The Westcott FJ400 is a powerful and easy to use strobe. It gave me accurate color, plenty of shots, tons of options in terms of light modifyers from both Westcott and other brands, the ability to use different camera systems with the FJ-X2M wireless trigger and the option of using existing third party strobes or speedlites with the FJ-XR.
All-in-all, for $569 the #westcott #fj400 represents a very good value in my book and I think if you’re getting into using a strobe this is definitely an option you should consider.

Tech Gear Talk Thank you sir... i have a canon 5d mark iv n a m50. But my question is can a sony lens (70-200) fit in either of these 2 cameras ? Wat are the complications etc
what i have never heard to talk about is if in edition you work in the original raw file or in copy?
thanks for your videos, its really useful))) i have a question: do you ever thinking about comparison EF lenses and EF-m lenses with same or close focal length and aperture wich is brighter?
Would love to see the starter tutorial for editing the raw images
Let me see what I can put together.
Me too... has this been done yet? Thanks
Saame
@@TechGearTalk Would still be amazing 🤩

Thank you, I just got the M50 Mark II, a little over a week ago & its been a an amazing camera so far, its a huge upgrade from my iPhone XR, I didn't know how the camera auto focused or how to focus it all the way but now you made that a lot more clear, thank you.
Thanks for the tips! Just picked up the M50 and have taken it out just one time. This helped me understand a little bit more what I need to do to get the most out of my camera for landscape stills, video and moving subjects.
I got my M50 MKII last week Tuesday. Finally a video breaking down the autofocus settings such as Face Tracking, Zone and 1 Point.
I’ve been following you since the very beginning of my photography journey. I have learned so much from you and I also have an M50 plus all the lenses you mentioned in the video + more stuff.Totally worth it. You still the best dude out there! Keep the good work.

I bought this camera 2 years ago and decided to improve my knowledge. Great video ! Thank you
Love my M50 and it took the place of my G16 in the vehicle. Uh my Big Canon T3i with it's 4 different lens sits in my room unused in the last years. I do a lot of shots on the move so even after a year of playing with it and 100's of pictures I still learn from videos such as yours, Thanks for the time and effort you put into them. My on camera lens is the 18-150 though I have two kit lens also , the 15-45 and 55-200. Going to try the 15-45 for a few runs as I seldom go over 50. Again thanks for the info.
Thank you for all the content about the M50! Love the detail you go into with the shots if the camera's menu. Makes it so much easier for me to find them on mine.
You're very welcome. So glad it's helpful .

I recently bought a Tamron 18-400mm and Viltrox ef-fx1 adapter for my M50. It’s a great lens. Because of the cropped sensor, I can get up to 650mm. Can’t wait to take it on my travels.

I already learned so much about the M50. I have been using this camera as my first "real" camera and people have complimented my photos a lot. Thanks for that!
OMG - I'm so excited for you to get the 56mm!!! I will keep putting out M50 content for sure!
@@TechGearTalk The 56mm just arrived. And it absolutely delivers! The portraits are super sharp and the bokeh is exactly what I wanted. Together with my Sigma 16mm and the kit lens, I feel completely ready for all the things I want to shoot.

