Working on a figure of my wife for Christmas. Thank you for helping me not make her look like a dumpster fire! Lol
Great advice, thanks
I have been binging skin painting videos recently because so far I have only painted masked characters covered head to toe. Time to branch out a bit. Thanks for the tutorials
You're most welcome
Retaking those long forgotten skills, thanks for all your videos! you have amazing tips and skills!
Great airbrush figure painting,video........😊
Thank you so much 😀
Glad i found your video.
First video I've seen on painting female faces, nice and great tips! Wish I had air brush.
Thank you so much!
Great video, great channel - I regularly check you out along with a couple others and compare your various techniques then comp together a clearer idea of what I want to achieve. Appreciate your efforts and B. Widow's face came out real well.
Awesome, thank you!
Thanks for sharing, very useful info
Thank's for the video it help me a lot I am back on it after 30 years thank you Michel Harvey 👍👍🤯
Great to hear!
Thank's for your super tip IAm standing back on to Modeling and it change a lot kip Up the good work Michel Harvey from Montréal 😊
that was so much skill to make that, i dont thing i cant do that
Thanks. I can do this. I've watched others that were overwhelming.
You can do this! Don't ever give up!
Very helpful, thank you! I will say, her eyeshadow needed a hair more blending out, and add a touch more highlight to her cupids bow, you'll have a much more polished look.
The stippling for her skin tone was awesome!
I use that salmon rose -Model Color on the lips and i got a printer like your first one you had
Very well done. Looks really realistic.
Do you perhaps paint miniature figures. I have some lead figures that I'm busy with between marvel and DC characters.
Would like too see how you paint some of them. Like 1:21 scale.
Thanks for the tutorial!
Great guide, thanks!
awesome job
Very easy to understand, thank you!
Awesome Video! Great work, thanks!!!
Impressive. Thank you.
Nice work, clearly explained and broken down for that booger - boo that is face painting. I learned a lot that I will definitely be using on the next figure I tackle. Thanks!
great job!
There was a lot of useful information here. I'm still in the study phase but when I'm finally printing and painting figures to add to my man-child collection, I know where I'll be coming back. Plus, thanks to your channel I've at least narrowed down the printer I want (the Anycubic Photon Mono X)
Thanks for making and sharing this, man.
Very helpful. I'm starting to paint my very first statue hopefully next weekend.
Nice!
Very gifted artist. I learned so much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this! One day I hope to be able to do this!
Some words…..just kidding, I do 1/12 scale figure repaints and i find this larger scale fascinating!!!!!!
I'm a newbie and been 3d printing and want too paint the figures and you had some nice tips...
This is great.
Hey thanks! Great work, I’m new at this and it helps out a lot!
Bravo
great tips!
Totally worth watching! Thanks again for doing all of these for all of us that can't afford a Slideshow and want to learn to do it ourselves!!
Thank you!
Excellent info, some of the best I've seen!
Thanks. Glad it helped!
A wonderful video and thanks for showing how you do realistic skin tones! (Ordered one of those headlight glasses via your A-link that could be a vision saver for me!) 🤓Great channel. 👍
Show de técnica!! Estou sempre te acompanhando, tanto aqui quanto no instagram!! Abraço, irmão.
Great step by step
Thank you! Hope it helps!
Awesome and really detailed. Great work! I would like also if there is a way to show the same with brush technique. 😊
awesome!
Thanks!
Thanks for the vid. Great tips!
Thank you!
Thanks for the video 😁👍
Thank you for watching!
I've just come across this tutorial and it is going to be a great help! Thank you so much for taking the time to post such a thorough and informative video. Really appreciate it. Subscribed :)
Glad it was helpful!
The way you done the eyes was great as I,ve not done eyes yet, maybe at Christmas I,ll get a printer and I,ll be in touch
Great video.
Thanks!
And just for another comment to help the channel.....this turned out SO great!
Thanks my friend! Much appreciated.
Amazing video, thank you!
Two suggestions if I may:
1) if your camera allows it, set the white balance/exposure to a fixed value. Sometimes the face looked too orange, sometimes too pink, sometimes burnt out (over exposed), etc.
2) share links to your other videos in description so that those "i talked about this in another of my video" videos are easier/quicker to find. This would be so helpful and a real time saver for those of us a little short on time 😆
Cheers!
Sorry about that. I use my camera phone but I'm working on getting an actual camera. lol And yes I'll leave more links in the videos. Thanks for reminding me. I'm old.!
@@TheCreativeCollector Much appreciated! Sub'd to your Patreon just now. Wanted to do it a while back but kept forgetting (talk about being old 😂).
Thanks really helpful
Glad to hear!
nice painting tip video all adds up
Thanks 👍
Great video
Thank you!
