Hi Carly and Kim, You are both a fantastic together. Really fun, informative review. I got the game from the pre-order and have played only 2 player with my wife.
A few other points addressing some of the Wingspan criticisms might help folks decide on whether to get this game:
    1) We don't leave the eggs on the board when paying for Exploration, just the coin is good enough to keep track. The eggs goes back to the supply, so no egg-confusion.
    2) Explore is limited - only 3 times in each cavern per round with escalating cost each time. This reduces card luck by limiting a player with super powerful engine from repeatedly using it.
    3) Also limiting cavern reuse is the Exploration cost. Since eggs and scales (coins) are each a VP, you pay 1, then 2, then 3 VPs for subsequent Explores, so you rarely go into a cavern more than twice a round.
    4) The 3 caverns give resources, dragon cards, or cave cards. Not eggs, so NO EGG-SPAMMING, which are the only actions done in the last round of EVERY game of Wingspan.
    5) You touched on this: the biggest mechanism that makes this more crunchy is the interplay between getting resources, getting and placing caves, and getting then placing dragons. I find that the sequencing puzzle to get everything done in the optimum order is really engaging.
    6) HATCHLINGS!! Interesting new mechanism, but mostly SUPER CUTE ART!!
But overall, I agree with your summary and recommendations.
    Also:
    - Pregnancy/post-partum brain is REAL!! Frustrated the heck out of my wife after both kids. Nothing but RESPECT for you Moms!!
    - Dragon earrings would be awesome!
Happy Mother's Day (this coming weekend)!!
    ❤️ ur channel!!

WOW! Not that I expected any less but WHAT AN AWESOME review! I greatly appreciate all your candor and it means a lot to me to hear the completely honesty about the game both good and bad. Don't give up on that! There are channels that try to be all positive with NO critiques and I hate that content and unsub right away. They are a dime a dozen! Great job K squared! :D :D

Thank you for your great commentary on Wyrmspan! I love your informative Pros and Cons. You and Kim play off each other so well. I absolutely LOVE the dragon theme! Who doesn’t love the fantasy world of dragons🙃🙌 🐉 You are so fun and sincere! Tell Kim she definitely needs to make some Dragon earrings! I think it would be so cool if you and Kim would do a live actually playing a game! Would be so fun to watch! Keep up the great work! Your channel is such a joy to watch! You are inspiring! ❤🐉❤🐉❤ Love you girls🥰 Can’t wait to see what’s next!!!!

Randomized and competitive resource generation via that blasted bird feeder was by far the most frustrating design decision in Wingspan for me. So glad Wyrmspan fixes this and adds a lot of balance along with a moderate amount of crunch. Well done, Connie!
And haha, listening to Kim geek out over dragons simply made my heart go boom :D

I love that you said "apiary" instead of "aviary" at 18:43. It was a very on brand faux pas!!!! Bzzzzzz bzzzzz!

Thank you for this review :) For me, I think there are enough differences to love both, but I also think that Wyrmspan is something I might enjoy even more, especially for its theme of dragons. I can't wait to get my own copy and play it with friends.

For me, the original Wingspan was a game that was okay but I didn't fall in love with it. This one sounds more interesting. I think I definitely prefer the dragon theme over the bird theme, and being able to have turns that feel like mega-turns where you're getting all kinds of resources is always fun. This might be something I would get to replace the original. Thanks for the fantastic review!

You had me at Dragon. Awesome review...and boy do I have a lot of comments. I feel like StoneMaier games push themselves to make quality games and continue to raise the bar. It looks like Wyrmspan did just that. I love the addition of the Dragon Guild and the different abilities you can switch out. I like that it's more "thinkey", and will most likely draw a new generation of players to it's layer. I totally agree with Kim however that the artistic team dropped the ball on not creating dragons that would better fit the habitats they are governed to. I can't imagine how cool that would have been, and I think if done well, it would have surpassed Wingspan for me all together, and I'm a huge Wingspan fan. Honestly though...there's just nothing cooler than a dragon, so I adore the fact StoneMaier created this game to honor their lore, and I love how they included the Dragon book guide. It makes me realize they too (StoneMaier) love dragons, and wanted to go the extra mile for their fans. And btw...how adorable is the Beckoning Cricket Catcher dragon? Just the name makes me smile. StoneMaier Games you've done it again. I want this one. Perhaps you could you could make a WITCHSPAN for my favorite holiday, Halloween. With the right artist and imagination you could kill that idea.

Thank you for explaining the differences!
I have a question, maybe a dumb one but I haven't played Wingspan expansions yet and I don't know how much they add to the game beside the number of cards:
When you mention Wingspan (in difficulty f.e.), do you mean Wingspan base game only, or do you include the expansions overall in your portrayal about the game?

Thanks for the great review! Felt you gave a very easy to understand insight into the actions and what make them fun and had excellent additions for the game.
I might be one of the few but found it fun that I was competing for the birdfeeder with my opponent. "Am I going to grab this card I need or make sure I grab the food I need before it gets rerolled in 2 berries, 2 rats and a fish".
Less player interaction for this game feels a bit of a miss and is something which is a bit soring in Wingspan and I hoped they would have found a way to implement it more. It is still is a buy for me if you love wingspan but have played it a bit too much.
How was player interaction and did you have a feel that some rows and/or actions where stronger than others?

I really like the fact that you don’t have to rely on the luck of the dice roll for resources. This one feels more organic and free to explore without so many obstacles, and yet more layers to discover. Question: are the round tracker and Guild boards thick or just as flimsy as the one from Wingspan? Because that always bothered me. I even had to buy an overlay to protect it.

The Round Tracker and Guild Marker seemed really sturdy to me! You can’t bend them at all.

Thanks for another great episode. For me it is jet another SM game I am not interested in in the least. Another Phantasy-themed game. Funny how much Kim loves dragons. I personally found the cuteness and spin on the dragon-theme in Flamecraft lovely, while the gameplay there is sort of meh. Wingspan is my favorite SM-game (of the 3 I own and love, the others aren't for me). Wingspan is the best because it has real birds from around the world (can't wait for the still missing expansion). Therefore, I can learn interesting things about one aspect of nature while playing a game. I really dislike a book about dragon-"facts"?? Anyway, less phantasy - more real facts please in games, that's my wish. But I wish you both happy Wyrmspanning!

Just here to like and comment. My wife HATED wingspan since she played it first time at the max player count against 2 experienced players and myself (who has played magic the gathering since age 10. Different games, but finding synergies between cards is pretty important for deckbuilding/drafting).
