- Boston Celtics selected Baylor Scheierman, the 23-year-old 6-foot-6 guard, with the 30th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Here are his best highlights from the 2023-24 NCAA season as he averaged 18.5 PPG (on 45-38-88 shooting splits) to go with 9.0 RPG and 3.9 APG in 35 games played for Creighton Bluejays.
Welcome to Boston! ☘️

PP, Hauser, and Baylor are going to shoot the lights out. The stay ready snipers.
PP has been a way to streaky 3 point shooter the last couple years... even though his 2 last second shots in the finals were incredible.
the stay White crew
pp sucks
pp sucks
Really like this pick! He's very skilled, a great shooter and has great passing ability too. We really couldn't have done any better with the #30 pick. GOAT Brad doing GOAT things
he will spend entire season in Maine lol
@@fanda6122didn't Pritchard and Hauser went to the G league too?
@@fanda6122 I mean, yeah, almost certainly. Still a solid talent for 30.
Funnily enough, he plays a lot like our #30 currently (Hauser) ❤
@@fanda6122 And if he's filling the Hauser role 2 seasons from now then it's a fantastic pick
Those mid range jumpers are next level shots... He is a legit 3 level scorer.
Not many in the NBA are good at the mid range. Don't be surprised if he becomes a super sub instant offense off the bench.
I literally can not comprehend how someone this good lasted until the 30th pick
He’s not a good defender based on what I gather and scouts think he will have a harder time in the nba to stay in front of players. He’s also like 22 or 23 years old so young teams aren’t interested in him.
@@maxwellespindle45there’s worst defender in the nba rn😂😂
If Baylor Scheierman continue this shooting in NBA he deserves 13/18 minutes
Probably not gonna shoot that well since the 3 line deeper in the nba
Next Hauser? Hope he could give two Jays some breathin' time
He moves with the same pace as Luka. Not incredibly athletic but knows how to use his strong frame well. Great feel for the game too. He's gonna be another great cog for our well-oiled offense.
He’s Luka but skinnier
He’s got a 42” very he can get up
I'm glad i wasn't the only one who say a bit of luka in him. Tho I think his game will translate to the NBA more as a Gordon Hayward-like
@@joshlitman8310 He doesn't. It is Reed Sheppard who measured 42 vert, but he admitted that he boosted this number by dumping his standing reach a couple of inches.
Love his passing abilities
If we develop our young talent we could have a deep bench in PP, Hauser, Walsh, Scheirman, and Kornet/Queta
Crafty with some size for our back up wing
WOW! i was not aware of what this kid can do, looks amazing.
He shoots and moves a little like luka. Not saying he’s Luka but he shoots similar with the dip and his patience and footwork are similar
Lefty, high iq, sharp shooter
He can contribute immediately 🍀
A Lefty! 😮
great weapon to have
Good shooter, great vision with good passing ability, can finish strong with either hand. I like it.
Hope he works out. Him and Walsh would be so fun if they develop
A team-player version of Luka?... 🍀🍀
I honestly said the same thing man. He looks like a Luka that can move his feet.
@@Steve-li1ru girl please think about what you just said
He’s obviously not Luka but their shot is identical and his middy game looks the same. Doesn’t need to jump to shoot the ball it’s all form. But he’s got a 42” vert which is wild
@@joshlitman8310 they're literally just both white guys
Lol this comment is ridiculous. Holy crap.
I could definitely see this guy playing actually real minutes for us.
Great Brissett replacement
What on earth? Oshae is a dynamic athlete who can guard 2-5, and the best offensive rebounder on an NBA championship team. This would be a catastrophic downgrade, as would virtually any rookie not selected in the top 10 of any draft.
@@Mitch_Feral Of course they are different players and of course Baylor will need time to adapt, but he is a better fit.
And he averaged 9 rebounds per game last year, so i'm not sure that he is such a downgrade 🤷🏼♂️
@@MicRi93 Saying this random big guard is a better fit than the dude who just played meaningful minutes during a playoff run that culminated in a championship is wild.
@@Mitch_Feral Look, i like Brissett, but he decided to opt out.
Scheierman is a better fit: great shooter, good rebounder and has size.
He can take the few minutes that we use to give to Brissett and be a rotational player in the first year.
Probably when it's playoff time, he's going to be just a garbage time player, just like O'shea was.
@@MicRi93 His name is Oshae.
