I do a fair amount of bunkers and a few tips that may help:
-Sprinting around at all times negates pretty much all enemy fire, the AI can't aim at you fast enough unless you run in a straight line towards/away from them.
-Using middle mouse wheel when you have any weapon in your hand will knock out the enemy (or insta-kill them if its a knife). It's pretty fast and can be used to get your first gun.
-Carrying a medpen as well as a med gun can be very handy in situations where you only have a few seconds to get health back (like in the video). Get used to hitting "c" quickly and then left clicking. I've managed to save myself when the game only gave me 2 seconds until death.

My favorite ship in the game. When I CCU'ed mine up to a BMM, I hated myself for doing it so I finally had to buy another. I remember a Star Trek episode where the Klingons had disdain for "luxury" Federation ships (must have been Drake fans). This ship reminds me more of Star Trek's luxury exploration ships than any other in the game.

Yup don’t need to apply a CCU! That’s especially unnecessary when the target ship hasn’t even been released.
Have done exactly the same thing and ask myself every time, why did I apply the CCU already.
I CCU'd mine to a BMM as well, and thinking about buying another, even though my Corsair does everything the 600i does (except with less shields). 600i at least with the planned rework will be very useful I think, at some point.
Try bunkers mission with a Carrack, respawn right next to the base, makes it easier if the A.I. gets the jump on you.
600i is getting a Med bed

Best daily driver for me is the 400i. Not too small and not too big. Just perfect for most stuff :)
except combat. Anytime you take a shot to the hull you spin out of control. Minimal storage space. No clearance for hover vehicles unless you plan on dragging your face on the bottom of the ship.

I wish it was. 400i should really have comparable utility and firepower to a Cutlass Black being it's meant to be a multiclass in similar price range but it's lacking on every front compared to a Cutty or Freelancer which it should really just be a flashy luxury version of. CIG needs to buff 400i to at least be as functional as the cutty/freelancer IMO
@@wyqydsyq I couldn't agree more. When I first tried out the 400, the first thing I noticed was how slowly it rotated. I then spent a good 15 minutes trying to blow up one cutlass black. Ship to ship combat is one of the core features of Star Citizen. If you fly around, you are bound to get attacked. You need the proper defenses to counter such a moment, especially as an explorer vessel. It takes 50 seconds to blow up a cutlass with perfect aim compared to cutlass black that would take 14 seconds to blow up that same cutty. It's just horribly misbalanced. Even an RSI Mantis can outperform a 400, destroying the cutlass 11 seconds faster than a 400i is capable. Sadly the aurora is actually pretty similar in firepower to the 400 stock. To make matters worse, the moment you take hull damage, you will usually find yourself spinning. Once you start to spin, there's usually no hope. Its easier and faster to self destruct than trying to get it somewhere you can repair it. As an explorer vessel you would expect it able to take quite a few hits, since it was demonstrated as a good vessel for pyro (which has minimal access to repair and rearm). The main feature of this ship is being able to run away, which it does great in space. But trying to do it in atmosphere is basically suicide. You are a big target, incapable of fighting back.
The solution is simple for this ship, move the bottom turret lower to be able to shoot where the pilot is shooting, stretch the landing legs to raise the clearance, and raise the thrust & damage tolerance of the thrusters so u can turn at a similar speed to the 600i (which should not turn as quickly as a smaller vessel) and not spin the moment a few bullets hit your hull. The s4 hard points in the front are a little pathetic compared to similar sized ships and should be replaced with s5, but with the turret on the bottom now able to fire forward, you will at least be less of a target.
I know this will probably never happen, which is a shame because its such a nice looking ship, but, I really do hope they take a second look at it. For now I think I'm going to save up and upgrade to a 600i. I'm tired of flying a glorified aurora around.
only downside on the 400i is the pilot view imo. Whenever i have a bridge that far back i like to see my ship in front of me. the 400i pilot view cant see the long front at all. just because of this i melted it within a day.

They should first test out "small persistence", by keeping ships, cargo and inventory items at lockers or storage in the port they where parked at. And only retrievable there. And see how people even like that mechanic.
I would love that in theory, but I suspect something like that wouldn't appeal to most gamers who are too accustomed to modern game laziness.
@@TheRevanchists it’s more the fact that most people have absolutely no time to play their PC, especially if they’re working a full time job, But this feature wouldn’t even waste your time that much most likely, especially if it’s already in there waiting for you to come get it.

