Thank you so much! This is so timely! We just starting installing our enkoping white cabinets this week! And I loved the enkoping trim when I saw it in IKEA! It’s part of what sold me on the Enkoping kitchen above some other choices. (Plus a better price, but the white makes me nervous!) lol! There are very few Enkoping Kitchen videos or info out there yet, especially on the trim. Like you said, basically zilch! My young inexperienced with IKEA but hard working contractor will need this info when he does the trim next week. Again, this is so timely. Do you have a way I can contact you with a few more questions and photos? I was concerned about his choice of screws, but he did a great job with putting up the first 7 wall cabinets and cover panels! Looks like maybe you used the same round heated, not flush screws, which I think is odd for inside the cabinets.

Also, have you had any issues of chipping off of the white when drilling or screwing?

Thank you!!! Saved us a bunch of time and headache. We had a more simple set up, but this was a super helpful!! Our kitchen set up is super basic compared. We put the deco strips on the top of the cabinets before actually hanging them as we did not have any corner cabinets and just straight edges. Worked ok, as our ceiling is super wonky, in an old house, and not at all straight so we had to hang about 5/8 gap below the ceiling. Looks decent enough. Cheers!

This is one of those things where there are a lot of right answers, and it's all a matter of taste. In my kitchen, I put them on "backwards" so the visible parts are square and that beveled edge is hidden. The face of the deco strip is even with the face of the doors, no reveal as here, with the end panels to the top and bottom of the deco strip. That goes better with my Tistorp slab front doors. Easier too! Though I might do it the way you are for shaker-style doors.
Another tip - in a section like this, it will look better if you put a cover panel on BOTH ends, rather than having the cabinet right against the wall. You don't need to use a full panel, just a strip that you cut off one of the ones that shows to fit it to the wall, as long as it has a factory edge. Looks MUCH better with the symmetry.

[90° - 67.5° = 22.5°] For anyone who wants to know why the heck IKEA puts 67.5° degrees instead of 22.5°. It actually is the proper 22.5°... it's because of where they placed the ref' arrows on the angle dimension on their drawing. From the vertical "Y axis" you need to measure a 22.5° angle; but from the funky horizontal "X axis" they referenced (especially since they use the bottom left quadrant (-X, -Y)). The 67.5° is the proper angle from that reference point... (90° - 67.5° = 22.5°) I think they did this so that they do not reference an imaginary line (the extended axis line going into the cabinet) this way they referencing off of the physical cabinet surfaces.. but that's not how your miter saw works.. your miter saw always has a set 0° "Y" axis to reference from! lol Thank You for reading! (Now go do some angle math to see for yourself)

Hi, thank you for the great video, it has helped me a lot with planning the install of the kitchen cabinets, my question is, how far down from the ceiling did you mount the hanging rails, in order to leave enough room for the moulding on top of the cabinets?, it looks like you left a small gap between the the top of the moulding and the ceiling, how much gap did you leave?, please let me know when you can,, thank you,,,

Great question. I have 8' (96") ceilings, so the bottom of the hanging rail was mounted at 92&3/16". Please refer to your Ikea cabinet installation instructions. I also have a video on how to install the Ekoping deco strip at the top. Please like and subscribe. Thanks for the question and for watching!

In metric 3/4 inch is 22mm or 2.2cm.

3/4" is actually 19.05mm or 1.905cm. Thanks for the comment and for watching!

@@MoreBear Although you are right, when fitting side panels and deco strips etc. the magic measurement is the thickness of the door, 18mm plus 4mm which allows for the hinge protrusion. 22mm is the correct distance for fitting the decor strip; anything less and the door will not be aligned with the deco strip/panel. Remember the magic number is 22mm. Deanne, kitchen fitter.

Looks like you got the long panels. The regular ones are the length of the cabinets.

Of course the bevelled surface on the lower deco strip is going to catch dust and grease vapour
