Your reaction was priceless! It's my understanding that Marcelito Pomoy taught himself this song, no classical training period, by listening to a recording by Celine Dion Andrea Bocelli. His performance is gorgeous considering that he requires a translator to carry on a conversation in English even though he understands it well but has trouble speaking it. He speaks Philipino broken english, but his singing was self taught. The recording engineer was teasing him about his female voice. That's why he spit her out at the end. Notice his big grin after doing that. He is singing now in English, Italian, Spanish and Chinese but not speaking those languages. Possibility even more by now. He grew up on the streets from age 7 or 8, and now is married and a father! He is very humble, helping out his neighbors with odd jobs and repairs, even though his reported net worth is around $5,000,000 USD. His ambition serves him well in whatever he does!

Marcelito is a Filipino singer. Born on September 22, 1984 at Bislig in the heart of the Philippines. When he was young, his father was incarcerated while his mother left him alone with his younger sibling and went to Capital City Manila. His childhood years were a difficult life, for he used to live on the streets to earn something for a living. He’s been singing since 7 years old but only at the age of 18 that he then realized that he could make a career out of it.
UNIQUE TALENT
Marcelito unique ability is that he can sing in both a male tenor voice and a female soprano voice. Because of this, he’s able to perform popular male-female duets without a partner. He sings both high and low parts, but he switches back and forth between them smoothly.
Marcelito is the winner of ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ Season 2 in 2011.
In 2019 he took part in America's Got Talent: The Champions and earned a fourth runner up.

Marcelito’s talent in music is indeed God’s unique gift to him, for he did not manage to complete his studies. He doesn’t acquire his talent in music through academic studies, but his naturally cultured dual voices were being developed through his participation in various singing contest.

Yep, this is HIS thing. He’s so great with it that even we, Filipinos, who have heard him a billion times, still do get very surprised and amazed of how great he does it. He’s such a gem of a talent.
The live part proves that he’s the only one signing it, switching at very tight intervals. If you want the recording where he sings both parts completely, it might sound just “fake” and less impactful. So when he sings this in America’s Got Talent or any live shows, he wouldn’t should backing vocals to support the other half.

Marcelito started singing when he was 8 yrs old if im no mestaken....while he was selling egg"balut". He is gifted of having a golden voice. He never tried to send school of music but only experienced of winning the singing contest. Until he became an X Factor Philippines Champion.

That thing he did at the end with his mouth is because the engineers were teasing him about his "female" voice, so he was "removing " it. =)
