Building A Treehouse In A Beautiful Forest Alone - Part 7: Reaching For The Top

- In this series I am building an off grid treehouse cabin in the forest. I build in a sustainable and ecological way in the wilderness and nature. This is episode 7 of The Treehouse Experiment documentary on my channel Building in Nature. The tree house is built in a big oak tree in a beautiful forest in The Netherlands. In this episode the walls are being built and the treehouse is taking shape. The beams for the first floor are installed and the roof structure reaches it highest point. I also experiment with Yakisugi (Not Shou Sugi Ban). Spring is taking over from winter, so the forest looks great!
I’m Ruud. A designer and filmmaker from The Netherlands. I design and make things.
I hope you enjoy the building process. Have a nice day!

I showed this comment to my dad, it made him smile! :)
Excited to see more of you.
Thanks!
Fantastic work, I am tickled pink for you!
Thanks! :)
If you design a rain collection system, there's your water source for the tree house for the bathroom / kitchen inside, otherwise, you'll always have to haul water up there and basically it's just a box up in a tree. :)
Yes, could be nice! A watering system for the rain will definately be installed in the future.
Love the progress and your attention to detail. Also your humour makes me laugh. Keep up the great work. :)
Thats a big compliment! I appreciate it :)

Hi Ruud!
These videos are very well done, editing is lovely and not to mention the cragtmanship is exquisite!
Do you have sny idea how much it has cost you up until this point?
Thanks! I don't know exactly, I'll probably do a cost breakdown video in the future.
Türkiye İstanbuldan selamlar 🇹🇷♥️ , videolarınızı büyük bir zevkle izliyorum
Thanks for watching! Greetings from The Netherlands
You should totally make a ladder up to that fork in the tree and make a lookout post!
Definitely! Would be very cool. It seems like this spot is made for it. It is on my list of future projects. The height is a bit intimidating haha :)
Keep it up man. Looks great

Linseed oil is also great on wood
Yes! That is also a very good option. I like the color of tung oil on the woods that I am using a bit better. But that's just a personal preference. I would also be happy with linseed oil :)
Love from India..... Keep it up bro.
Thanks for the kind words!
Fantastisch! Groeten uit Zweden
Gaaf!
Thank you! I really appreciate it. Professor pardal (in Dutch: Willie Wortel) was my favourite comic when I was a kid haha :)

hey i am looking for a place in the woods to build a small house to do you have any tips on how to find such place?
Go out there and ask around seems a good approach. And the internet of course. Good luck with finding a place and your build!
What is the budget, if it's not a secret?
It is not a secret :) I don't know exactly at the moment. But I try to keep it budget friendly wherever I can. I will make a detailed video about the cost breakdown it in the future I think.
@@BuildingInNature cool thank you :)
