Going to start doing a “How To” series of some jobs we come across a lot in Plumbing.
Just seeing how this one goes but they will be interim videos between the main Wednesday and Sunday Video…
Thanks everyone as always🙌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hello, can you show where you linked the tile drill bits? And also why do you keep them wet just out of curiosity 😊
Hi great vids, any chance of a how to...... 're seal a bath, always fails when I do it with a gap showing in the seal within a week or two.
Because of your video I was able to fit my bath screen. I’m proud of myself as I’m not a DIY person. Thank you!
Glad I helped you with fitting it👍🏼👍🏼
a very good presenter with no useless waffle .. thanks.. clear and concise
Thanks mate
I used these drill bits for the first time last week after seeing your previous video . I drilled 30 holes in rock hard porcelain and one bit did most of the holes . Best drill bits for porcelain I’ve ever bought . Great recommendation 👍
And only £6 for 10 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks a million! I’m confident that even though I’m not a professional, I could do it with the right tools!
Yep it’s fairly simple
Hi Mark I love all your videos and your honesty and it helps me to get more and more experience to avoid any mistakes
As much as I can and I do appreciate for your sharing 👍🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️🙂
Thanks mate…. Glad your learning from my content
Great guide, clear and concise, thanks
Thanks buddy
Thanks for your time. It was easy to follow. Thanks
Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
Love watching your vids! Been plumbing for about 7 years. And wanna start going out on my own soon.. love to watch all your different videos 👌
Thanks mate
Thank you for this video. Really helps a lot😊.
Thanks 👍🏼
My drill bits came through today on your recommendation. Wicked hack. Over the years I have spent ££££ on posh drill bits. I like the idea of the how to series.
Yep, and me until I gave these a try, for the money you won’t go wrong🙌🏼🙌🏼
This has been extremely useful thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video. Fantastic presenter 👏
Thanks mate…. Appreciate the comment 👌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Like the idea of these How-to little videos
Thanks mate, yer seems like it’s gonna be a thing
A really good clear and concise demonstration 👍
Thanks👍🏼👍🏼
Great video. Exactly what I was looking for 👍🏻
Thanks buddy
Great tips.👍👍👍
Thanks mate
Great explanation and demonstration cheers 👍
Thanks buddy👍🏼👍🏼
Great stuff thank you for sharing this video and appreciate your time 🙏🏻
Thanks mate
Thanks for another great vid, nice to see the silicone applied behind wall profile, you wouldn’t believe the amount of houses with poorly fitted enclosures and screens and wondering where the rot in adjacent walls and skirtings coming from ,! Keep up the vlogs
That was perfect, thanks
No problem buddy
Great timing, I have to fit a screen , and was dreading it, this helps enormously, great vids, keep em coming...👍
Glad I could help mate, just take your time
Wow nice mate
Great detailed (how to) thank you 👍
Thanks Terry 👍🏼👍🏼
Had a plumber quote us £300 to fit a couple of taps, a shower screen and replace a radiator with a towel rail. That's 3 days' wage for me, and watching videos like this made me realise I went down the wrong career path. You made it look so easy, I picked up a few valuable pointers for someone who has 0% plumbing experience.
Wish me luck!!
That sounds more than reasonable mate. I imagine some pipework would have been involved to replace towl rail so that's a pretty good price even up north
How did it go?
Great content very helpful. Learn more from you than I have done at college keep it up your a major help to the newbies in the trade
Thanks mate, kind words 👍🏼👍🏼🙌🏼
Helped a lot, thank you 👍🏻
👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Mark, yes I think a series of short how to videos would be great (no matter how many times you do something you can always learn something new).
Thanks mate, looks like it’s going to be a thing
Hi mark, superb channel, very informative from a very honest plumber and yeah the how to keep them coming, top man top job👍👏
Thanks Andrew 👍🏼👍🏼
Fantastic so glad I found your channel 🙌
Thanks buddy…. Welcome aboard
Love the channel Mark like the fact its real world good tip and tricks of the trade and I think a how to series is a good idea .
Keep up the good work and enjoy the rest of the week👍
Thanks Jason
Hi mark, love your channel, I definitely think a how to series would be good, I know there is alot of stuff like that already on CZcams but I think for those of us who watch you regularly, we trust the stuff your telling us more than the random videos we find on CZcams so it would be great to share your skills and info for how-to's
Thanks Nick, appreciate that mate….
What stuff would you like to see a how to on
@@MJTiffPlumbing all sorts, I'm an avid DIYer and trying to start up my own sole trader business in carpentry and bathroom and kitchen renovations so anything like domestic stuff to do with Teeing off mains and hooking up waste pipe and soil stacks, and installing stuff in bathrooms and kitchen, anything really
Very useful many thanks 😊
Your welcome
Hi Mark A good start to the how to series. I love the warts and all series. I know what ever Subject you cover it will be well presented and easy to follow.