Digging the camera still?
This guy is the type o guy you want as a friend to drink a beer and talk about photography...great job also!!
Thank you for explaining when to use the different focus modes. Wish someone had made this video when i first got the camera. I used it for both video and stills. All i could find were videos on using it as a video camera.
I'm super glad it was helpful! Thank you for the kind words and for being part of the community 🙏
I'm a M50 user and these tips helps alot despite seeing some negative reviews in the past.
So glad I could help Joseph!
Just bought a Cannon M50 to get into manual photography 😁 Thanks for your tips, I have a lot of learning ahead of me
I'm in the exact same place. I just received my camera. LOL
Great video. I like most of it, but could you make a video on how to best use the M50 in manual mode? I find it has minimal buttons to adjust the settings making manual mode difficult to use. That said, I am a relatively new user.
Thanks
Just cant stop watching your videos and soaking up all this info. Youre a saint for helping the way you are!
So glad I could help!
I just came across your channel, I absolutely love it and will be referring you to my photographer and videographer friends
So glad the video was helpful. Welcome to the channel!
Thank you for this well informative tutorial. I'm starting new myself and want to get familiar with these functions.
Every beginner arguing the R5 overheating as if they were pros instead of being here learning from Sagi as we do, plus! a gift at the end??? Thanks man!
Hope it was helpful and enjoyable! Appreciate the support!
Thanks for the video
It was really helpful
Thankyou bro great video. You seem genuine and easy to listen to🙏🏼
Great presentation. Your view on using the nifty 50 with the M50 Mark II for portraits
Good video bud. I got the 22mm Canon about a year ago based off of your recommendation and LOVE it. Need to get the 16mm next.
Thank you sooooo much for this video and your channel! I have just bought the M50 camera and I am so nervous and stressed of taking pictures of people and nature. But now I feel like 1000000 per cent better! Thank you so much!
I also would like to ask a question about the lenses - I want to buy canon EF-50mm f/1.USM. Could you please give me your advice or opinion about this?
Just got a new M50 and have do idea how to use it! Thanks for the tips and tricks here!!
First time here good video nicely explained
Very informative. Thank you so much. Keep it coming please.
lol.
I used to shoot in full manual mode years ago.. with film camera of course.. love that depth of field preview.. digital Cameras just aren't the same
Great video on the m50, I learned a few things today!! Considering I've got more than 2k invested in Canon lenses + using the booster mount, what camera for outdoor photography would you recommend as a worthwhile upgrade - Canon or other?
Thank you for the video ! Cheers !

Please keep making videos about the Canon M50! I’m a new subscriber and have been watching your videos for hours 😭
Will continue to do my best
I just got the m50 and I'm really looking forward to use it on the weddings I will have to shoot next week
A great tutorial for a beginner! I will be coming back often to view it and your other videos to get the most out of them. I have a question: when i turn my camera on and open the screen I get this message: 'Cards write protect switch is set to lock". How can I undo that? I'd appreciate anyone's help
love your explaination very detailed .. thank you !
Glad it was helpful! Appreciate you being part of the channel!
Great video! I’m a beginner so sometimes it’s easy to get overwhelmed with how to use my m50 but I swear your videos get me inspired to pick it back up and start shooting! Do you have a video on how you organize/ backup your photos on your computer? I use a Mac and I’m not sure if the apple photo app is the best way to keep everything organized with iCloud, etc.
So glad I could help Charlotte. I don't have a video about that but I will make one.
Thanks for this video. Helped me out.
Thanks a ton you for the free preset. Gonna use it on Lightroom mobile
Good Morning and thanks for this video. I've been wondering about the M50 still quality because most people discuss it in terms of vlogging. I may use if for video, but I mostly love to shoot photos. Still want to wait and see if the M50 M2 has a sealed body though since I do a lot of shooting on hiking outings. Again, thanks so much for your vids. Really helpful to the amateur.
Thanks man ! Just starting and the settings are amazing
So glad I could help! Thank you for being part of the channel!
Right time 🙏 I'm on learning curve with my M50🔥 thank you so much 👌👌👌
Doing my best!

