I got the most distance out this kick. In warm up at practice, I kicked from the goal square and landed at the centre bounce area. Another version of the drop kick was the stab pass.

The place kick is a actual kick in AFL VFL. It was last used in the 1960s look it up
Yes bring back the dropkick. Make it an 8 point goal. Bring some excitement back into the game.
Hold the ball on a tilted angle forward when you kick the drop kick
I don’t understand why the place kick isn’t used for kicks at goal within 30 metres in a 45 degree arc. Almost impossible to miss.

Of course you don’t practice the drop kick. I can remember it used in games: more distance and power. More prone to error

Strike the ball with inside arch of your foot when performing a drop kick.