And Scheierman cant take the minutes they gave Brissett, bc Brissett's minutes in the Pacers series, for instance, were at the 5. Scheierman is either sitting behind White, Holiday, Pritchard - or Tatum, Brown, Hauser; Brissett's value is that he could slot in and defend 2 through 5, even in big games. Saying a dude who hasnt played a minute of NBA basketball, and who has nowhere to play is a 'better fit' than a dude who contributed meaningful playoff minutes on a championship team is, again, bizarre.
Whenever I want to watch some videos about celtics, I know where I should go. Thanks, Tomasz!
Man was in college 5 years & look who he played for a in games they needed him
Now all we need is a young promising center with the 54th pick.
You could say that 😅
People, don't sleep on Houser's defense, that's why he's got a spot in the rotation. This draft pick kid is more skilled on offense than Sam but if he can't play D, which most rookies really can't, he won't even sniff the rotation this coming season season. It's going to take him a year at least, the Cs D isn't a simple system
he is older than most rookies. We'll see :D
a 25 year old might be a decent defender. we'll see.
Thanks for being the voice of reason here.
Most of what this kid did in College he will not be able to do in the NBA.
He has the ball in his hands all the time in these highlights. He will NEVER have the ball in the big leagues. So all this stuff He is doing in these highlights are null and void.
No D, undersized, underwhelming athleticism, not fast enough for the NBA.
All of these things can improve, but anyone thinking this guy is going to be getting minutes next year is kidding themselves.
This kid Baylor definitely can score probably more well rounded on offense then Sam but no doubt in my mind that Hauser is the better 3pt shooter.
We should send Him to the G league, let him develop and get better on defense. Our G League made it to the championship too but fell short. Let him go win with those guys. j.D & Walsh. Our G League even got a big 3 now 😂 then bring Walsh & Baylor in next season after they have won a championship in the G League 🤞🏾
Looks like a steal at 30
Brad done got em a left handed luka
Yessir good looks 👍
Another high IQ 2 way wings who can shoot 3s & drive. Like Hauser, if he has to spend time in G League to learn NBA defense. If he can make the cut eventually in 2 yrs time, it'll help to keep Celtics payroll in check in chasing for Banner 21
He's not a wing.
Looks big for a 6-6 guy
We got our left hand Luka☘️
We just got Manu v2.0 😁
A straight dog, go Jays go Big East
Need to improve on defense. Easily gets blown by and often gambles on steals.
All we need is a good work ethic and defence tenacity.
could be a real weapon from the corner as a lefty
thank you for getting this video up so quickly. great pick by brad
People are saying Houser but it looks like this kid already is a more advanced ball handler, decision maker, passer, and finisher in the PnR. I see a Franz Wagner type, maybe even less athletic but a better shooter?
I see a young Chris Mullin..
well Franz is probably a future all-star so maybe not that level but I do see similarities
Hauser*
Reminds me of a gritty luka
You da best Tomasz!!
Gonna have to work on his handles. I’m curious how his defense looks. Can definitely shoot it 👍🏾
He reminds me of the wagner brothers.
Baylor is NBA ready
Looks more complete offensively than Hauser. If he can reach his full potential, we have one hell of a roster
The lookaway at 00:48 is so cold
Nice timing getting this vid out so quickly. Just what I wanted to know
He's gonna be good
That boy smooth!!
Extremely underrated first step
I have no idea how Scheierman fall to 30. He is one of the best shooters in the draft and he is also a solid playmaker and a fantastic rebounder.
He can be a solid sixthman.. pls use him coach joe
I knew I could count on you, Tomek!
Manu Ginobili 🔥🔥🔥
No look at 0:50 is actually insane 🔥🔥
He gives me a more athletic Joe Ingles
As much as I like it I can't help but think that Kyle filipowski would have been a good selection here
Too much baggage with that grooming shit he’s got going on
@@joshlitman8310 is that what's going on with him? I didn't know that
certainly can handle the ball
we picked up a white demon.
Kid looks good. Wish he was Latvian 😊
Really wish we got filipowski
But Scheierman cool too
If he's 3rd team All-American, it means that he's one of the top 15 collegiate players
Welcome ☘️🏆
0:50 he didn’t even have to look
Hey Timi, I know it’s the offseason and all but I was wondering if we could celebrate the Kornet resigning with his season highlights as well? Really appreciate all you do for Celtics fans!💚🍀
He looks very good.