Glad it was helpful and congrats on the lens!
Very helpful awesome content 👏
Hello, your videos and tutorials are excellent!! I just picked up an m50 and your videos are helping me immensely. What photo and video editing apps do you recommend? I’m an iOS and Mac user if that helps.
fantastic video, have been looking at purchasing the M50 for a we while now as im starting art school and need a decent camera that can be used to photograph artwork and take video for social media and website. The M50 despite being 3 years old in 2021 is an amazing camera that doesn't break the bank too bad haha. Have learnt some useful tips from this video!
I'm super glad it was helpful Stephen! CONGRATS on the new M50!!!
this is probably the most useful video I came across 💪 thanks man
Thanks for sharing your priceless experience..🙏
Thanks a lot! Quite informative!
Found you today!!! Great video learning a lot from your videos with my m50 :) thank you
So glad I can help. Thanks for being part of the channel!
Great video :)
I am actually considering getting this when I get some spare cash, I have been shooting with the Canon 2000D and feel like this would be a great jump.
The Sigma 30mm 1.4 is a wonderful lens.
It seems to cover nearly all needs I have.
But... the 22mm pancake is the first lens I use for Street Photography just becase it works in nearly every situation as the light weight small solution.
The 30mm still comes out for when the light starts disapearing.
I am also have great daytime fun with the Tamron 18-200 which is proving very useful.
So they are the three lenses I have in my bag and the bonus.... they fit the M6 II i just bought.
I wish you well and thank you for the quality content.
That's an awesome setup you have Dave! Thanks for the kind words and support!
I recently found your channel while researching this camera. You are a very helpful guy! One thing I think your views may like to consider. Regarding tip 3....when starting out try Av or TV mode. It's like manual, but you control either the aperture or shutter speed, and the camera calculates the other. Honestly, after a decade of photography I find these modes just as good as full manual in most cases. And when starting out, it's less mental overhead while shooting. I'm sure you could do a video about this too.
Welcome to the channel. I will definitely include that in the video I mentioned.
Love you! Thanks for sharing the information of canon m50!
Glad I could help!
Appreciate this. Thank you so much!
Glad I could help. Thank you for being part of the channel!
Hey dude !! I am from India .. I get a lots of information from watching your videos ..thanks man 👍
this is my first time watching this video, and first time discovering this channel and it helps a lot to me, especially I'm a beginner and planning to buy canon m50 ❤️ Great video big thumbs up for me 👍
Happy to help!
Another very helpful video for us M50 users. Thanks Sagi!
You're very welcome Ric!
i just bought a M6 mark ii and i have a question that only you can help me with, is it better to shoot underexposed or over? meaning is it better recovering highlights or shadows in post ? im experimenting with over-exposing my footage both images and videos and i obtain alot of details in post but i almost fully lose my skies ( highlights ) , thinking about trying to shoot underexposed alittle to obtain some of those skies, but i fear that i lose detail on the subject of the photo or video... you know the struggle? 😅😅
Watch some videos on how to use the histogram to set your exposure. In general expose for what matters. For example, if your most important subject is a person's face, and it's in shadow, by all means expose for the face; in this situation, you really have no choice, because skin looks terrible when underexposed, and it can't be corrected in post. Or learn about and experiment with using fill-flash for stills, or an on-camera light for video - Canon's fill-flash is quite good. I often shoot in situations where flash or lights aren't allowed and faces are the most important thing. I find that exposing for the face always works, even if the rest of the scene is blown out and unrecoverable in post. (I'll often set exposure compensation anywhere from + 2/3 to + 1 2/3.) For those situations I'm using a lens that lets me blur the background by shooting at a wide aperture; the effect can be very pleasing - flower displays in the background are overexposed but look wonderful as an abstract blur (bokeh). The lenses are the Canon EF 135mm F/2 L or a Canon EF 24-105 L IS (with Viltrox Speed Booster that makes it an F/2.8), or an inexpensive Canon 50mm F/1.8. The EF 135 and 50 lenses require a regular EF to EF-M adapter.
I’ve been watching a lot of vids on this. I think it’s better to over expose slightly (push the curves of the histo to the right of center), just not blown out. Then bring down the exposure in post. The advantage is not increasing noise by raising the shadows instead. Maybe I’m wrong.
Lifestyle Dr.Mekawi - لايف ستايل د.مكاوي هلا والله😁
I agree - I usually overexpose by 1/3 stop if I'm going to be moving around and shooting in varied lighting. But if it's unfamiliar lighting I'll test first. If there's a danger of blowing out the highlights I'll "expose for what matters." Example: outdoors in full sun at midday - I'll move in tight and shoot backlit, etc., to avoid big, blown-out patches in the frame.
I know this is 6 months old but I hope I can help: Underexposure is better. When you saturate a pixel so much that it is white ("blown out"), there is no means to recover the data in post-processing. Ever. You have the same problem with pure black but it's a lot more likely in daylight shooting to have very bright situations where areas can be overexposed than dark areas which lack data. If you are taking landscapes and losing sky details, you can either try taking two photos - one exposed for the landscape and one exposed for the sky - and then combining them in post-processing. The other option is to use a split-density filter which will give a better balance of exposure for the two different areas in your picture. I just bought my M6ii so I'm excited to get out and use it (I've been a photographer for 45 years).
I have the M50 and loads of ef lenses which work perfect using the ef adapter.
Great system and great review. 👍
Good move!
