- Hermitcraft 9: Episode 50 - The Grian finale to season 9 where we wrap up some unfinished business, play some minigames, play decked out the wrong way and go and leave some signs of appreciation for our fellow players on the server all while we reflect and think about season 10 of Hermitcraft.

I think what the soup trio has taught us is that a mega base is about the experience rather than the looks. There's stuff you don't see at first glance and that forces you to experience them rather than just look at them. They seriously feel real and soulful

Grian, I don't know if you will ever read this as there are hundreds of comments. But, me and my two boys, now 13 and 12, have watched every episode of hermit craft you have made, series 6 to 9, beginning to end.
We love dipping in with other hermits. We often watch Scar, sometimes Mumbo, Tango, Perl, Impulse. Seeing Cleo, B00, Perl, Scar, Gem, Keralis' and today False's builds is of course always a wow. There are great builders and red stone masters on Hermit craft.
But Grian, you are a brilliant content creator and entertainer. We love entering into all those builds, friendships and stories with you. Yes you are a good builder and sometimes we wish you would do that little bit more with your building. But the Hobbit hole, Mansion, barge, train, ally and mad floating rocks were all great just as they were.
We never doubted the explosion of Docs machine was real, and the content generator was indeed a genius idea that gave some great laughs.
All that is before we even touch on all your older build videos, Minecraft evolution, and then the life series, all of which we have loved.
Hope you have a good break and then enjoy making series 10, because it's the friendships, interaction, mischief, laughing and fun as well as the ideas and building that make you such a joy to watch.
This one thousand percent - it's the friendships, interaction, mischief, laughing, and fun - not just the building - that has me coming back for more Grian, more Scar, more Tango, Impulse, Mumbo, Iskall.... Doc.. Bdubs...

I love the fact that at the end of the video when Grian was doing a compilation of funny moments of the entire season, Scar was involved in most of them. They really make a good combo together at Hermitcraft.
Honestly, BDubs shouting about being stuck in the door and then shouting "LET ME LOOSE!" made me laugh so hard

Its genuinely moving to see how much respect and admiration is present on the server, such genuine emotion is so nice to see.
What I love about this episode is that it felt very free. Like you didn't feel like you had to make the perfect episode, with the perfect length or a central theme or a big build. It was just nice to hear you ramble on, doing things on the fly, and I hope you can feel the same in season 10. Its very reminiscent of old school mc videos where it's just us accompanying you on your session. 😊
That’s why I love stream content it’s just more chill and you can hear the creators thoughts without a cut every 5 seconds. Longer content is always my favourite

The part when Cleo and grian where just chatting about her build was just so wholesome
I realized the last time I saw Cleo’s base, I heard swearing on Hermitcraft.
Its cool seeing Grain's reaction to Gem and Pearl's stuff. I think both Gem and Pearl at points have expressed the pressure of joining HC and feeling the need to go extreme with their bases to prove they are worthy to be on the server. So to have one of the more established builders on the server gush over their stuff and how it inspires him to want to go harder next season is nice to see. Hope Gem and Pearl feel like proper established HC members now because they should.
Grian my boy, you've made your last episode worth 5 episodes, genuine love being expressed and spread all around in your video here, I love your signs of appreciation and the tours the hermits gave of their bases.
Tango should absolutely make Decked Out a proper map on some kind of minigame server. This thing is incredible

why did grumbot's "be good" almost make me cry that's so sweet
I've been avoiding watching this, because it kinda feels... Jarring? To watch the ending of a series that while it's been going on, some of the most important things have happened to me, I've gotten a partner, i got into high school, I've discovered myself, I've found my bestest friends in the universe, and I've grown so much from who i was 2 years ago. I'm excited for season 10, and for the new year, thank you Grian, for bringing us all such joy.
I love how grian recognizes that he slacked in season 9, isn't ashamed, is proud of what he did do, and is going to try to do more next season. This man is truly a good (and funny) role model.

I was not surpised that it happened. For the past seasons Grian has always tried so hard with mega builds that he burned himself out every time he worked on them.
You see that already when you compare the mansion to the barge and how he goes all out in every episode of any Life series. He said himself that maybe it does not have to be a mega base and that he does not want to spend so long planning next time and I think that's great, because Grian's best content is when he gets to interact insteado f being stuck on building.
Technically this is the only season where there also were 3 life series in it
So even if he wanted to, he couldn't have been able to upload more than like 10 extra episodes
The season was so much fun! Let's be real: even if the builds were bigger and perfectly detailed etc, it wouldn't be fun to watch if the Hermits themselves didn't have fun. You can just feel when a creator is burned out and doesn't love what they are doing any longer. So I don't need "perfect" episodes or one episode a week, I just need "fun" episodes.