I think he can be good but he’s gonna have to learn not to push off as much because he will be in foul trouble often. First step a little slow but with the dribble package he could develop very nice.
Holy Chris Mullin Batman!
Another 🎯
Tough kid strong…..
Imagine the 3pt space he will get with celtics offense..
Discount Hauser loo
Wayyyy better skillset
Docic II
I maybe little bit too optimistic but 6moty in his rookie season
I see a young Chris Mullin
Went from playing for the Jays to playing with the Jays ☘️
Feel nice to have Scalabrine back 💚
Can create his shot and shoot the two.
Seems like an incredibly high IQ player. And great shooter and facilitator. I think he’s gonna surpass Pritchard in the rotation, leading to Pritchard getting traded.
yall are saying hes a potential hauser replacement. believe it or not hes potentially a pritchard replacement. dude has more size better handler better shooter and more versatile. potentially trade pp for assets?
Celtics future is bright 😅😅.. we have jordan walsh too
And he’s a southpaw
Tomasz, You Never Disappoint Us with These Timely Videos😊. This is a Great Pick-Up for Boston. But, here is What I would like for You to Do: I want You to Research The Player Who Baylor Scheierman is a “ Carbon Copy “ of: Chris Mullin. Then Make a “ Chris Mullin Video juxtaposed with Scheierman. I think that would be Cool, and The Viewers will See What I am Talking about.
Bigger version of deangelo russell
1 question though, does he ever get off the floor when shooting or n layups? It may be a problem in the nba
ang taas na naman ng expectation ng lakers fans pag dating sa dulo sisihin na naman si jj reddick
Who triggers faster, Baylor or Timi?
we besically stole baby Luka at 30 😄😄😄😄😄
People are saying he's Chris Mullin just quicker
Stevens pick ready players… coz celtics will be on 2nd apron and it would be harder to acquire players to join the team unless willingly to play under vet min..
He will replace pp or hauser when one of them leave
UCONN fan here; I’m pleased with the pick. He gave Clingan fits whenever we played Creighton
Does he seem like a lefty Eric Williams to anyone else, or is it just the number?
Man, this comment section is bonkers. If this dude is incredibly dedicated, he might get a chance at a few minutes at the end of next season, after playing all year in Maine. This is a system maintenance pick - putting someone into the system who does the stuff the C's value, in case someone who actually plays real NBA minutes goes down or leaves.
People genuinely watching this dude and going 'he's like Luka!' are possessed of a child-like, and remarkably race-sensitive, naivety that I find hard to reckon with.
Why worry about his defense.. celtics will teach him 😅
I wonder, considering the second round is taking place the next day, if Boston trades down. If you scope the landscape of the NBA after the first round draft I wonder if Zarren or Brad see if any teams would offer Hauser more money. The first round picks get guaranteed money and I don’t think JD, Svi, Brissett and Peterson come back next season.
If based on the picks teams are looking to replace current roster spots and need a shooter; Baylor stays.
If they think teams who have interest in Hauser have gotten their shooter in the draft or money wise wouldn’t be viable to sign Hauser; Celtics may trade down into the second round. I bet Brad has a couple of names in the second round. For an expensive team, second round picks are more valuable to fill the remaining roster spots with low salaries.
I’m no expert, just thinking out loud.
I see this as a potential Sam Hauser replacement (even though he's a couple inches shorter). I think Sam is going to get overpaid after next year and the C's will lose him in FA. I was worried at first about his sub 40% 3 point shooting at Creighton but seeing these highlights he has very little catch & shoot and corner 3s. Most of them seem to be above the break and step back which are more difficult shots.
Baylor Reminds Me Of Chris Mullin Can Pass, Shoot The 3 Celtics Got A Steal.
Can he play defense at all? I don't watch any college basketball so I have no idea
Yes he got a lot better last season on the defensive side and often picked up there best player on the other team
4th
Ok, that’s not good, that’s lethal. All the roll ins, back of the rim daggers, and off hand finishes… why he gotta do ‘em like that?
Play him Joe
Wow I like this kid I think he's definitely gonna get run this season
He kinda feels like a smaller version of Andrea Bargnani. Bouncy shooter with anticipation and patience. Knows how to read and react but upper body looks really weak
Star football player not weak. Big rebounder so again not weak.
