Thank you for a great presentation. Very well done. Continue your work to inform and educate. Thank you again.
Thank you! This is very much appreciated!
Great video 👍 thank you for sharing this review & history.
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
AWESOME review and locomotive history! I think Lionel has really hit a home run with their LionChief Plus 2.0 line of locomotives, they have most of the top of the line Legacy features at a really great price! Thanks for the video, congrats on getting the Berk, and I subbed!
Thanks, Bill! Means a lot! Welcome to the FutureRail family! More content on the way soon!
I’ve been waiting for a review for one of these locomotives! Thank you, Also nice review!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
I have been waiting so long for a video on the LC2 Berkshire, and watching this made it worth the wait. Can’t wait to get my 2716 soon! :D
Great to hear!
Same, I’m getting the Pere Marquette 1225
Great job with the review. Really looking forward to more LC Plus 2.0 steamers. I might have to take a closer look at the Santa Fe version.
Same! I wanted to buy Big Boy but it's just still way too much.
Excellent review, and thank you for uploading this video! It is GREAT to finally see one of these engines in action - I have had this exact model on preorder since June 2019.
I saw you were running this from the Universal Remote (which is how I plan to operate it when the locomotive arrives). Did the whistle quill depending on how long you held down the whistle button on the remote? Also, how is the back-up light on the tender? It's good to see they added some pick-up rollers on the tender as well.
Thank you again for sharing, and glad to hear that you are enjoying the locomotive. And... congrats in advance that you will get to drive the real NKP 765 next month! Good for you! :)
Well unfortunately there is no back-up light on the tender.. For the qulliable whistle I have no control over that. It seems to be random. I'll do some more experimenting when I can. And thank you!
Awesome!
Who saw Optimus Prime in truck mode?
I've decided to start saving for this
You won't regret it.
So it’s very similar to Lionel Berkshire 4101 the only difference is some decals and the whistle
Does this engine have the legacy quilling whistle (this would be my first tmcc equipped engine so I’m not sure)
I believe so yes. The production description says it does.
Yes, you can hear it in this video a small bit.
No lc2 engines have quilling whistles. Got this answer direct from Lionel
@@Andrew-McCormick thanks!
Nice review! I know it’s not a scale model Just think $450+ they could have made the tender a little longer with 3 axle trucks.
Thank you!
Where'd you end up having the number boards done? Also can you switch out the tenders trucks somehow to 3 ax?
I haven't had time to get them done. And as far as I'm aware, you can't.
Wait so the Lionel lionchief 2.0 Berkshires are gonna be released this fall???? Yes!!! I wanted to get a 1225 model for Christmas last year but didn't and got a pacific instead which I was ok with since my favorite steam locomotive is a pacific. I hope I can possibly get one this year despite my only complaint about the Berkshires is I heard they have trouble on curves. But it seems like this model didn't have trouble so I hope to get a 1225 model for christmas this year. But for now I'm gonna wait til I see a video on someone reviewing it since I want to see if the whistle and crew talk is different from 765 and the other locomotives.
The video makes that obvious, does it not? I might invest in a LC 2.0 Polar Express. Who knows? Maybe you'll see it?
@@FutureRailProductions k thx.
I'll keep an eye out and hope that this christmas I'll get a lionel lionchief 2.0 1225 Berkshire. For now I'll stick with my PRR 0-8-0, Santa Fe 4-6-2 pacific this is what is looks like czcams.com/video/I7w_qEcs0Hs/video.html and my thomas model and other train cars and coaches. Even 2 mth ones too.
How are you able to make the whistle sound low to high on the LionChief remote?
It's actually at random. It's just part of the coding I would assume in the command functions. I haven't been able to detect a pattern or create a way for the whistle to be quillling. It's just sort of there... If I had the Legacy or TMCC remote it would probably be a little more controllable.
You should have that lionel lc+2.0 nkp 765 meeting the lionel lioncheif polar express(Pere Marquette 1225)
Maybe for Christmas.
Could you tell me how/where you got your flying number boards? I got this model and could use some lol
Precision Scale Models. I haven't ordered them yet. Too busy. Look in their O scale precision details catalog.
Can’t find these anywhere right now
The Lionel Store has it right now. Link in the description.
Probably gonna buy the universal remote so I won't have to use the Bluetooth app when I get my hands on one of theses Berkshires. 1225 to be precise. The Pere Marquette version not the polar express version.
Awesome!
This is pretty much 1 of only two videos that show an LC2 berkshire in action (the first being an lc2 sneak peek from the Lionel CZcams channel).
Really? Still?!
Yeah.
That's crazy!
It's also available with the Southern Railway road name.
Thank you!
I still wish they had used 3-axle trucks on the tender, but that still looks like a fantastic model
Same. Thanks for watching!
I believe they do, just those are the more expensive versions of the locomotive
When you want a locomotive solely for the whistle
I mean you're not wrong.
what is the pulling power of this engine?
Unfortunately, I don't know. It was able to pull about 15 standard scale cars without issue however, so I'd say it's up there.
does it say Nickel Plate Road 765 on the left or right side of the box the model comes in???
Left if you see the Lionel logo, right if you see the features list on the back. if you're that concerned over a label on a box, I think you have some problems. If you want the model to be the 765, just order it through Lionel. Problem solved.
@@FutureRailProductions um thx.
I just found the question odd is all. Like why would you want to know where the label is?
@@FutureRailProductions Just on the side of the box with price nice and stuff. But I'm sorry I wasted your time over something ridiculous
You did not waste my time. I just found it as odd. That is all.
Wbats the size of your layout
4 ft by 8 ft. Barely enough for two independent loops of track with switches to switch trains onto each loop. The other layout that has the bridge crossing the aisle is my local club layout.
Does it have a LionChief Remote
No. You can only run it in three ways. Legacy/TMCC, Bluetooth App, or the Universal Remote. I say this in the video.
Do review on the LC2 big boy
Can't afford it, but there are plenty of reviews on it already. I recommend this one.
czcams.com/video/-sLXPeDUBa8/video.html&ab_channel=WestChicagoRailroad
It's very expensive I might get a used just lioncheif plus one
That's totally fine. But you're missing out on some great features.
Great reviews I'm not a fan of semiscale though
That's okay. Semi-scale suits me just fine.
@@FutureRailProductions sorry to take so long to get back to you semi scale has its place to
Do you watch Eric's trains???
Yes.
Why do I see some vids of this lionchief 2.0 nickel plate road vids some with chuffing and some with constant fan smoke?
Because this locomotive is a 2.0. The previous generation Berkshires were not. The 767 model that I had(I have since sold it) was the previous gen with the single puff. It only had an operating fan for idle.
@@FutureRailProductions damn I kinda like the chuffing as it started to go ..I’m bidding for one now that’s a 2.0
