In this video, we restore a pair of Ugg boots for the American Pickers star Mike Wolfe. Mike has been one of the host of the long running History Channel series "American Pickers" for 24 seasons. He's also a local to the Nashville area and stopped by our shop to bring us a pair of his biker boots to restore. The boots were starting to come apart, and Mike wanted to toughen them up a bit, so that's what we did.

How are your belts if you open carry with a pancake holster??
hey guys, could you tell me where you purchased the pour-on (probably not spelled right) foam sheet and the thickness? I'd like to purchase some to make some thin insoles to put in my Jordan 1s underneath the existing insoles.
@@jeffhoward7642 I would recommend Kore belts for carry. I own several different brands of belts Anson, Grip6, and Kore. They all have what their best at and in my opinion Kore is best for carry.

I saw in one of your replies that you’re trying new presentation approaches. I know Heath used to be a history teacher so including segments about the history and/or founders of various footwear companies could be an option. I’m a history teacher too so I’d be intrigued by that kind of thing. You guys have been quite influential in my footwear choices the past several years and I know thousands more would say the same. Well done.
I always watch your videos once it drops on Sat. morning. Other folks do their “cars and coffee” ritual but I’ve got my personal T&H and coffee routine before I go run my Saturday chores.

@@christopherflores8244 I would never spend that on a cemented or direct attach boot. I buy the basic Carolina loggers as my throwaway’s . I have Wesco’s and Franks. However a 140 bucks a pair vs 200 for a resole ?

I am amazed each time you get a pair of shoes or boots that were never intended to be rebuilt and you do it anyway! I have done that with old trucks, cars, and some motorcycles over the years. I bought a 65 Triumph Bonneville once. It was all taken apart and in a wooden crate. I was also young and did not know what I did not know. That was a learning curve, but in a painfully good way. So when you did these boots, it hurt, but also it was rewarding at the end. I am 65 now. I just try to keep my vehicles running these days. Same for myself, but it seems I require more maintenance than ever. Again, amazing job you did here!
I stopped by their shop a year or so ago and bought some of their flip flops. There were cameras everywhere taking my picture and videoing me!! They make all their guests feel special!!

One thing that makes a motorcycle boot safe is that ability for the shank to stop the boot bending both ways, incase the boot gets caught on the road while riding. Great video

If you’re trying new things, I’d love a longer format version. Your videos have an ASMR vibe to it, and reminds me of another of my favorite channels “tasting history.” Both informative and relaxing. Cooking is a bit different that shoes, because the content is different every time. So I think it would be cool to see you guys repair shoes that don’t normally get repaired, custom sneakers would be a cool watch.
Is it weird that I like to fall asleep to these videos. Something about boot restoration videos puts me into relax mode
Fun fact: I worked with the woman who, as a child, was the first to lose the tip of a finger on an Easy Bake oven. She was awarded $250k in the late 1960s for her loss. She was a good golfer, excellent CPA and nice person. Love the boot restoration.

A Trenton & Heath made from scratch leather boot would be amazing!! I’d throw $$ at you for a pair. Old school construction & materials ie. leather insole, sewed leather midsole, sewed & glued gemming, glued shank, 270 GY welt, nail shank & glued heel, cork filling, channeled & sewed outsole & quality uppers. If you go with Horween CXL, Seidel Double Shot, Law Bison & CF Stead Waxy Commander uppers plus Dainite, Vibram & Lactae Hevea soles… the boots will fly off the shelves! PS… some Potter & Sons Engineer boots would be ridiculous!!!!!

Hey -- LOL, most everyone wheres some sort of shoe/boot, Mike included! Yep, can see his reasoning and approach -- esp for what he does. The "picking", ya want stability, traction, comfort! The stability, a lil soft in the middle and not sure that even a shank exits ... oh my, that is soft and makes yer feet and calves very tired. Surprising to see the construction; can't help but think/feel he's gotta like this setup a bit better! To me, a nice looking boot -- but they do need to function. Love the work guys and looking forward to possibly some feedback later on. Be Safe Pssssss -- those Anson Belts... their operating thought/factor of selection to mix and match --- just AWESOME!!!! #AnsonBelts

Hello there guys, I thought in the guy’s line of work among junk etc in scrapyards and barns! I would have ask for steel plate in the sole as I do (did worked for the council) removing rubbish, junk and so on to protect me from nails and screws.
I don’t think he’s wearing these picking. Mike has so much money, I’m sure he’s loaded up with plenty of boots. 😉

Did you guys use two different types of glue on the boots? Toluene free for the first part and full, smelly stuff for the soles? Or was it all one type of Barge?

When you drive tacks through the insole of a boot or shoe the tack is bent over by contact with the anvil. Is there anything between the bent over tacks and the wearers foot?

Sumthin in common ,ALMOST,heat lamps..I use the bath room ceiling heat light when I wake in morning dump my big bed time kidney bag.put my small calve bag on..move around easier not a ball and Chain.

It's available in a variety of thicknesses & colours.

Let me tell you, I never understood why ezbake ovens were marketed towards young girls at the time because who the hell wouldn't want on-demand cupcakes? I never did get one.
What on earth is with all of the jump, cuts and flashes and shaky camera stuff. There’s barely a channel left on CZcams. I can actually watch without getting motion sickness. I don’t mind a little bit here and there but it’s gotten to wear if it isn’t constant movement you think it’s bad or something. There’s nothing wrong with having a stationary camera. I don’t need a jump, or a sway, or a flash with every other sentence. I’m running out of channels to watch.
