- You may know his face from Australia's $50 note, but David Unaipon's influence - as a Ngarrindjeri man, author, revolutionary inventor, preacher and activist - extends far further afield than your wallet. The invention of the first straight-line motion shearing machine in 1909 is one part of Unaipon's incredible story, documented here in 'Australia's Da Vinci'.