All your ships and station hatches have environmental shields that are invisible if the hatch opens to space (like in Star Trek), so you can open hatches in your underwear. You just can't go into space itself. That way you could have used a tractor beam on your multitool to grab stuff.
I love my 600i I fly it all the time. I wish they'd add medical beds in it somewhere. It's an explorer ship so you'd think they'd want a medical components in case you get hurt while exploring
I'm hoping it gets a medical component on par with the Carrack when it goes through gold star rework

For me, a ‘daily driver’ needs to have a ship interior to qualify, in order to enable more than just one or two of the gameplay loops (for example, you cannot do Breach and Steal with a light fighter). As such, my top daily drivers over the last year have included the Avenger Titan, the Banu Defender, the Carrack and the 400i. They all have advantages and disadvantages over one another of course, but in many ways the most versatile for me is the 400i. Incredibly fast, very good handling for its size, capable of carrying some ground vehicles, decent storage, a cold room for storing dead bodies you tractor in. After not being too thrilled with the 400i when I first picked one up, it’s really grown on me and is my current daily driver.
As an example of how it can handle itself, a Scorpius tried to engage me the other day. Obviously it would stand no chance against a dedicated heavy fighter, but the Scorpius had zero chance of being able to keep up with me as I flew extremely fast and low through mountains and then up and away into atmosphere. It just couldn’t keep up, an example of a ship strength is having an offset to its weaknesses (ie not packing much of a punch in terms of weapons).
I like the MSR as a daily driver, but I really need to improve the weapons and shields on it. The other downside is that the thing guzzles gas like crazy and it's SUPER expensive to refuel.
I feel like you love luxury ship.
400i , 990 jump , constellations phoenix and now the 600i
I recommend sticking with the S5 cannons...
While it does have an S3 shield, which can take a lot of damage, it benefits from the range of the cannons, allowing it to deal effective damage without risk... because the hull is paper - the total hull hit points are roughly twice that of a light fighter, in a much larger, slower, and easier to hit target. The S5 cannons also get a sizeable damage output boost relative to other weapons, when compared to smaller weapon tiers.
Oli also discovered that the shield holes are still present in 3.17.2, and it takes a couple of hits from ballistic fire to blow a 600i.
A Connie has around 5 times the Hull HP as a 600i
I know I'm not unique with my pick, but my daily driver has been the msr for a while now
MSR and Nomad have been my go-to for now.
My favorite for daily driving is the 400i. Very classy, some rooms, but small enough to be manuverable.

Yea this a relatively early ship, with quite a few new extras missing, and a lot of unused/empty/wasted space (specially on the bridge). Maybe by the time i build a PC that can run the game, most of the early ships gets a "facelift".
The 600i Explorer is literally the only ship I care to own. Perfect platform for ALL my intended experiences - exploration / medical rescue / humanitarian aid / espionage / assassination. Been flying it since it released it got PTU in June 2018.
And it's actually S-Tier for NPC bounties, but the hull health is set unintentionally low at just like 29k. And frankly with HRTs, the fighters are a bigger threat to you than the Hammerhead because the 600i is faster than the Hammerhead and can generally avoid being hot much by it.
I’m still somewhat on the fence between 400i and 600iE… All the things 600i has going for it + rework soon(TM). But 400i has the magnificent beak.
PS Am I the only one that thinks both 400i and 600i look best in the green and grey St. Patrick’s Day paint?
The green does look very nice on both.
The Green is my favorite skin for it. The BiS skin is also nice with the Metallic shine. It'll hopefully look great with this year's BiS as well 🙏
thats when I got my 400 & 600 with MSR and Phoenix and some truck , the 400i looks amazing in that green not so sure about the MSR or the phoenix and still not 100% with the 600i colours but its easier to change the paint once you have the green :)
400i has such bad visibiity
A snub fighter would be nice, barring that and considering the rework planned, I love this ship.
A 100i fitted into the hull like how the constellation has would be so great.

