For an alternative to renting suits, Overstock has so many suits for very reasonable prices. My partner and I bought his suit and the suits for his 3 groomsmen, and it cost less than $300 for all 4 suits (jacket, vest, and pants). We got good quality suits, and we have a seamstress in the friend group who gifted us her services to alter the suits.

For any brides who might be buying their glassware, I'm giving mine as the favors! I don't want to take home 70+ glasses home so I'm giving my guests boxes with paper filler so they can take their glasses home with them! This means each person will receive one stemless wine glass and one champagne glass per guest.
Also, the reason why I bought mine is because it's cheaper for my area to buy than rent. Hopefully it gives some of you guys ideas!

Excuse me, I've never heard of The Motion Books and I'm so glad you mentioned it because it sounds like a wonderful thing to have. I might even gift one to my grandparents with my wedding video for Christmas. We're doing a re-do reception type thing because we opted for the elopement ceremony so I feel like you made this video with me in mind because we are exactly 7 months away from the re-do reception.
I had not heard of The Motion Books either! That is so sweet that you may gift one to your grandparents. I'm definitely interested in purchasing one too, and getting them as gifts is such a precious idea!
Perfect timing! Our wedding day is exactly 8 months out from today!! Sunday, June 5th, 2022 in Honolulu, Hawaii. 😊 We don't have much to plan since we have done almost 75% already. We already have our venue (comes with tables, chairs, linen, food, drinks, and dessert), wedding coordinator, photographer, videographer, florist, and decor. I got my wedding dress in July (coming in January) and my husband got his tuxedo in July as well. Just booked our Airbnb, hotel for the wedding day/night, flights, and car rental last month. Sent out save the date cards on October 1st. Will be sending out invitations on January 1st. All we have to do now for this month and next month is book our DJ, officiant, hair & make up, and cake. We will be done wedding planning by December 1st which is 6 months out. We will relax afterwards and I plan to work a lot of overtime at work to pay for the wedding. We are super excited for it. Have been planning our wedding since 2019 and have been married since June 2019. Didn't have our wedding yet. Going to have it on our 3 year wedding anniversary next year. Hopefully things get better in Hawaii 🤞 because right now they are limited to only 10 people inside and 25 people outside for weddings and events. We are having/inviting 92 guests. Most of our family and friends can't make it because it is a destination wedding but we understand. We didn't want to have over 100 guests anyways.

Quick note on hair and makeup in certain geographic areas specific to the COVID boom: book as soon as you can. Book a year out if you can. Everyone in my price range was nearly booked when I went looking for my hair and makeup (in a large Midwestern city) about 10 months in advance.

Jamie I dont know if you will see this, but I love your channel and have watched all your videos. I have one question though that I have not seen you talk about. I am planning for a money dance at my wedding. How do I poliety inform people to bring cash for the dance? Most people dont carry cash anymore, so I cant assume they will bring it with them. Also, I have a quick question-- how do you make all of the reception decor cohesive? I have a vibe that I have in mind, and MANY ideas of what I like, but no idea how to make it cohesive with everything all together.
Maybe with similar colors? Or have something common with each table like candles or a specific floral.

ive literally watched all your videos so sorry if im forgetting if youve answered this already but may i ask what is the purpose of save the dates? lol why do ppl not just send invitations in one go? i would think by 8 months you would already have your date start time and venue? also that motion books sounds absolutely amazing!
Save the dates are so that people can plan travel, but don't need to RSVP yet. You probably won't know the full menu 8 months out and people would need to know what the options are on the RSVP card if you're doing plated :)
Edited to add, additionally people won't know their work schedule that early and they might forget or lose the RSVP card if they have to wait 4 months for their work schedule or if they receive multiple wedding invitations in a row. 6-8 months out you tell them 'hey! I'm getting married this date and city I want you there!' and then 4-8 weeks out you send a "Hey this is really happening, will you be there and what will you want to eat?"

what do you do when your photographer (who has a lot of experience) didn't capture the wedding day to your liking (90% blurry photos, doesn't document the vibe of the wedding, non flattering shots), and you don't have any other documentation of the wedding that you spent a big chunk of $? She even misplaced my earrings, pins & veil which I didn't get a chance to wear.