Nice work! If i'm right, the color from the beggining of the video is a Vallejo Game Color 72.099 (Cadmium Skin). Maybe, this info would be helpfull for those who will try to repeat this tutorial.
You are correct
Je suis français et j ai découvert ta chaîne CZcams. Et merci pour ton travail et les tutos c est un plaisir de les regarder. J ai hâte de découvrir ton travail. Tu es inspirant !! Merci
Thank you very much!
I am flabbergasted because I am painting this same Widow. Great help, thanks....
Wonderful!
Very informative thank you! Lots of stuff I did not know and it turned out great! Keep up the awesome content! Is that the Wicked3D Mephisto behind you? Looks awesome.
Yes it is. I made a video fir that one as well
nice
Great video as always! Have you done a video about your favorite brushes? Favorite for eye work, or large coverage, things like that?
Not yet! Sounds like I need to film something on it. Great idea!
Great video. Just making the jump from wargames figures to this scale and this has been a big help.
Great video dude. Did you by any chance do a video on the rest of this model?
Unfortunately not
Thank you for the info. You keep it simple and easy. A lot of videos make you crazy. I have been doing this on and off for a few years.
Just retired and need more to do. Also is it possible to make some side cash as well and have you ever sold your work. I would like to keep this as a hobby but a couple of extra bucks wouldn't hurt. Any thoughts and thank you again. Keep up the great work!!!!
Wow nice face❤️
thank you so much for this very instructive video . When you talk about sealing beetween two phases , you talk about satin varnish ? Many thanks again for your sharing. It s a real treasure for beginner like me :)
I use a flat varnish mostly because if you use a satin or gloss you can dull it out when you add more paint or your paint will look too shiny.
Do you have video that shows what all goes into the base you use. You say, "A little mixture that I always talk about that I mix up". Thank you very much for this video. I've been struggling with skin tones, eyes, lips, hair, etc. Hope this is my holy grail. Thanks again.
Hey Mike. I do have a couple of videos that go more into what I mix up for skin tones. Scroll through but I think the second one third video I ever made was on mixing skin tones.
Thx u so much for this video!! you help me a lot! only one question, what do you use for sealing? Thx again!
Thanks! I use Krylon Color Maxx flat clear in a rattle can.
Great video as always! Congrats! By the way... What are you using to seal her?
Thank you! I use a rattle can, Krylon Color Maxx clear flat.
do you have a video of wicked 3d hawkeye being painted thanks
Not yet but I have that one on deck to do.
Great tips in this video mate.
Do you ever print multiples of your models and do alternate paint jobs? So a realistic version and maybe like a comic version?
Not yet, but I do have something in the works when it comes to 2D or comic style.
what is the type of sealer you use i normally go with this matt/flat rattle can from minwax and not really fond of so im looking for something better
Check out Krylon Color Maxx flat. It's the best I've used
thanks for another great video, i cant wait to apply it to my own painting :) What sealer do you use?
Thank you! I use Krylon Color Maxx. They have a flat, satin and gloss. I'm probably going to make a video soon about sealing models.
@@TheCreativeCollector that would be great, I have yet to find a good video going over that process
I have a question about your base coat for skin tones. In your pre mixed bottle is it all paint or is it mixed with thinner or water? Also do you have or know of a video about blending/fixing a skin, face tone when you make a mistake with another color and you don’t have a match to the exact skin tone color you used? If that makes sense?
Really good questions! Yes I do have a little bit of thinner in my mix however I do thin it again when in the airbrush. Paint can thicken up over time while in the container. I don't have a video on how to fix tones but it seems like maybe I need to make one. I've had this question asked several times before.
@@TheCreativeCollector thank you for sharing! I made a mistake and started mixing a lot of paints and got a nice tone, but I had to paint everything because my final coat was on the reddish side. But it actually turned out great with a redish under coat. And that would be awesome if you can make one one day.
Hey do u have any helpful advice on keeping paintbrushes clean and pointy? Lol I use the same ones as you but they start to frail out fast.
I have the same issue after a while. I clean them and dry them with the bristles hanging down.
@@TheCreativeCollector whoa that kinda blows my mind cause I do the upside down in a cup. Do u have like wall mounts for em? Probably worth doing for the fine detail ones. It’s the worst when I go do an eyeball and one stray bristle does some random off centered dot haha
Just found your channel as I'm a 64 yr fella who just got into modeling 3 yrs ago, the last time I modeled I was 10. My question, can you PVA glue the resin base and say Flock it?
I'm sure you can. The good thing about these models is tge possibilities are endless.
Hi Great as aslways whats is the gloss you ise for the eyes and lips?
Thanks. It's just a clear gloss from Vallejo
Do you have a list of the colours, like the made up ones? Or a close version? Gonna try this I think
I don't. When I mix up skin tones I just try and combine colors to get the exact tone I'm looking for.