I wasn’t ready to cry, but I’m glad I did this video was so heartfelt and amazing. This season felt slow paced, and it’s crazy to realize how long it’s truly been, thank you for creating and being part of such a wonderful series, and I cannot wait for the next to come.

I love all of the deep conversations that Grian had with some of the hermits about their bases and just talking. It’s so great to know that the hermits have deep knowledge of everything and the Hermitcraft server is just a big happy connected family. I love it so much. Grian also shows how much respect he has for the other hermits and the respect everyone has for each other. It’s all just amazing. ❤❤
In a world that seems to become more polarized and less tolerant each day, this episode (and the Hermitcraft server as a whole) is a beacon of positivity and joy. Those signs Grian put down just warmed my heart. What a great way to close the curtain. If there ever were an opportunity to vote Grian into some kind of real life leadership position, I would do it in a heartbeat. I'm not even joking. Bringing people together to celebrate the joys of life is an amazing quality. Good job dude.

The drumming was actually recorded by Impulse, and the drumming animation was done with the Statues book and redstone, also by Impulse. And yes, the tickets handlers standing at the front gate are animated, you're not imagining things. Scar took an extra care of them to make them not so stationary and gave them some life.

The end to this video hit me so hard. The length of this season and how much I've changed over it and how Hermitcraft was there the whole time is crazy to me. Thanks for an amazing story Grian. See you in Season 10

The gem, pearl and impulse base goes to show the strongest part of hermitcarft in terms of both entertainment for us and enjoyment for hermits is collaboration. I hope season 10 gives us a lot of base collaborations in close proximity, might revitalise some of the enjoyment of hermitcraft that a few hermits have seemingly lost recently
True, both the Soup guys' bases and the Boatem bases, both of which were both made in extremely close proximity, turned out some of the best and most creative in the history of Minecraft builds, and not to even begin talking about the Hermitopia tower! Hermits' ability to collaborate is unmatched and their ability to coordinate seemingly without any plans in an almost hive mind sort of way is extremely impressive, not to mention how good the overall social interractions are.
I havent watched gem's hermitcraft but honestly, seeing her base... it terrifies me. i need to know what the hell went in her episodes sheesh
and man... what an amazing ending to an amazing season. it was fantastic to see your appreciation for every member and also... this made me want to check on a couple more people. i had NO idea what joe and false had been doing, for example.
and about the funny moments, a bunch of them were heavily reliant on scar. mr goodtimes indeed. he brings joy wherever he goes.
and oh did i get emotional with tfc's segment.
hopefully this next season will bring the community together more! it was fantastic every time you all collaborated on stuff

the first hermitcraft episode i ever watched was yours back when you first joined in season 6, but this was the first season i ever kept up with until the very end. didnt miss a single episode and even started watching a bunch of the other hermits and even the empires guys too. i started living on my own in a new town not long before season 9 started and its been kind of a lonely 2 years for me ngl. thanks for keeping me company these past few years, even if it was just one-sided through a screen.

Grian’s ability to bring people together through community/server events is truly amazing to me. I’ll never forget the amazing times I had watching everyone’s perspectives.

@@Anoneemus_Noenaymethe best moments on the server are the ones where the hermits collaborate together. Before Grian there was a huge lack of community projects and events. Yeah there were some, but nothing like the post Grian season.
Big part of Hermitcraft is the massive builds, and yeah you can argue that some bases didn't get finished because there was so much collaboration and events, but the best parts of the new seasons are the events and collabs coordinated by Grian.
And finally, why go to this comments section just to bash on the creator that the video is for? Watch who you want and let us watch who we want.

