Good for her , he committed assault , she responded
The customer maybe earned his payback, but, despite the barista's wishful thinking, did not "assault" her [12:33]. Not violently attacking her, he harassed and burdened her while maybe damaging some of her property. Or even in California law, "An assault is an unlawful attempt, coupled with a present ability, to commit a violent injury on the person of another" [§240]. If he, allegedly "a foot and half taller" than her, had assaulted her, then her reflex-to damage _his_ property before he could leave-would be absurd of our frightened damsel.
Assault can be anything that puts you in fear of battery. Battery is unlawful contact. Assault can be things thrown at you and battery can be those things hitting you. If he threw the drinks and they hit her, it was both assault and battery @@oasean
The customer was not right and lacked manners and civility. The U.S. public at large, sucks.

She could have made matters worse by breaking his window. There are too many crazy and dark spirited people out there and she could have just enraged him even more. It could have went from him throwing coffee at her to pulling out a gun. Retaliation can cost you your life. I’m glad he just left.

California placed a moratorium on the death penalty in 2019. The last execution in CA was in 2006.

lol i applaud her for her reaction time, i mean a hammer is not is not typically found among baristas equipment…. I also have some admiration for her taking a risk and investing into starting her own business. She has a promising opportunity to own a small chain of coffee shops that would have a great profit vs start up cost, if she can just find a way without decreasing quality of product or customer interaction, to speed up customer turnover rate. She just needs a unique niche, if she can find good looking employees both male and female the bikini and topless life guard theme would work well during those warmer weather but I think winter might bring on harsh work environment claims. Though male customers might increase and so would the tips for girls, but the male tips would probably recede quite a bit almost to nothing. At the same time Therapist and male suicide rates would probably see an increase

If you were upset about the pricing, I can understand why, and you have a choice to know how to ask what it costs while placing the order, drop a review, and not visit the place ever again. No one has a right to be nasty with people serving an order. It is downright pathetic to think you can. The video is ugly and doesn't need to be repeated, but I stand with the Barista.

I worked graveyard shifts in a Jack in the Box in the early 1970s. We stayed open all night, there was two, sometimes three of us, and we were very young. Under the counter I always kept a lightweight metal cooking pot that could hold @ a couple quarts of liquid, and the very hot deep fat fryers were nearby in case I needed them. I'm glad I never did, but I was ready for certain forms of serious trouble. I don't think this lady should've done that. To me it seemed like she might've said something that really pissed the guy off, and he did what he did. It was nasty and wrong of him. It upset her and left a mess to clean up. Now he's REALLY pissed off, and she's a sitting duck in her little booth.

I am 100% pro gun ownership, but even I can say bumpstocks are not necessary for protecting me and my family, or for sport.
This could backfire on us gun owners because of the potential fallout when some evil idiot carrys out another mass shooting at a school etc.
SCOTUS might then be pressured to make gun ownership very restricted. Us gun owners should leave well enough alone. We do not need bumpstocks on our guns!
The weapon used that night was an M240 firing 600 rounds per minute. An AR15 with a bump stock fires 800 rounds per minute. Audio analysis of that night is available if you look for it.
