- 1993 We took the kids to experience a small family style amusement park in Metz, France. Smurf Land! Smurfs we're very popular back in the 1990's, more so in Europe. It went through many names changes since opening in 1989. Big Bang Schtroumpf, (Smurf), Walibi Lorraine, Now Walygator Parc. Whatever the name is, it's as a great experience for young and old.
