    I honestly miss being a kid collecting baseball cards. It was cool to pull a regular common card of Frank Thomas for example and guys who you never heard of to complete your team sets. And as a kid growing up it was so much fun to just talk stats and when batting average mattered. Fun times

    • @sportscardsandthings
      @sportscardsandthings Před 2 lety +2

      I've collected in both eras you are talking about(as a kid, and current era), and collecting nowadays can still be great as long as you don't focus on the money aspect of it(outside of setting a budget). Its fun to rip packs of course, but the best way to build a collection is to buy singles and collect what you like.
      There are some nice things about the modern era of cards - for example, pulling an autograph out of a pack of cards wasn't a thing until the late 90's or so. Which if you told my 10 year old self that you had a legit chance to get an autograph out of a pack of cards, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't believe you.

Ol' boys have a lot more time to sit around and worry about their penmanship than the guy who is 3 months backlogged on his contract with Topps/Panini and needs to pump out 100 sheets of autos by Friday. I didn't look up any of these cards prices but did any of the cards pulled equal the price of the box? I was thinking about picking up a box of this product but I'm glad I watched this video first, now it's a big NO! Thanks Jabs for saving me $80

    So how do these card work? Are they reprints that Topps had auto’d and/or serial numbered?
    Or did they have these cards laying around and they got them auto’d and/or numbered?
    Either way, doesn’t seem authentic to me.

      Topps bought the cards back then stamped them and after that they had the retired players sign them.

    Come on guys/girls…buy cards that people want/need….this was the most disturbing video on the amount of money spent on worthless cards…do you think that most of them, people will actually pay anywhere close to 80 dollars for, there’s a market for those auto,s….I agree…try setting up at a card show..if it cost 80 per card…what are you charging??
