    It will be interesting to see what others companies will do now. Hoping Marshall release something similar in a 20-30 watt format. A jvm satriani with built in IR’s etc would be epic

    I have to agree with the title...this thing is what the SLO should be aspiring to in 2024. I skipped out on the SLO simply because you don't have access to all of it's capabilities on the floor. 3 channels, but only two of them are footswitchable.
    I REALLY wanna get the Astro 20 right-f'n-now, and I can, but what makes me hesitate is the fact that I get this aching feeling 2024 is about to EXPLODE with so much new and awesome gear, I'm hoping by the time mid-January hits, that maybe a 50 watt, full-sized version gets announced.

      For me the 20 watts is just rite, still too loud to full send at home which is how I use my amps, I have only one full size amp,the mark v 90w havnt plugged into it in over 10 years it's still brand new just want to keep for some reason. I then bought the mini rectifier ,then the Mark v 25, because I only use them for jamming with a drummer in my basement and lower watt amps are still crazy loud through a 4x12 for that, and for recording. I now have 11 lunchbox amps and still looking for another. I'm hooked. They really are loud and full enough for most people these days

    • @electricurinal
      @electricurinal Před 7 měsíci

      I have a mkV:25 and was thinking of doing a similar thing... how's the Fillmore compared to the MkV25? Do you like the Fillmore? Anything suck about it? I love the violin lead tone the MkV25 puts out... but i wish it had a bit more tight & solid low end.

    • @elchacon6304
      @elchacon6304 Před 7 měsíci +1

      I love that the Fillmore has two identical channels with each having 3 settings. I run one on Clean and the other on High. The clean is setup to take distortion pedals and so forth. The High runs on its own and I select it via the footswitch. I'd say that the knobs, especially the presence, seem to not do much. The MarkV:25's knobs are responsive. However, it is very difficult to hear/notice any noticeable difference when, for example, going from1 to 10, especially with the presence knob. The MarkV is more versatile. However, I do enjoy the Fillmore's clean channel warm/clear tones. I don't use its built-in spring reverb. It is too sensitive when the amp is fully cranked.

    How this Soldano Astro-20 watts compare with the EVH 5150iii 50 watts?
    Next question: in a live gig at a medium-size pub with a loud drummer and NO mic on my speakers, could this Soldano Astro-20 watts keep up with a loud drummer in terms of volume?

    I see that this is going to be the buzz for “exciting new amps” coming out from now on - computer connectivity. *yawn* That thing is an absolutely killer sounding amp, but I’m not going to pay the higher prices inherent from something having MIDI, USB, IRs, or any other digital bells and whistles built into it. I’d actually prefer to see them just make a perfect digital SLO (in the style of Fender’s ToneMasters) with all the digital connectivity in it for those who want that.

    $2000 for a 20 watt? May be a great little amp but there are many great higher watt options available.
    These companies keep pricing themselves up and up. Bidenomics perhaps?

    • @Wellcee426
      @Wellcee426 Před 7 měsíci +10

      Inconsistent? Soldano has a great reputation, it’s hand made in the US by boutique amp distro ( same as Friedman, Tone King etc. ) that kinda stuff isn’t cheap these days, don’t blame them blame inflation, cost of parts and availability, labor cost, thats all our fault as a society due to bad policy. Any equivalent amp builder is going to charge $2-4k plus for something like this if its made in US/ Europe/ Australia. You want something cheap and “ equivalent “ you’d have to go Asian and get a Wangs or something/ Jet City and it will not match in quality or warranty likely.

      You high on something that makes you think illogical? Soldano has always been a high end brand and has made some of the best amps ever made for high gain. That's not just my opinion. You must live under a rock or you can't afford one so you hate on them steming from jealousy. My two best guesses as to your problem