I just got this too! Upgraded it. It's strong from far away too. I've even taken out small ships by boosting backwards and turning.
I use an Ursa or a RC rover for bunkers. That red racing rover is crazy fast and handles way better.
RC Tumbler has glass HP, though. Dies to a simple rock or tumble. I use the Tumbler Transport, since you can put boxes in the back and store items in the cargo hold, plus it's super fast.
I absolutely loved the 600i I grinded out 2 days irl before the 314 update/wipe. Yep I finally got the cash to not just buy it but customize it in game 2 days before they wiped everyone's accounts. Which actually pissed me off to be honest. I only flew it 1 time before the wipe. Right after I got the ship I had accidently deleted my main account character in gtav so it was a bit more important for me to grind out getting my levels and hp back up so all my cars were fully customized and I had all the unlocks again for the new character. So that took me about 3 months and when I came back into star citizen to play with the new ships I grinded out like the 600i the Saber stealth fighter the Gladius and another ship I don't remember the name of right now. So yeah after grinding for over a month to get these ships in game I was very angry about loosing them just after getting them and the 4.5 million credits I also had left after the upgrades on the 600i. Then only to also find that all the ships weapons systems were also nurffed as well.
Bro I was thinking I had to wait until November to get my 600i . But thanks to the ship showdown I was able to get it earlier. I am so happy to finally get this ship in my fleet 😀

The 600i has grown on me for looks and it occupies a happy medium between the 400i and the 800j. If I buy a big ship in game this is one of those ships I will buy despite already owning 27 other ships.

Best daily driver for me has to be the carrack.. have my c8x pisces in the hangar and an ursa rover in the vehicle bay, tier 2 medical bed and good firepower if you have a crew. If i plan on doing combat related things i can just as easily put an arrow in the hangar with the landing gear up, and if you open the ladder after exiting it anchors the ship to the ground, allowing you to close the top and QT etc.
Last time I played I spent half an hour clearing a bunker and moving everything to the lift to find my ship destroyed. While doing that I accidentally killed a guard. At least I had what I came in with a little more. When I popped back up in grim hex I launched, got rammed, exploded, lost everything, and haven't played in a month.

I know I am late to the comments but I liked this video because you showed what Star Citizen is actually like to play. Yes, it can be very frustrating at times, especially those sudden deaths and magically spawning NPCs. Also grats on owning the 600iE.
I bought a 600i on Monday but I went with the other version, the luxury one. Its much nicer looking. I know they said it wont matter which you buy because the module that makes it look cool will be inter changeable so you will essentially have both ships anyways by swapping out the module.
The only thing that changes between them is the space near the cockpit with the extra seating area is turned into a ground vehicle hangar and cartography station on the top deck. That's it. The rest of the ship is the same. So the Explorer has more utility as it can carry a vehicle.
As to your point about swapping out the modules, that would require you to own both of the modules. The Explorer does not grant you access to the Touring and vice versa. However, they are working on rebuilding the ship interior altogether, adding a medical bed, etc. So who knows how things will be setup after that refactor.

I love the 600i for sure...one of the best ships in the game. Some days are just not great days in SC. Your adventure today reminds me of a few my own...stubborn determination. LOL Well done!!

I hope they release an Exploration or Do-Everything version of the 890-J. I love flying a big ship but would happily trade the super luxury section for more operational things
The Constellation Taurus is almost certainly the best daily driver. Big cargo space, big guns, big shield, can take the XL-1 fast quantum drive... you can do everything except PvP, and even PvP is not hopeless if you have a gunner. I've pledged a Freelancer but before 3.18 I'm probably upgrading to the Taurus.
Which Freelancer do you have? I'm becoming more and more tempted to get a Freelancer Max.
@@billywashere6965 I got the base model. It's a great little allrounder, but the downsides are that it's a little narrow. Can't fit a Cyclone in it. Visibility out the window is also a little cramped. But it flies great and can also use the XL-1, and the 4 size 3 guns are decent. The Max is similar, just takes more cargo basically. If you're thinking of the Max (120 SCU cargo, size 3 guns) you should really test drive a Constellation too. 174 SCU cargo on the Taurus, and size 4 (or 5, without gimbal) guns, and one whole size larger shield. But, the Max is probably more fun to fly and the extra size makes it easy to haul vehicles vs my base Freelancer.
I predict this ship to be number 1 for go to for nearly everyone if they go through with the L2 med bed. Seems perfect for almost anything except long distance travel and cargo running. It has a cartography deck which begs the question why does it have such a short Q range. It has a range of around 400 million K while a carrack has a range around 800mk. For example a Cutlass Black has a range around 300mk. If you change out Q drive you can give or take, but the Carrack is double the 600i.
This is totally like one of my okay sessions. Ending up with 3 ships parked in front of a bunker.
You should really use medpens instead of the medgun. As soon as you get shot, press C and the left mouse button while you run away. Fiddling around with the jaggy inventory will get you killed

