It really stinks to grow up around Boston dreaming that when you grow up you’re going to move into the city and to have that dream for years. Then when you’re finally an adult making median wage you are totally priced out of city living unless you want to have roommates at 30/40. Being priced out of the place you grew up in/around and love is a really crappy feeling. It feels like we were lied to and betrayed by our local and federal governments. Edit: also the inflation reduction act doubled the money supply overnight, effectively halving the purchasing power of every dollar you have. So makes sense that 100k feels like 50k ect. For those of us making less than 50k we see the streets in our future. I’ll be homeless in a few months
There's apartments going up all over the south shore and rents are still well above 2000 grand a month for a one bedroom. I cant figure out for the life of me how theres not an over abundance of apartments out there. Where did all these people live before??
