What I like about french food is that they are many times made of simple ingredients. The magic is in the cooking methods. This makes many french dishes available to anyone if you just learn the cooking process. For example, the apple tart "tarte tatin". Try to bake one. It's simple, but amazingly delicious.

This video is extremely biased, glad you find out what my country is really about : try to do the best with the lowest you can spend.
People don't work 6-7 hours a day, the economic crisis is that explosive that we work more than 15hours a day. In fact, we go to sleep at 1am and wake up at 4am !
We are not classy as this video seems to want to prove. My country is slowly going to an under developped country. It's funny nobody seems to get the man laying in front of the eiffel tower "sleeping" is actually a homeless person giving up fight for survive.
There is two different part in France, the richs (by richs I mean millionnaires), they are the person that the rest of the world picture all of us to look like and the other 99% of the population.
People who don't have money. Literally, 0 euros to start the month, who don't have a choice, who are not listened, who don't have a life.
If you ever go to Paris, drive 1 hour from the center of the city and see what our country really is. Or even simple, search on Google Pictures "Quartiers Nord de Marseille", "Bois de Boulogne prostitution", etc...

Eating snails might sound weird to people from outside our country but when you think about it, why is it different than eating any different kind of meat? Sure it might seem "more disgusting" because snails are weird and always in mud, but we invented farms for that - so everything is very clean. Trust me, it's not more disgusting than eating fast food chicken nuggets that are made of crushed bones and feces.

*Geography Now* always make mistakes, or leave out notable information in their videos.
*France* might have been the first country to ban food waste, however I'm pretty sure *Germany* was the first to do it unofficially. They've been encouraging their supermarkets to donate unsold food to food banks and charities for at least 10 years, as I remember reading a story about one of their supermarkets being the first to donate food at least 10 years ago.
I also notice how the Americans at *Georgraphy Now* failed to mention the *Lumiere Brothers* who are widely regarded by many as pioneers in the film industry, and *Louis Aime Augustin Le Prince* who you've most likely never heard of. *Louis Le Prince* was a French inventor, however he worked and lived in the UK for the last 24 years of his life. It was in *Leeds, West Yorkshire, England* on the 18th October 1888, where *Louis* on his own single-lens camera, captured the *"World's First Film."*
He never got to show the public his film as he mysteriously disappeared on his way to France, on the 16th September 1890.
Some people think the world's biggest invention thief *Thomas Edison* was responsible for disappearance of *Louis* and I think those people are correct. In 1898 *Louis'* son *Adolphe Le Prince* testified against *Thomas Edison* as *Thomas* claimed to have been the first to invent the single-lens camera. Just over two years later in 1901 *Adolphe* was found murdered on *Fire Island, New York* shortly after testifying against *Thomas Edison.*

The snail thing is a bit a harsh cliché. Snails are not eaten all the year, they are eaten, by tradition, during Christmas or New year fest. You will have a very harsh time to find some French eating snails apart these 2 fests (the same can almost be said for froglegs, we can sometimes eat froglegs (mostly in chinese restaurant even) but it's not considered as other meals). I'm French of course, but I don't hate everyone (and not equally, I hate the most untolerance whoever is bringing it)... Ive visited almost all of Europe, been in UK, USA, Africa, and I've lived 4-5 years in Germany, 4 months in Indian ocean (Mayotte, Réunion, and glorious isles). Brief, i considere my self as both Nationalist and Internationalist, skills which are not uncompatible. I love my country, but I love to meet different people all around the world, I am proud of my country but i do so for any country in the world which has done improvements or "avancées" in human rights, sciences, health research, History, philozophy etc...

So, France is the biggest country in Europe in territory size and is the second in population, has a very rich culture and the fact that French people hates everyone is not true. We French people get to hear a lot of people telling Jokes about that we "Lost" a World war, that we are lazy and we don't take showers (Of course that is not true) When other countries talk about France they have only one word in their mouth "PARIS", Yes it's a beautiful city but it's not the only one in France as you can tell... If there is one thing that drives me crazy is the jokes (That are not funny btw) about World Wars, that we can't fight, we surrender all the time and if you do tell jokes like this remember that WE are not responsable for what French people did 80 years ago. (Maybe because 90% of them are dead)

he French gave the world the hot air balloon, the sewing machine, and the bikini. They even gave the United States the Statue of Liberty. However, one thing the French cannot claim is the French fry.
Despite its name, the French fry is not French. The origins of the French fry have been traced back to Belgium, where historians claim potatoes were being fried in the late-1600s.
According to local Belgian lore, poor villagers living in Meuse Valley often ate small fried fish they caught in the river. During the winter months the river would freeze over - making fishing impossible and forcing the villagers to find other sources of food.
Enter the potato. The villagers turned to the root plant, slicing and frying it much in the same way they prepared the fish. And just like that, the earliest French fries were born.
American soldiers stationed in Belgium were first introduced to French fries during World War I. As the official language of the Belgian army was French, soldiers nicknamed the delicious fried potatoes “French fries." The name stuck, and decades later we're still giving credit to the wrong country.
French fries are one of the most popular side dishes in the world. When it comes to dipping, fries often find themselves covered in ketchup, mayonnaise, or vinegar, but that seems to be where the universal preference ends.
In Belgium, people prefer to eat French fries with cooked mussels or with a fried egg on top. The United Kingdom is famous for its “fish and chips." In the Middle East, fries are wrapped in pita bread with chicken, and in France they are served with grilled steak. Canadians serve up poutine, a dish consisting of french fries and cheese curds, topped with brown gravy!

A lot of things have changed since that video... little example: the age for retirement is no longer 62yo but a few years more (and then depending on the field they work in). And a lot more things have changed but it's not really interesting.
Also, comparing french food with american food is... weird? Because we don't have a great food hygiene but a whole bunch of the population cooks their meal, not like in the US where a lot of people just buy their meals. So we don't have fine taste and we don't drink wine that much, but just a bit more than in the US - and that seems to be very incredible to you americans. But really, we just cook more than you do.
The cheese thing is real though, i couldn't live without cheese! And y'all americans (as the continent, not only the counrty) with your tasteless ~cheesy things~... :(
Oh also the thing about "french people hate everyone" is not true at all! We love the world :) Joke apart, of course there is always a part of us who hate and discriminate others, but it's like in every country honestly. Not worth mentioning in a video, and definitely not something to absolutely know about our country (which the video seems to lead to).
Overall, it made me feel like being proud of being French was weird or wrong. Cause you know, that guy was really insisting on the fact that we are proud of being french. Well yes, it's true! Aren't you proud of being American? Aren't you going to defend your country if a foreigner talks badly about it? .... We don't like that everything is french though, that's just something seriously cliché. Yes, of course the old generations like it a bit more if we don't use anglicism (and that's generalizing again), but c'mon. The younger ones use english words as much as they want! (And in some parts of france, especially in the south, some of us also use some northern african words because the population is composed of a lot of people with an arabic origin. So that thing about everything must be french is, again, not true.)
I could write a lot more but noone is going to read that anyway, so i'll stop.
About your reaction... where is it?
Like- i'm not trying to hate on you guys and prove that french people hate everybody! But you just said "yes.... yes....... yeah" to everything he was saying, and that was it. No talking during the video, no talking after the end of the video... it was honestly just watching the video itself without you guys reacting to it.
I am truly not trying to hate or anything. Just my opinion. But for me watching one of your reaction videos is not worth it.