Thanks Nigel…. Looks like the “how to” series is very much wanted by a lot of people so I will get onto it🙌🏼🙌🏼
Hi thanks for the video. The ceiling lights are quite interesting as well as that entry door. 😊
👍🏼👍🏼
I like idea of how to videos it's good to see how you do things I've picked up loads of helpful tips 👍

Great video mark, it mixes up the content of the channel
Thanks mate…. Yer looks like a lot of people are saying to do some more of these 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you that was good
Loving your videos, I watch them every week😊
Would love to see a ‘how to fit a kitchen tap’
Going to try and attempt it myself 🙈
Thanks for the support, will get one up
very good video well explained
Thanks Barry 👍🏼👍🏼
Love this Tiff. Great channel and you seem down to earth mate. 👊🏾
Thanks mate….. just being myself buddy🙌🏼🙌🏼
Hi Mark, again I have to say, your channel is brilliant, and thank you for the effort you make into editing and putting out these videos. Love the idea of a “series of how to jobs” keep them coming buddy
Thanks as always Richard 🙌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Your channel just gets better mate👍👍
Thankyou mate…… means a lot 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks for the video. As many have said it's the real life plumbing including mistakes, showing the things that can go wrong and fitting taps lying on your back under the sink (!!) that I like about your channel. The idea of "How to" videos is fair enough but there are hundreds of them available on CZcams and I'm not sure whether the work involved for you would enhance your viewing figures - what I perk up for is when I here you say "here's a little trick of the trade", the more of them the better for me.
We all love a little trick of the trade 🙌🏼🙌🏼
I hear what your saying about the “how to’s” aswell… thanks mate
Great vid as always mate. I usually use the bosch blue multi construction drill bits for tiles which fly through it...but whatever gets the job done 💪
Yep they are pretty good aswell
😎 Greetings from Luxembourg. Great channel 💯
Hey Neil…. Glad your enjoying the content
I will keep watching your videos till I start my plumbing work
Keep watching after you’ve started it aswell mate 😉👍🏼👍🏼
Great tutorial as I'm fitting my own tomorrow, love your channel 👍

Great idea Mark, do it mate.. I'll look forward to the upcoming series. You always crack me up, so learning while you laugh can't be a bad thing 👍🏻
Thanks mate…. Looks like it’s going to be a thing 👍🏼👍🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbing class mate, going to be very informative. Quick question, which/where did you get the shower screen from? Never knew the glass ones could move inwards and outwards from the bath. I always thought they were secured solid.

Plumbase as always 😉😉🙌🏼🙌🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbing use something else rather than plugs & screws . As it’s only plasterboard and tile . Better options out there !!!
@@makg4655 never had an issue in 25+ years to be honest mate….. if done right it’s 100% fine👍🏼👍🏼
Nice little vid that one mate. Didn't comment but really enjoyed the last one of you filling up. Not a plumber but I can imagine that no matter how many times you've completed an full fit out like that, the day of filling up must be stressful. U nailed it mate. Keep up the good work and the vids.
Thanks…. Yer it’s a very stressful day that for sure
Just *found* you today Mark, great videos... thank you for posting your content Mate 😊
Welcome to the channel buddy….. glad you enjoy my content
Great vid Mark keep them comming. Would be good to see a wet room / walk in shower from scratch
Thanks mate….
If you haven’t seen my “sunken bath” series then that’s got the walk-in shower install mate…. 👍🏼👍🏼 (it’s in the playlists)
New subscriber love the channel
Thanks mate, welcome to the channel
Good video
Thanks mate
Watched a view videos on this job and this one's the best. Best crack on with it myself then 🤞
👌🏼👌🏼
Good idea for the channel👍
How to hang a rad, measuring where to position brackets with pipes already in position. As usualy in the past I've been able to hang the rad first then link pipes to it. 🤣 got one to do at me mums 🙈
Thanks mate
Will add to the list
Great concise vid, cheers. A couple of tips you could use.. I mark crosses on the wall or tiles so it's easy to check the drill doesn't drift - useful to keep everything spot on when you have a row of fixings to line up.. good to drill the tile 1mm bigger than the wall hole to avoid cracks when putting the screws in (and a spot of silicone in the holes first!).
Glad you liked the video👍🏼
Hi I got a question, how do you make the holes in the tiles bigger?
@drikareis1770 Use a 1mm bigger drill bit for the tile, then change to a smaller one to drill into the wall behind. So, for a 7mm wall plug, use 8mm tile bit first, then 7mm masonry bit - make sure you only widen the hole in the tile and don't go too deep.
Very useful, thank you. I have a list of how to's lol
Fire away 👍🏼👍🏼…. Let me know
Nice one mate,I usually put silicone within the bottom of the profile before putting the screen in.never any problems.
