I remember I used to find racing tees and rapper tees in the thrift for like 1 or 2 bucks a pop but now these hype beast vintage resellers not only took the fun a satisfaction out of thrifting, they be selling these racing tees, rapper tees, vintage band tees and concert tees for like 2 3 4 hundred bucks on the low end and it’s not even fun anymore. I just turned 40 years old. I was dying of boredom since covid started......and started ordering only the pimpest shirts and jeans from back in the day.
I think I got myself addicted to this stuff. They just don't make clothes like they used to. You couldn't pay me to wear a $100 pair of jeans with bedazzles and all kinds of designs on them from the mall in 2020......butt ugly affliction shirts.
Check out the Vision Street Wear shirts from like 1987-1989. Old movie tee shirts are pretty cool. White men can't jump tees going for like $300 (1992). Saw a pimp arsenio hall shirt for $50 from 1989. Silence of the lamb original tee going for $850.
You can find some cool Quicksilver shirts (ton of them are gay), but the cool ones are just a thing of beauty. I found the coolest looking thundercats tee shirt, favorite cartoon when I was like 6 years old for $45.
Yeah man, sorry for the 3 page comment, but I feel like I have the magic eye for vintage tees and jeans. Levis silvertab are a thing of beauty.
What else. That plain burgundy tee you had on.....that shirt is pimp. You can tell the quality of it from 20 yards away......if you buy a plain burgundy tee from Walmart today, you will look like a loser (no offense to Walmart, I get my food and boxer briefs there).
Anyways, respond to me if ya get a chance with what you think are the coolest tees from the 80's and 90's.
Also the adidas spring/fall jackets from the 70's and 80's are better looking than any brand new adidas jacket you could get in 2020.

Vintage clothing is like antique furniture. More people will always want fresh, new threads styled like worn vintage rather than old dingy threads. Not saying a lot of people don’t want a percentage of their wardrobe to be vintage. Just saying, even people that prefer vintage don’t want all their pieces to be old and dingy. 80’s and 90’s styled clothes that are fresh and new is where it’s at.

When you wash your YSL Jeans - reverse it, put it in a laundry bag you can use to laundry bag to make it thick and not damage the textile. Wash it with the same color or i will recommend it with your beddings, then hang dry it.

@@nonnon5580 As they explained in the vid, the feel, color and shape of the denim changes after being washed. Which is something I don't personally have to worry about, as I don't wear expensive (so I can just replace them, once it looks too ugly ) or raw denim. But that can be a problem, while wearing a premium pair of jeans like SLP and FoG.

    “Connection with the piece”
Alright, so I have a vintage piece I found & It’s a stealers football T-Shirt. The reason it caught my eye in the first place is because of the #26.
The #26 is my favorite #
    So I bought it.
I knew I shouldn’t have being from Texas.
Don’t get me wrong I love the Cowboys.
The the vintage Tee was just so cool.
One day I wear it out.
This dude started asking me about the team.
I don’t know shit about the team.
All I know about is the cowboys.
I was so nervous. I don’t even like talking to people to begin with.
I didn’t think you had to have a connection to a tee before but to never feel like a deer looking into a car headlights. I recommend just wearing a tee you have some sort of relation to.

Try spraying vodka water on the jeans. In the theatre world, costumes get NASTY smelling form all the sweat dancers put them through, but you can't wash them a lot of the time because of beading, vintage, etc. Instead, they spray them with vodka water and dry them. It neutralizes the smell.

Vintage is art. Therefore value and price is subjective. But it is art, so the value potential is there, especially for one of a kid or very rare pieces.

  • @Jt_473
    @Jt_473 Před 4 lety +1

The reason rap tees are high in value is not cause of the quality. Back in the day they were sold in the “streets” and are considered fan art, hence all the different photos put together. So they weren’t official releases and not too many were made so they are hard to come by that’s why they’re so high in price. There’s a lot of re prints out there today so the market is very saturated.

online thrifting for sure, do not overpay is a fact (theres some fire pieces for cheap), wash your damn clothes!!!!, must have a connection of some sort but not a must (although the Harley shirts are a no go to me if you dont ride), mimic vintage is great

Vintage started by people like me . I've been thrifting for over 25 years so to hear guys talking this garbage is crazy. There are no rules to sourcing. Vintage came abiut because of lack of money so you do what needs to be done to find clothes. Some of the best clothes you have to go to ragshps. Videos like this are only beneficial to people who do it as a means to tap into a style instead of making it their way Of life.

How are you going to talk about vintage clothing and not have Brandon in this? That’s the man for vintage

Why not handwash the denim with something like vinegar? Or even just spray the insides with 50% vinegar/water solution. Will definitely get rid of the bacteria causing smells. I don't wear denim, so I don't really know how they react, but I know people who only use vinegar instead of detergents for all laundry. Makes for a much safer and more environmentally safe alternative and has no artificial scents.

If you know about denims, you know you can put it in the freezer and it takes away the bacteria and smell.

Why is this channel still called Richie Le and the collection is called Richie Le when Tan and Johnny are so involved? It doesn't sit right.

With the part about having a connection to the piece, I think that this is a must. Otherwise, why wear something from a long time ago if you don't know anything about it? I wouldn't rock something from Harley Davidson, no matter how vintage it is, because I don't have any interest in bikes. This is the problem with fashion and style today, people will wear anything just to gain clout and relevance. I feel like there has to be a balance. My 2 cents.
