Here once stood the village of Argunovo, small, only a few houses, but with the Church. Another name of the village is Nikolskoye.
There was a fair and goods were brought from all around. Now there is only the bell tower of the Church and the cemetery (old and new). In the 19th century the village was the center of the Argunovskaya parish of the intercession of the County.
The Church was blown up in 1960-ies., there was a pile of broken bricks with sticking out here and there bent window bars (on the papers that allowed the explosion, they were absent). A huge hill of bricks-all that remains of the main volume of the Church.
In the early 1950s in the Church were still praying. March 18, 1957 there was a decision of the Executive Committee of the regional Council, allowing "Pokrovsky district Executive Committee to disassemble the emergency building of the inactive Church of the village of Argunovo", signed by Chairman V. Sporov. In the statement signed 15 Mar 1957 "Polnom. The R. p. C. Council. (so in the original) when Owls. Min. The USSR in the Vladimir region " I. Mirsky wrote about the building, built in 1795, that it "is neither architectural nor historical value, is in disrepair... the Foundation, masonry walls are destroyed, especially in the corners of the main building and the bell tower. In window and doorways there are no bars and frames... I consider it possible to satisfy the petition of the Pokrovsky district Executive Committee on dismantling of the emergency building".
