Wow great video. I recently began aggressive skating and my big problem is how to stop. I'm going to try this and see how it works, great video, awesome results and humor is always needed lol
if you get shoelace the good thing is that it follows the shape of your leg...for buckles its the same but it does not really gives you the 'feel' ... best it to get those with both lace and buckle
One of the best stop videos I have seen. Question: I am 63 and intermediate skater. Are there some surfaces that might throw a skater? (e.g. rough asphalt, tiled pavement, etc.). How would you stop on cobblestones (like everywhere in Europe?
no special skates needed... i do it with both 4 and 5 wheel blades.... it's tough to get good balance at the start, it helps if you know a few more powerslides before you try the parallel. another thing they forgot to mention is to keep feet well apart for the first few tries, so if you lose one foot, the other is still manageable: i hope this suffices :) happy skating!
@oneaware Their skates are downhill skates, however 5-wheels skates are not only made for downhill. I'd say it's best to learn with such skates for you have small wheels, which means more balance. 4 or 5 small wheels doesn't change much though
God damn great vid! I wanted to avoid double cost (buying skates for starters and next for advanced) so I bought aggressive stuff already. And... well everything is great except breaking :). This movie has shown me a lot! I'm going to learn it, bye :)!!!
muchas gracias chicos, hoy me voy a empeñar a aprender de una vez x todas el paralel slide!! buen video!!!! dont worry, if you see: "muchas gracias" and "buen video" its a good commentary hahahaa LOL
Very helpful vid! Kudos to this video very informative. This looks very easy but damn its hard to apply it. I have fallen badly trying it again and again. I cant seem to stop, my blades just continues to turn, how do you stop it from going through after you tilt your blades?
I just started using inline skates...my shins hurt after striding and practicing T-stops for around 5 minutes...is that normal? I wanted to try doing this parallel slide but I decided to take it easy...This video is AWESOME, by the way. :)
This is a really good how to guide on parallel sliding, but I'm not sure how I can get my skates to do that. When I powerslide, I really need to get that ? shape going before swinging my foot out to stop. Powersliding is easy for me and I really need to learn how to parallel slide before I can go out in the streets confidently. Do I still have to use the ? shape to parallel slide?
XD
lol i do this in speed skates but i like putting ppl near a wall then going fast then jump then land sideways then slide sideways when you land. they like shit their pants so much fun.
haha this doesnt spoil any thing from what i know.... and i also have a question to ask...can i use hockey wheels to do this? im using powerslide nexus f series. someone help me
Any tips on how not to make your wheels stuck on parking concrete space as you turn your legs like that? I always either keep going to that 90 degree angle or mess up with something. Its hard to slide like that :s Even tho I know hockey stop, so I've learned how to slide on one leg while facing the other way
You can't slide one agressive skates with the wheels, the best is to have downhill wheels or freeride wheels in the 85A but you can do it with 78A as well but they get used mutch faster and slide less.
Why the long frames when your skates look like they have 80s in? Would love to see you try slalom in those monsters. My best skates(got four pairs of Seba's)are my Igor pros I suggest you upgrade!
Having more wheels means having more friction, and helps you with less loss of speed while gliding, cuz it is longer, you have your skates less swayed from left to right. Bad for slalom ,but good for stops and forward travel.
well explained thx!i will pluck up the courage and try it out tomorrow!
Just had a go on some skates today, went down the road and didnt know how to stop, thanks for the vid dude
Great teaching.. I am going to try this today...

Very glad you guys showed the errors as well. Most how to vids don't . Great vid. I will try this today.
Great video. Thanks for helping me!
This is a very well put together video. Very good. Have 5 stars
Great video. That's kind of like a hockey stop on ice skates.
Just makes me wanna try it out! Well done, I also like the second part where you say what happens if you don't do it properly. Well done!

veramente grandiosi e gran bell video!!! ben fatto!!
i felt the slide... on my face! :D
TNKS!!!! i was looking something like this... very cool.
no special skates needed... i do it with both 4 and 5 wheel blades.... it's tough to get good balance at the start, it helps if you know a few more powerslides before you try the parallel. another thing they forgot to mention is to keep feet well apart for the first few tries, so if you lose one foot, the other is still manageable: i hope this suffices :) happy skating!

