  • This weekend we check out the Grand Canyon South Rim and camp out on some BLM land within the Park! Starting off with a 4 hour drive from Las Vegas, we arrived at the park around noon where it was about mid 80s, along the way we drove through Williams, Grand Canyon Junction and Tusayan. On the way there were a few Forest Service Roads that were our back up camp spots in case our first choice off Coconino road was full! Links/coordinates to all campsites below!
    To enter the park, there is a $35 park fee unless you have the America the Beautiful pass which will get you into the park for FREE!
    The first place we went to was Mather Point which had the BEST views in the park, easy, paved trail to walk and close to the parking lot. Dogs are allowed they just have to be leashed! Note - there are multiple view points around Mather Point so walk around and find your own private little slice of the area to enjoy and soak up all the amazing scenery! There were also ample facilities in the area from bathrooms to picnic areas and drinking water refill stations.

    Great and fun video. The Clapton "wonderful tonight" song did it for me. Played that at my senior party with my band at the time. Great memory.

      Thanks Skoty! I was pretty surprised by the camp options over there I thought it would be pretty limited! If there were spots to camp right on the canyon that would have been more ideal though! Thanks for watching!!

      @@Kadenventures We we’re there in May and June. Yellowstone Lake was still frozen when we first got there but it was thawed out when we left. If you plan on staying in the campgrounds reserve early. We went in May and June in our RV because that’s when we could get a reservation, but we have been there during all seasons.

    I Camped at the coordinates on Coconino Rim Road November 7th 2022 , after watching this.
    I concur that it is a very nice spot. Big Safe Fire pit area. Flat ground. Easy firm road. Quiet area. Surrounded by trees. Many places to put a tent/trailer.

      @@Kadenventures that area is nice. Everyone usually goes to Duck Creek this time of year. Navajo Lake is not bad to camp at which is right by Duck Creek. If you want something more out of the way and not the typical beaten path, do a search on ancient bristlecone pine Forrest. Many areas to camp there

    I am heading out there for two nights in a couple weeks. I have a desert view campground reservation one night and am going to do BLM the other. I almost want to just cancel the desert view reservation because it looks pretty sweet and easy out there. Thoughts?

    • @Kadenventures
      @Kadenventures  Před rokem

      I think it depends on what time your going to get out there, I like knowing where I’m going to sleep if I’m coming in late at night so you don’t have to worry about where to sleep. The campground is convenient for sure and then u can explore for some blm the following night 👌🏽🏕 safe travels out there and have a great time!

    • @Kadenventures
      @Kadenventures  Před rokem

      I've heard of certain areas in AZ where you need a permit but i think its AZ State lands? This particular area we dispersed camped outside the park did not require us to have a permit (at least not that we saw from any signage driving into the area).
      I just did a quick google search "No permits or fees are required for dispersed camping in Arizona's National Forests."
      I did another search regarding camping permits in AZ and this came up "The only two areas where you need a permit to camp in Arizona is on State Trust Land and on Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge."
      www.boondockersbible.com/knowledgebase/do-you-need-a-permit-to-camp-in-arizona/
      Hope that helps. Thanks!
