You are such a delight! You are super creative and your pleasant voice is just soothing and lovely! Thank you for sharing all of your ideas with us.
What a delightful comment, thank you so much!! ❤🥰😁😘
You can also push your journal signature spine into a book, keep the pages nice and tidy and straight, then use your awl and punch the holes. The awl goes thru the paper signature and then into the book spine. I have one old used hardcover book set aside for this purpose.
Thanks so much for sharing, great idea!
Ty I’ve made a couple but forgot the sewing order. I watch another video but knew it wasn’t correct, found yours and that’s all I needed.
How wonderful, glad I could help out ☺
Yay! Great job. The first one is always a bit intimidating, but like anything, it gets easier.
Thanks!! I was nervous, for sure!
oh my!! That was scary!! But watching you do it ...with me gave me courage! Even though you made this years ago. Thank you.
I'm so glad!! Funny, I'm not really even done with it. I still have one more signature to work on!
I watch Pam too 😊 You did great, thank you for helping me out.
Haha, so glad I could help ❤
Great video!
Thanks!!
I was also thinking that one could machine stitch the signature pages together together and then punch and hand apply the signatures to the cover. This is a lovely book. Additionally, I have seen people translate the cover holes onto a template that gets placed in the signature to guide hole making.
Stitching the pages would make it much easier. I have set up my sewing machine in my studio but have yet to use it, I'm ashamed to say!
Great idea to use crocodile tool and the ruler is the best tip yet.. thanks
Glad to help!! ☺
Thanks for sharing this, I finally got 1 signature in. It's not perfect I did get it in. Thank you ❤️
Bravo!! Good for you for just going for it!!!
Great video! Thanks for the help!!
Thank you! ❤🧡💜
Good for you great job
Thank you! I've been such a slacker about completing it, though. I may have bitten off more than I can chew! Hahaha
Lovely. Have fun filling it up.

Thank you, Wendy. That should be the most fun!
Well done!
Thanks so much!
I really needed this.
Wonderful! I'm glad to help ☺
Thank you so much for the helpful video. I am making my first journal and I was at a standstill for over a week afraid to do my holes in the cover and the signatures. Your video has helped me progress forward.
How wonderdul!! Remember, it's just paper, and you have to start before you can finish. If it doesn't work out this time, then try again. You can do it!!
You're great! Just subscribed 😊
Thanks so much!! ❤
Hey great job !!
Thanks!
Hi5 🎉 u did a excellent job on your first one
Gee thanks!! Although, it's been over a year and it's still not finished. I di still work on it, from time to time but think I might have been over ambitious on this one!!
@@TheArtfulAddict oo wow really ..lol it's okay u really did a good job & i love watching I start my first one tomorrow I'm excited and nervous
No need to be nervous, remember, it's just paper. You can do it, but If you mess up, just try again! 😉 Perhaps limit the number and size of your signatures so it won't take so long to complete. That is what I should have done. Please let me know how things go. Happy crafting!
Use the ruler scale on the cropadile to match holes.
Good call!
Good job
Thank you, Donna 🥰
this video as super helpful! what kind of material is de back of the book made off (the part where you make 3x3 holes)?
I'm so glad! I believe it is all cardboard.
What do you do with the 3 (6 ends) sewing tails if you keep them long? Thanks.
I may end up snipping mine, but I know some people add charms and other dangling items to them.
I am just learning . IS IT POSSIBLE TO CREATE ALL YOUR SIGNATURES FIST, COMPLETE WITH ALL THE BITS AND PIECES?
You can add all of your ephemera first, but there is a good chance that all of the bits and pieces will be in the way when sewing in the signatures, so some items may get damaged. I guess it depends on what kind and how much embellishing you do. Give it a try, that's the best way to know. Good luck and happy crafting! ❤❤❤
@@TheArtfulAddictThanks so much……
I’ll let you know how it turns out
Great!!
Why not paper clip all around or use binder clips which are much more sturdy for holding pages together? This is helpful. Additionally, I’m wondering if you couldn’t open the signature and lay the cover INSIDE and mark the holes through your punched holes and onto the inward crease of the signature.
You can certainly use paperclips all around. I have since picked up some of the very large paperclips from the dollar store and I think they will be helpful.
How many pages do you use to make a signature?
Oh darn, I didn't say how many pages in the video? I don't remember, off hand. I'll have to check and get back to you.
@@TheArtfulAddict Thank you.
what are you calling "signatures"? a group of papers?
Yes. Each group that is separately sewn in is a signature.
Awesome job,. I'll be doing my first journal as well, and I learned from Pam @ the paper Outpost 🫶🫶🫶
Yes, love her! Have fun ♥️💜🧡