Couple of questions: What primer do you use? What do you use for sealer?
I use Krylon Color Maxx both for primer and flat clear coat.
So I'm working on a 1/12 figure and my question is what size of brush could work better to paint eyes and lips 3-0 or 5-0 size brushes? Thanks.
I use a 10-0
Thanks my man
What do you use for the gloss on the eyes? I want to get that wet look that real eyes have.
I use Vallejo gloss medium.
Hope you dont mind me asking, what's in the mixture you made that you show at about 1:32 of your video?
I'll have to go back and look but if you're referring to the skin tone, it's basically a light tone from Vallejo mixed with a dab of rose and dab of light brown and then I add some off white to lighten it up a bit. It takes a little experimenting with it.
@@TheCreativeCollector thanks for replying bud. I'll have to see if I can mix up something like that for myself. Loving your videos by the way.
What PSI are you spraying at for faces and in general?
Around 25-35psi
Thanks for the video... whats the first paint you use... you did not mention which one. Thanks again
I believe it was a mix of my own.
@@TheCreativeCollectorwhich is what
Usually it's a base skintone, highlight skintone, and brown rose from Vallejo.
@@TheCreativeCollector I don't know anything about paint
Do you prime the statue first and then paint
Yessir!
what sealer do you use?
I use Krylon Color Maxx flat
What color brand you use for paint
Mainly Vallejo
Great video I can paint male faces pretty good but when I paint females faces they always end up looking horrendous lol trying to practice it right especially when it comes to lips
How long do u wait between layers before adding more
I just wait till it's dry usually.
What did you mean by gloss & seal at the end?
Clear coating the model
Do you not add light reflection to your eyes? I also made up large batches of light and dark skin tone. Makes life so much easier.
No I don't. Reason is because if you put a little white dot and then gloss it, you lose the true color of the eye and it looks unnatural. So I let the gloss reflect it from the natural light.
Can I get a link to the glasses?
There is a link in the description.
What exactly is your base color coat you use?
It's my own mixture
@@TheCreativeCollector I thought so thank you
@@mikek2824how is this helpful
How do you "seal" the paint between coats?
I use a clear coat such as Krylon Color Maxx flat.
Skin tone facial tone eyes wow so many videos out there but there not as good as your videos
where can i get models like this where i can print them then paint them?
All kinds of patreons. These are mainly from Wicked3d
How much do you thin paint
It depends. Most of the time I add just a little thinner to it but if I'm doing a wash, I'll thin it down quite a bit like 70/30...thinner/ paint.
I follow your video on how to do eyes but I’m still failing. What am I doing wrong. Your prints all come out awesome. Wish I could do that.
Eyes take a lot of practice and patience. Make sure you have a fine tip brush, some magnifying glasses, perhaps a micron pen and just take a head that you're not using and practice. Try it once, then primer over it and do it again and again.
@@TheCreativeCollector what kind of primer
I use Krylon Color Maxx primer
@@TheSpider-ManSanctuary
@@TheCreativeCollector I will see if I can find that. Any other advice you have for me wouid be awesome. Love your CZcams videos. All your statues are awesome. Hope to be as good as you one day. Ordered the flesh set. And the paint brush you use
I have a question how do you paint blonde hair???
Depending on the shade or tint of the hair you want, I usually lay down a light beige or tan color then maybe drybrush a lighter color until I get the desired color I'm looking for. OR I'll color the hair then maybe add washes to it THEN drybrush it. YOu just really have to play around with it a little.
Can this be done without an airbrush? Like your Dr. Strange head. I hate airbrushes.
Absolutely it can.
Here is the biggest problem with people doing skin tones on video... Everyone says, I'm gonna seal it... but then never disclose what they use to seal it and how long it took for it to dry. When I seal something, it takes 24 hours, but in videos, its like magic. Sealing layers takes a ton of time.
I wish people would talk about that instead of cutting it out. Sealing layers is important.
You are absolutely right. And I've talked about it in my videos before what I seal it with. And I don't wait 24 hours. It usually takes about 24 minutes! But you brought up a good video topic that I may touch on real soon!
@@TheCreativeCollector Awesome brother, keep them coming !
OK OK I will comment... Its not enough I already subscribed (A LONG TIME AGO BY THE WAY), liked(AND I DONT LIKE MANY VIDEOS) and watched the whole video(I ALSO DONT DO THAT OFTEN) even though i dont paint right now, I must comment too (WHICH I ALMOST NEVER DO)... you are too demanding sir! Now for real, thanks for tutorial cheers!! But I didnt joke about that I dont like, watch and comment many videos ;)
🤣🤣 Thanks my friend. I just like having a little fun in the videos. Lighten the mood a little.
@@TheCreativeCollector Fun is good, cheers!
awesome... female faces had me stumped... now less so thanks