Thanks mate 👍🏼👍🏼
Great little tutorial. I think a good one would be how to set a shower valve in a wall. Getting the depth right to the finished surface etc.
Thanks mate…. Will add it to the list mate 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks a lot for this mark, could you make more how to videos and also some on central heating as well if you get around to them please, I am also big fan of your first fix work I have learned quiet a lot from them, thanks mate.
Will do!
Great, thank you 👍 What’s the best way to protect window/ frame/sill when it’s right in the shower/bath? I use a shower curtain, it’s a right pain, are there any better easy hacks or ways to get the water to run off the sill instead of sitting there?
Great content as always, how to vid on how to battern out a bath for a bath panel, or for having a tiled bath panel with a removable access panel
I’ve done that on a few videos but will do a stand alone one for just this mate 👍🏼👍🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbing thank you.
Do u happen to know what vid there on so can have a watch? Thanks
@@davidsummerfield5880
Now your asking… I will see if I can find it
Great film, I enjoyed that.
A how to series sounds good, even if you could already do the task, it’s worth watching to maybe learn a new tip or two.
A how to bend a 15mm crossover film would be good, I have done it in the past but I think I make it hard work.
To see how you would approach it would be great. As always, thank you, take care, regards, Chris. 👍👍👍
Thanks Chris….
Yer I guess everyone does things different so it’s always good to see others ways of working….👍🏼👍🏼
Hello , thank you for the video , I'm doing this next week but instructions say you should do the seal first then do the screws then you won't get that gap you had at the end , thi video has helped me to make an idea what I will be doing , thank you
Your welcome
Great tip to silicone that little bit first! Cheers
Glad it was helpful!
Really like this style of video mixes it up maybe “how to hang a rad on a combi system “
Thanks mate…. Will add that one to the list
Great Video Mark, made it look nice and simple. Would like to see a Video around the Quooker Tap,are they worth the money? Would like a how to video on basic plumbing, fitting U bends, joining pipes etc. Thanks Mark👍
Thanks Andy, I will add it to the “how to” list 😉
To all those people who are commenting that there is water leaking by the screen hinge, ensure the bath has been fitted level. Even a couple of mm incline can cause this to happen. Even incline the bath a couple of mm towards the back wall. I've just had a huge issue with incompetent plumbers. I discovered the issue simply by using a spirit level, they didn’t use one. They suggested putting up a shower curtain to solve the problem. I'm hundreds of pounds out of pocket too.
👍🏼👍🏼
I’ve just moved in a rental property and have this exactly leakage problem. The reason I watched this video so I can remove it and put a tension rod up with a shower curtain. I’m planning to buy in a couple of years so will keep this in mind if installing one 😅
@TinyBallOfHate the shower curtain wouldn't have made any difference because the bath wasn't level in my case.
I hope you've got your issue sorted
Great video mark on fitting of a shower screen it amazes how so many people get this wrong.it would be good to see how to fix a bathroom towel radiator onto a plasterboard wall
Thanks Martin…. I will ad it to the list
I use cavity wall fixings, the ones that you squeeze with the gun.never an issue
@@thomaswatt1658 I had a job the other day where someone had used metal self drill fittings the tenant slipped out of the bath and grabbed the radiator and pulled it out from the wall I used the same fittings you mentioned have seen toggle fitting used aswell
@@martinkiely3147 I know the ones you mean, they're useless for anything with any weight.some people only want a quick fix and a quicker getaway lol
Nice wee video .. invest in the marksman marker for marking off for holes in tiles …find them great when I’m fitting profiles
Thanks mate, yer been meaning to get one of those
Nooice!
👌🏼👌🏼
I'm all for a how to series mark. I like to put a bead of silicon on the profile also,it's like a belt nd braces, job done well
Indeed mate
What drill set did you use to drill into the shower screen? Had the exact one fitted 2 months ago and the top of the screen is lying forward out of the frame.
Great idea for a series! Some of the issues i find are not covered for the amateur beginner is how to deal with actually getting the water off properly and what to do when it will not shut off. I.e turning an isolation valve off and then turning it back on again and it leakes from the isolation valve and will not stop dripping. What do you do there? Also when draining down to change a radiator and the drain off valve washer sticks in and/or will not reseal when trying to fill it back up again. For me the worry is what to do when the water will not stop and you dont know where to or how to stop it properly. So....changing a kitchen tap which has isolation valves on you turn them off fine, change the tap go to turn valves on and they both leak and will not stop....whats the next step, change the isolation valves but how when water will not turn off at tank/boiler etc. Yes i realise simple jobs for professionals like yourself but scary for the amateur and no idea how to address the problem. Hope this makes sense and thank you for the great videos really appreciated.
