to check out CineMatch, our new camera matching plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro and CineMatch
Super cool, I have to say that the have done a super good job wit this plugin. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching and yes... it’s such a great plugin 🎞📽
@@SamHolland thank you 👋🏻
🙏🏻🤩🎥
I like the color matching because the software can grow with you and makes it flexible when using other cameras.
Hey. You’re right. It’s such a good feature. Thanks for watching and taking part. Good luck 👌🏻📽🎞
Hi Gustavo, thanks for the comment. If you're interested in camera matching, you may want to try out our new camera matching software CineMatch, which is designed specifically for matching footage from different cameras
Great Video man
Thank you 🤩🙏🏻🎥
Im in love with this plugin
I also like to combine it with colour grading in resolve, like ill do lots of intense keying and create big amounts of contrast but then use film convert to just pull it back a bit and make it feel a bit more naturalistic
That’s awesome!!! So pleased you like it. It’s so cool isn’t it. I use it all the time 🤩🎥 thanks for watching
@@SamHolland it defo helps a lot. My last few films were shot on a 700d which is not a good camera for filmmaking and so i had to heavily push the image in post. And so rather than having a lofi digital look which is fairly ugly, i pushed the image to look lofi in a 70s 16mm sorta way
Nice one 👌🏻🤩🎥 good work.
Any of you guys get the "no parameter is exposed to user or OFX plugin is not available"? and any idea how to fix it?
You can use the Mac’s screen recording.
Hey sam,
So do you color correct, color grade
And then do film nitrate?
Hi. Yeah I colour correct and then use nitrate and then make any tweaks after that. Pretty cool software eh 🤩 thanks for watching 🙏🏻🎥
My favorite feature is the 16mm grain!
It looks super authentic doesn’t it 🤩🎞📽
That looks pretty cool Sam 👍🏻 i work with EDIUS and with primary colour correction and some specific luts i can create a similar look 🎬 #filmmakingismypassion best greetings from 🇩🇪
Hey that’s awesome! 🤩👌🏻🙏🏻🎞📽 thanks for watching
Why why why would you make a demo video without bothering to download the correct film pack for the camera you were using ?
I shot film photography so to be able to do it on video would be a dream!
That is cool 🤩🎥🎞📽
when you download film converter how do you get it on DaVinci
After you install the trial version, you will see FilmConvert in the OpenFX panel on the Color tab
Is film convert nitrate compatible with the new m1 macbooks?
We're working on an update now to all our installers, check back in a few weeks
@@FilmConvert okay thanks!
We've updated the FCP plugin to be natively compatible with the new Apple M1 Silicon. The resolve and Premiere plugins are running well under Rosetta at the moment
What name camera in use footage?
This was the Canon eos R. An old video. Stay tuned for more film concert footage coming very soon! 🤩🙏🏻🎥
Who won this? I cant see the announcement anywhere? 😞
Hi. It was on Instagram and it was also in a CZcams video. Winner announced 🙏🏻
@@SamHolland thanks Sam, must have missed it. Which video? 🧐
I think it was the one with the Zhiyun smooth x
@@SamHolland Thanks x (See what I did there, haha) 😝
😂👌🏻
Is that a Wolverhampton opening shot?
Good eye! 👌🏻🤩🎥
I think i am late for winning ….would have loved to win this …...damn I am always late
you overlooked the most powerful tool in film convert: cineon conversion
noob :)
Doesn't look like actual film though, actual film also has a mysterious depth to the image baked into it beyond just the color and lighting itself, this really doesn't even get the color of film right, when will people stop falling for these products?
He is not using a film camera. The plugin is all about emulation... also, he is color grading some simple clips