Hehe, makes me wanna give it a try! :)
Nice little video! :)
WHOA! 5 wheels? Never saw that before? Isn't it better to have less wheels since you get less friction?
Anyway, thanks a lot! You're a god amongst us.
Thx! I'll try this asap, it looks like lots of fun:D
Awesome! Thanks for the great instructions!
thanks man was looking for another way to stop (spins don't work when you're going fast)
Great video!!!! Saludo de Argentina!!!!
Yeah, like it! Thanks! =) Will try to learn it!
i am going to learn this thanks for the video :))

tnx mn i wish all tutorials are this good
great! been trying to find a good vid that would help with that!
very nice tutorial indeed will try this tonight or later :)
Very Cool~ Thanks a lot man!
dont worry, if you see: "muchas gracias" and "buen video" its a good commentary hahahaa LOL
your opinion. i respect it. :)
great video!
i think the thing people find hardest about this is just that they are afraid of falling. its all about being... not scared
it's getting that back foot sliding that's the hardest thing- You gotta get the right angle on it.
Really advanced move - not even a requirement for level 2 instructor certification. I wonder what durometer their wheels are...
You look like Negreanu! haha. Cool video~
Awesome!!!
that would be useful for roller hockey!!
ok thanks, ima try it tonight.
great video....i loveD
thanx for the tips! cool
omg this is awesome so cool love it

I like it dude, Nice Video :-)
@danipe the poweslide isn't this one : this is the parallel slide. The powerslide is quite a bit easier in fact.
FIVE stars.
ty all for maknig this tutorial.
hug from brazil!
love it man ty
This was helpful and kinda funny hahaha
I've been looking for a tutorial like this?!!!
Thanks a lot?!!! ;o)
cool... im gonna go try! thx for the tutorial (:
thanks ramzevans. Doing that already. But i want to know what I am doing wrong. I guess i didnt tilt the blades enough to stop.
I would like to learn more tips.
Could you please make more videos ? TY
Really cool vid' =)
lov'it.. keep it stylish :))
k2, roller blades many more. my current blades now is k2.. forgot the model
nice stoping trick, i like it want to try but will wear the wheels very fast
Wheels are meant to be shredded, so go shred them!
mine from 84mm to 74mm :(
I will try today :D
Hey guys! From where are you? Very nice of you making this video. Though, i can`t do it on race boots and 100mm wheels :P. Or...is it possibile?
I just started using inline skates...my shins hurt after striding and practicing T-stops for around 5 minutes...is that normal? I wanted to try doing this parallel slide but I decided to take it easy...This video is AWESOME, by the way. :)

hey that's really cool, thx for tutorial ^^
I've just learned the powerslide now and improving it. Wat is the maximum size wheels to do this. You even do this on skeelers
Enhorabuena, muy buen video :D Ahora a ver si me sale XD
Great :)
that very helpful
Groovy 8-)
Excellent fun. Where are you skating here?
lol i do this in speed skates but i like putting ppl near a wall then going fast then jump then land sideways then slide sideways when you land. they like shit their pants so much fun.
good work 5*
one of the better videos. Did I see a fanny pack? LMFAO
this stuff is very hard, i skate some 10-12 years (agressive, freestyle, hockey) and i can only do it if the ground is wet or dusty
haha this doesnt spoil any thing from what i know.... and i also have a question to ask...can i use hockey wheels to do this? im using powerslide nexus f series. someone help me
slide you!!
5 star~

Nice! Can be done with silicon wheels?
This is scary for a beginner like me. I can somewhat do the other stop (forgot what it's called) it's similar but with front leg extended
perfect
You can't slide one agressive skates with the wheels, the best is to have downhill wheels or freeride wheels in the 85A but you can do it with 78A as well but they get used mutch faster and slide less.
great
Yea I've been skatin' for quite some time and haven't got around to trying this... That being said would 70A wheels be too soft?
What is the best configuration of wheels? (please)
hink that my are very soft
84mm 82A (HYPER MICRO RX -ABEC-7)
waiting your aswer...
tk´s
she's so happy, little jump :p
@Freez3rNo1 ok...thanks man...
do i need some hard rolls, to do that? something like: more than 80a ?
83a to 85a are most commonly used.
yeah anyway to do this on aggressive skates with anti-rocker?
which is better, shoelace type of blade or triple buckle?
Why the long frames when your skates look like they have 80s in? Would love to see you try slalom in those monsters. My best skates(got four pairs of Seba's)are my Igor pros I suggest you upgrade!
5 wheels skates are for speed, not for tricks. It does not mean they are bad.
Having more wheels means having more friction, and helps you with less loss of speed while gliding, cuz it is longer, you have your skates less swayed from left to right. Bad for slalom ,but good for stops and forward travel.