Thanks mate…. Will try and address some of that
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Enjoy watching your videos.
By the way, how can one cover the slight gaps left after fitting a Shower door on a wall that is not straight enough. Thanks
Thanks buddy….. silicone is your best bet
Thanks mate perfect vid 👍 I now know what’s what because I had a cowboy plumber wreck my bathroom a year ago so had to do bits and pieces myself but I’m no professional but was skint. The problem I have is the screen he fitted was ok but now is so stiff I think it’s going to rip the profile off the wall. How can I lubricate the hinges or is it a manufactured fault?? And can the screen be lubricated or is it a new screen needed???? I really haven’t a clue but at least I know how to take a screen off/ put one up thanks to you 👍 cheers
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi I have the same screen at home ere and the top nipple that holds the door snapped off any ideas on how to take the edge trim off to get a new piece on and are they just a clip on top don't want to damage removing it any tips welcome thanks
Hi Mark how you finding the Milwaukee drill love the how to vids all the best Kev
You mean the CAT Drill……..
Yer it’s a good bit of kit mate 👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Mark it's a great idea and could you do a macerator install when one pops up please 👊
Did one a few weeks back mate, take a look👍🏼👍🏼
How do you get the trim pvc on corner part of the shower bath screen having difficulty the bottom one went on easy
Hi ya mark
I fit bathrooms and also do plumbing, but as I’m not gas registered I don’t do a lot of heating, my gripe is open vented heating systems , when you airlock them ? Any tips or maybe a video clip on how to purge or find etc…
Cheers loving the quality fitting you do and the vids you send out!!
Will see what I can do
A how to series sounds like a fantastic idea mate.
Can you do a video on how to be a successful CZcamsr please 🙏🏼 😊
Hahahaa…. Just ring me direct mate😉😉
I have a water pipe running across the bath edge next to the wall where the bottom of the profile would fit. Any ideas to get around that problem.
might be too long for a video but would love something on how to tank/hardybacker a shower area ready for tiling, very nervous about doing it even though I'm in the trades, down want leaks 6 months down the line! Love the videos mate, cheers!
Take a look in the playlists and the “sunken bath” videos shows just that mate 🙌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Tilers have done an awesome job by the way, is the mastic down to you? Have you seen the new screens with the adjustable screw holes? Great if you are doing a replacement, ScrewFix have them, think it's triton, saves the multiple trips to the van getting drills and shit. Got to say I've bought loads of them drill bits, they are really good quality, be careful if you are drilling porcelain and dipping them in water as it tends to temper them and make them brittle. Pain in the arse when the end snaps off in the hole. Sorry for the lots of questions etc but love the channel it's refreshing to see a plumber posting what it's really like, I've had enough of perfect pipe work etc lol.
Yep this channel is all about the “real world plumbing” side of things…
Mastic is being done by the builder/owner….. he wants it a certain way so leaving him to it….
Does it matter if the wall is plasterboard or not? Or is the process with the red plugs still the same (tiled plasterboard btw)?
Please keep them coming for the trainees like me. How to solder, and how to measure out and pull bends in the right place would be marvellous for me. 😊
My first ever paid plumbing job was fitting a screen like this and a medicine cabinet.
Quick question when drilling for the plugs do you stay the same size as usual or go up half a mil or so through the tile. I'm always terrified the tiles will crack putting the screw in if the tip of the plug is too snug if that makes sense. Any thoughts from someone who's drilled thousands more than I have would be appreciated.
Look forward to these. 👍
You'll probably ever only use 2 types of rawl plugs, red and brown, red is 5.5mm drill bit, brown is 7mm drill bit, perfect every time
As above mate…. Jamie has summed it up perfectly👍🏼👍🏼
yes deffo keep the how to vids coming, always a good idea to keep ya tip wet lol who knew? 😂👌
Hahahaha thanks mate
Great video! Not sure what size shower screen I would buy fir a 43 inch entrance for a shower stall?
Thanks mate
hi mark good video what plugs did you use and how was the height of panel worked out in relatation to bath so it seals properly thanks
Red plugs on this, and the profile is flush to the bath, that’s how it’s set. Everything works from that
I used to silicone the back of profile's but then I had to change a screen a few years later and it ended up braking a load of tiles so I only silicone the holes and the outside now!
Just use a wire slicer down the silicone mate, not an issue at all👍🏼👍🏼
Amazing video, thank you!
I have a question.
In my case, the bathtub edge, so, where the profile needs to seat , is right on the door wooden frame.
So, I will be drilling into wood to put the screws. Do I still use the plugs? Do I need different screws?
Your advice is appreciated
Thanks
Just screw into the wood with no plugs and all will be fine
Nice content as per mate👍🏻 how about a “how to” on dealing with customers that know your job better than you do!👍🏻
Hahahaaa……. This would be a classic