I’ll admit, I’m one of the folks the Empires crossover didn’t do it for. My specific brand of autism means I don’t cope very well when the things I rely on for comfort and continuity change. But Hermitcraft isn’t made solely for me, and I am unshakeably glad that you did it because you wanted to. Because it sounds like it was so, so, SO much fun, and it’s fun you all deserve to have as friends! Hermitcraft is as much for its players as its audience, more so, even. You all have done incredible work this season and that includes the work you do primarily or solely for yourselves. Not to mention it sounds like it was still fantastic for a vast number of viewers, and everything you create puts so much of that beautiful joy out into the world, no matter where or for whom specifically it lands. The moment at TFC's base really hit a spot for me and drove it home how much this season helped me through. While this season has gone on a lot in my own life has changed. In the time this season has gone on I've graduated college, gone to MLS school, dropped back out, watched my mom pass, sold my childhood home, moved to a different state, gone back to MLS school, and just 3 weeks ago I started clinicals. This season has been there for me through everything. I hope you, Hermits, all know that while you may just make some content on the internet, Sometimes it's someone's only life constant. And the silly prank wars and builds can be an important keystone in someone's life at times.

I can't believe how much I had forgotten happened in this series! From the entity to Grumbot, Ren's kingly rampage, the rift crossover, blowing up Doc's machine and Mumbo's whole vault idea. It also blew my mind that this series started in March of 2022 when I was in my first year of college and in just a few more short months I will be graduating with my bachelors (in geology, loved the rock base lol) 😭😭
I know, I've been watching since the beginning of this one and this is my first time starting a season with everyone else. This is the only online Minecraft fan base that isn't incredibly toxic.

I absolutely loved this season, empires crossover, grumbot and the rift, buttercups vs goat. It was incredible. Everyone worked so hard on all their projects, ive only seen Grian's "perspective" and I am stunned. The entire rest of members have their own stories which will also be so breathtaking.

I think the best moments are when you are interacting with other hermits, you’ve been so phenomenal and achieved so much. Thank you season 10 is going to be amazing.
The minute he put the first sign down I was in tears. Sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up as a viewer in the storylines and the personas and individual projects, but moments like putting those signs down is a wonderful reminder that these are real people who are really friends and care about each other. There’s so much pride in Grian’s voice here that fills me with such joy. Season 9 is one of the best seasons in the history of this server for that familial love and pride.

😂 You're right about the first sign, but in all fairness, the way that was written was like 2 best friends sharing a long-running joke. The height of all complements. I really loved that part. All of season 9 was amazing! It's really cool to look back on it and think about those episodes we all looked forward too and talked about with friends! Hermitcraft has been such an amazing thing in both the Minecraft accomplishments and as an awesome story to watch and laugh at, that brings people together.

this was during the diamond tower competition; someone sunk a pile of diamonds down ~20 blocks and put that "quicksand" around it to add some story!
I feel like Grian's learnt a lot at the end of this season about why seasons 6 and 7 were so good. They are considered the golden age of Hermitcraft by many (including myself) and I think nobody really knew why things started to grind down to a halt slowly over the last couple of years. Grian here made me realise that the very act of getting used to the routine of things is what ruins the spontaneous fun that was so very present in the golden age. You plan a build so that it will be better when you put it onto the server but in doing so you remove the spontaneity of the whole thing and so subtly and silently it loses it's flare. You build up a schedule attempting to be more productive and suddenly there's no life in what you do, because instead of a bit of fun, it becomes another step in completing your day. Looks like Grian has realised this too, so I cannot express how excited I am for the next season

I think a big part of why Season 9 has only 50 episodes is because you did 3 separate life series while Season 9 was going on. Considering each one takes 1-2 months to complete, and you don’t really play on Hermitcraft much while making them, it essentially took away 3-6 months of your time to make Hermitcraft videos
a lot of people wonder why this season felt so short [ignoring how it's the longest one we've had] or why a lot of the hermits felt so burnt out: this is a massive reason why. having to record three seperate life series projects while also trying to balance hermitcraft would be too much for most people. makes me wonder why they even did that in the first place honestly

@@obbinssI think it actually helped season 10 continue, because it was some other thing to do besides hermitcraft so they had breaks inbetween when they wanted to do something else besides hermitcraft, helped keep things fresh!

This is the first ever episode I've watched of HermitCraft (late to the party ik lol) and I am absolutely blown away! I had heard of the massive creations but couldn't have even imagined their true scale! I will DEFINITELY be watching the next season, and may have to watch this one from the start... Absolutely breathtaking the amount of time, effort and soul poured into every build and each connection on this server! Just amazing!
Assuming there are 22 hermits, you were the only one missing from gem's head dungeon. I see that a a complete win.