What i like to do is put those S5 cannons to work and snipe the HH. You can actually kill the HH without being shot at, as you have more range with the S5 cannons than the HH with it's S4 repeaters. The 600i is, in a way, kinda what the Ares Ion should've been. o7
For a while I used gimbaled CF-447 on my 600i specifically for bunker missions. The ship has enough shield to take out all five turrets and land in front of any bunker.
ill go back to the 600i for bunkers once they fix the instant respawn turrets lol until then its the C8X so I can hide behind bushes near by
Dude Ollie I did every single ehrt group bounties in my harbinger every day I played star citizen several times a day. These are the bounties I did to get the 600i and all the other ships I had. I. Total I had 22 ships and every land vehicle except the tanks and the biggest wheeled vehicles.
Can't wait for the internal rework to come out, it will have a bigger cargo and tier 2 med bed. Docking collar loading area moved from the middle to the back, crew quarters reworked as it has so much waste of space.

You wont see a rework until 5years from now when they get to the other reworks of a dozen other ships.

Seems great minds think alike. With 120 seconds of fire time, it's a great gun with fantastic endurance. And let me tell you, the B stands for Beast.

I wish they move the rear turret to the very top so it has better coverage. I don't get why ships get the Freelancer treatment with a hump designed to only obstruct turret view.
33:25 - 'i remember why i stopped doing these missions' haha... i know that was just words from the spur of the moment, but retrospectively, you probably realize that all of the things that led to your death were none of the games fault though, haha... been there though, it can be frustrating or hilarious, haha... i used to do what you, go into a bunker with one mag, and be extra cautious and pick people off from afar. I quickly found out that was not the strat, and nowadays go in with at least 3-4 mags strapped to my belt (ammo comes to you for free from looting all the dead bodies in the bunkers, so why not use it), and actually dont play passive. run into the bunker, move quick, only pause and stop behind cover when waiting for heartbeat to drop... take out the ai before it has a chance to spin around to notice you.
bunkers are now my most enjoyable part of the game (when the AI is not rubber-banding 5 meters 3 times over 1 second, haha). i recommend it!

The 600i is by-and-far the best ship I own. I can’t wait for the rework, because when it has a medbed, it’ll truly compete with its competitor in size- the Carrack.
lets be clear, as a long time owner of this ship (been flying it for the last 3+ years), it used to fly better so dogfighting was semi possible and it hull health was better. now it has the same level hull health as a frickin freelancer! this thing is no longer able to fight in combat and it went from my absolutely favorite ship in game to being something i almost never fly. you said it does everything except turn well. it also doesnt do hull health or hull armour. this thing could have been and was a bad boy. currently the 400i have something like 3-4 times the hull health so im hoping this was a bug and will be fixed on the rework. it is the main reward to big time spenders (the black and gold 600i executive edition) so i assume that CIG will make it special. i need to get a vanguard. been meaning to get one for literally years
I love my 600i explorer, especially now with the Stella Fortuna paint. The dark green with tinted windows and a matching Stella Fortuna Ursa is just gorgeous. I'm anxiously awaiting the G12, though I'm a bit concerned that the G12 is basically a Cyclone with an Ursa's wheelbase. I do the same, Military Grade A components all around. I'd love for the 600i to be my daily driver, but one of the biggest problems I have is that the cargo lift isn't connected to the vehicle inventory. The problems with the 600i have really sold me on the 400i as my daily driver. The 400i is blazingly fast. It can carry a Nox and a Cyclone, it doesn't have the 3x S5s but the 2x S4s still pack a punch.
I'm pretty sure that was a random ship explosion. I've had that happen to me in the 600i Explorer and Touring.
Origin should focus less on making things pretty and pay more attention to quality control before this sort of thing damages their reputation. If it keeps up the UEE Galaxy Transportation Safety Administration (think NHTSA) is going to force them to have a recall.
As a smuggler/outlaw i go with the 400i for the small size, very high speed and big shields not to mention it's perfect for long journeys out in space
600I is still one of my favorite ships. welcome to the club. Had that same problem with desynch in the buckers with the AI. It can be frustrating but you handled it like a champ.

