So this month on December 11th saw the last services operated by Paxman VP185 powers and the “Angel Set” for East Midlands Railway. The VP185’s have been on the MML since 1995, for several months there have just been 3 power cars left which only came out when the current red, ex. LNER engines weren’t fit to operate.
This year throughout 2020 I have been collecting footage I’ve caught of these blue beasts in action and have compiled them here into one video as a tribute and goodbye to the classic Midland HST’s.
Footage has been taken across the Midland Mainline and is organised in the video from South to North, starting at St Pancras & ending at Leeds.
    0:00 - Intro
    0:12 - St Pancras
    7:31 - Luton Airport Parkway
    8:19 - Harlington
    9:09 - Flitwick
    10:13 - Bedford
    14:23 - Lineside between Wellingborough & Kettering
    17:02 - Kettering station
18:45 - Lineside near Market Harborough
    20:05 - Market Harborough
    21:05 - Leicester
    23:10 - Loughborough
    24:08 - East Midlands Parkway
    27:28 - Nottingham
    32:01 - Sheffield
    33:53 - Leeds
    36:37 - Onboard Departures
It’s still worth noting that HST’s are still on the midland mainline until next year, but will only be the red ones now.
Enjoy the video, be sure to give it a like & wish you all a Merry Christmas!

Of all the different HST liveries I like this one most. It looks fresh, dynamic and fits well to the train's shape. They had a good designer.

Is East Midlands Railway still keeping the remaining Class 43 MK3 HSTs. As EMR have ordered 33 Class 810 AT300s but will not be in service until at least 2022/2023. And the Class 360s cascaded from Greater Anglia will be in service from next year.
