Intro to Bikejoring (Part 1)

When I started learning to bikejor with my husky mix, Leo, there were not many resources available to me online. Since we've been doing it for over a year now, I thought I'd share my training process and how I prepared Leo before he ever was attached to the bike.
In this video, I cover the following:
- Some bikejoring gear
- How I taught Leo cues
- Some basic training to start with before introducing a bike
Future bikejoring videos will overview how I introduced Leo to the bike and how we practice cues in action.

Great video. I have trained both of my working dogs, a now passed border collie gs female and now a female red dobie on direction. I use left and right as well. Lucy, my current girl responds to finger points and verbal tuts. I'm working on a trike joring rig right now. As a worn out endurance junkie, we both need our time outdoors. Glad I've joined your channel.

This is the first video I found that actually demonstrated training methods for teach dogsledding commands, something I was clueless about how to begin. I used to bike jore about 10 years ago, but without much training beyond stop go.
This is the kind of content I was looking for to restart, a hopefully much better bike joring experience with my two high energy 23 mnth old pups.
Almost any positive reinforcement dog training for outdoor activities such as joring, hiking, camping etc, is something I would be interested in.

Good tips. Thanks. I’m a dog runner for a living but not sure how long my knee will last… going to work on mushing as an alternate. Of course doing my research first !
