  • Day to day goings on in Early Medieval Frisia was a topic I'd been wanting to cover for some time now. Only recently did I actually get the sources together and have a look through them to compile this video. I have a lot more content surrounding this time and place in history planned for the future but for now here's a taste. Please like and subscribe and please sub to my patreon if you have the money to do so as this will really help me to be able to make more of these videos. #history #educational #frisia #fryslân #medieval #medievaltimes #medievalhistory

This is a really good video and I love hearing more about the early medieval period and what life was like.

Saying "TaKitus" instead of "TaCitus" feels like a secret handshake between romaboos and autists. Good stuff.

In Latin "c" was always pronounced as a "k" sound. What's a romaboo?

@@stephena1196 In classical latin, yes. But most modern day latin speakers, thats is, catholic priests, speak ecclesiastical latin. Ecclesiastical latin is more similar in its pronunciation to Spanish. That means words like "Cicero" or "Celulla" are pronounced with the "C" making an "S" sound.
Young people who know this tend to be very much into all things Rome (its history, economy, its emperors and senators, its army, its wars...), and this people who are in some way obsessed with Rome are affectionally called "Romaboos" or "Romaeboos"

Interesting video, have never seen any history videos on the frisians. I only know about them from the brown cow video.

I think "Shaman" would be a more appropriate term than witch. Very informative, thank you.

Was there someone who introduced you to this stuff? I'm just curious because it's an awesome passion to have, and I'm wondering how you began this journey?