Great video and awesome ship You could get 3 size 5 gimbols and put AD4Bs on them or size 4 repeaters, gimbols will help u hit better waist less ammo, also let them chase you out of the astorid field

That death down below in the bunker was totally server desync. I played it back a bunch of times and noticed that the guy came out of the elevator or the spawn closet right in front of you. Problem is he had already popped out of there and was already shooting at you before you saw anything.

for some bizarre reason I keep getting hanger 12 on area 18, getting to an aurora chilling in the middle of the hanger is fun

soo you can actually leave ur door open, as long as you don't walk down the ramp you'll have enough air. Works like that in all ships. air only gets low right next to doors - like RIGHT next to them.
I'm mostly doing mining and transport so if I am going shooting it's with more then just myself. Never know if a player might try to ambush or something dumb happens so i like numbers.
To me the 400i is a great ship for a live-aboard daily driver. Really only needs 1-2 friends for crewing it and it could be solo flown since it has so many missiles and 2 pilot weapons. It also handles pretty well for a ship that size and is pretty quick to accelerate and has a really nice top speed as well. The single s3 shield genny makes it able to take a beating and get away with your cargo/gear without dying. The living quarters aren't near as nice as the 600's though obviously but it's still luxury, think a 40ft Princess sports cruiser yacht vs an 80ft Princess Flybridge.
And to be fair, Gatling Guns dont suck, they just suck on small ships, a Constellation with AD4B and AD5B shred quite good and the Ammo is good enough for a while, you dont need to rearm that often.

Oh I already decided awhile ago that my main ships will be Origin. When I played Elite I "mained" Imperial ships. It's so much better in Star Citizen. I don't know if I'll use the 400i or the 600i more regularly, but I eventually plan to buy them all with (a)UEC.
I take a rather 'Puritan' view to ships, form follows function sort of thing. The 600i (whatever variant) is more about being 'Corporate' than anything else, and hospitality in negotiating deals out in the Boonies. I do wonder what the differences are with each variant though, and what is the same.
Mine is named “Nom Chompsky” and looks fantastic in the foundation raw metal and teal.

I have had this ship since its concept announcement. I never let it go.
Apart from the fact that it has a completely shitty interior design, I also reproach it for its size (planned for 60m and competing directly with the connie) but especially its moldy speed. When it was released, it was slower than a reclaimer...

Yes but the wipes happen every 3months all the way up to over a year in between
400i has become my daily driver for most things and the ship i use to travel across stanton . it can carry a small vehicle , i feel that the 600i is a bit big for a daily driver but it could work as long as your making enough to cover its fuel costs ammo costs ect , but is prob the biggest ship i would use for one , but i feel ships like the 400 , constellation might be better for daily drivers for there sizes

Always wear noob suit when running bounty and fly into range to activate main bounty target then strafe up to empty space NPC will follow to edge off asteroid field. Way to easy to clip ship and die by asteroid during combat. Good build for VHRT but must repair, restock before hunting HH.

It has no Med-Bed. That's my biggest bummer and why I stayed on the Carrack. For my daily drives I use C8X and Avenger Titan.
I tried to do a couple of bounty missions in the 600i (loaded with AD5Bs) and it took forever because I couldn't get more than a couple of shots on target at a time lol
The 600i currently has a shield bug so ( as was shown in the video) you can get one shot killed. At the moment I’m not taking it out for that reason.
idk why but i feel like when i see this ship they should create a new type of ship, well 3 ships, cause this ships exterior gives me vibes of marvels tricarrier a vehicle that can separate into 3 vehicles, just imagine that u and ur friends are about to go into a battle and the enemy has back up appear, then ur two friends get to the two other cockpits and the three of u separate and fight