To make it a bit more even: I really loved the Empires Arc. I was a bit sad, that the Kings Storyline got cut a little bit short due to it, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I already was watching some of the empires stuff due to watching Pearl. But I really grew fond of some more of the empires folks, that I didn't watch before. You all had the funniest encounters and seeing all the hermits work together on one enormous monstrosity of a build was incredible. That was, what I enjoyed the most: This Community. And it is, what I always enjoy the most: You guys hanging out and doing stuff together. It's not important to me, if you build massive things or just goofin' around. Seeing you enjoying the company of each other is one of the most wholesome things of all of mincecraft youtube.
Your Videos were what brought me into Hermitcraft and I enjoy them a lot. You are not just a builder, you are an entertainer, you brought so much life to hermitcraft. The content creator is a perfect example for this. You (and others) made the funniest things out of three little pieces of paper. That is, what entertainment and creativity is all about. Thanks for doing all this and bringing so much joy.

I’m speaking as someone who literally JUST got into Hermitcraft with season 10, and I just want you to know that this is a message for all the Hermits, your sense of community and brother/sister/sibling-hood with one another is something to behold. It brings a small tear of joy to my eye to look back at what came before and just see what you all are able to do in tandem of one another, and I just can’t help but wish I had that type of connection with literally anyone. I don’t say this often, but it is truly beautiful

i love how you notice the small things in everyones builds, and the amount of effort that they really put into everything; the signs everywhere honestly made me tear up! i love that you recognise that you shouldnt compare your builds to others, as you'll just be stuck in an endless cycle
as i only very recently started watching this series, watching the end clips made me just look back and made me think "that was so long ago?" this series was honestly a blast to watch, from your pranks with scar and mumbo to your such personal but awesome style of building! this series has made me laugh so much in the 2 or 3 weeks it took me to watch it and even though i missed it by just a month, watching this episode at any point is bound to make anyone cry
its so amazing how sentimental you are, bringing back things from older seasons like grumbot, inspiration from the barge and the huge legs on the entitiy, and how awesomely you manage to tie these things in with new ideas like the content machine, evil empires grumbot and im sure theres more!
this is me just being a sappy saddo but i really enjoyed this series, and i cannot wait to see what's to come in season 10, and also in the life series and anything else you plan to do!

Never thought id be crying at a Minecraft video, but here I am, the fact this season has been with me for 2 years of my life has provided me with a rock that has marked my growth, at the end of this video, I looked back at myself and I realised, this series has been with me throughout some tough times and has made me laugh when I’m at my lowest. Grian, thank you for everything you have done, don’t let anyone tell you you’re “running out of ideas” or “not talented enough for this” have fun with what you are making because even if they’re too scared to write about it you are changing lives and helping people just baby enjoying time with your friends and that is a gift, so take care of yourself, and keep doing what you do best
I open up CZcams while my kid is in dance class to see pearls first episode of season 10. Immediately popped over.....I understand you have a wife and life. Sad that I have to break my streak. I started watching hermit craft after finding you on CZcams during season 7. I would wait but I'm too excited for season 10. Looking forward to your first episode when you release.
The Soup Groups base is honestly amazing. The 3 styles being so different but they way they made it work together rather then clashing is an achievement. Almost inspired by Boatem, but actually mixing together rather then just being separate. It's something I hope will be done one season. Just everyone building all their bases close and finding ways to connect them with no true planning.

ive watched you play hermit craft since season 6, the very beginning, you are honestly one of my favorite creators, your humor, your builds, really everything is amazing, i love the way you interact with other people and how far youve come, im so excited for season 10 and you best bet ill be watching all the way till the end!
Quite a late comment, but this was my first ever Hermitcraft season. Now, I am younger, a teenager, so I haven't seen many earlier seasons, but this was just amazing. From the builds and chaos to even friendships, I love them all. Limited life, Double life, and even Secret life always made me gitty wondering what would happen next. I stumbled across Grian years ago, same with Mumbo, but truly understanding what they do and have done, along with all the other hermits, always leaves me in awe. My ex originally showed me Hermitcraft begging me to watch and I'm so glad I did. This fandom is among the most welcomed and loving I've ever seen.
In total, thank you to all; including Grian and other hermits, for giving people childhoods, creativity, a place to be accepted, something to look forward to, surprise and suspension, and more words I don't know how to spell or that are too long. Truly, it is a wonderful experience that I will never take for granted.
