- A Mirror Dinghy originally built in 1969 is restored after years of sitting out in the yard at the original owners' cottage. The boat was offered for free to a good home - the sails and spars which were stored indoors their whole life were like brand new - the hull, not so much...
Great job.
Excellent work! A new lease of life for a classic little boat that has a heart bigger than an it's looks suggest.
They really do have a big heart!

Well done!
Thanks Lockie! Enjoyed the process!!
Nice job Kelly! You did work many would not and I like your choice of hull color for this one.
+Roy Schreyer Thanks Roy - I loved the colour of Brian's Weekender - that's where I got the idea - figured it would go well with the red sails too.
Very nice to see you restore it perfect
+Peter Sanders Thanks Peter! Glad you enjoyed it...the boat still needs some work; finishing details etc but it's sailing again!
Nicely done as well. It's a shame they waited until it was so damaged before giving it away, they probably could have sold it when it was in better shape.
+Martin Heermance - thanks - it probably didn't look too bad upside down until the bow caved in ...
How lovely! We love our mirror :) 63093 - TipSea. What did you call yours?
Nice job, what did you use for the gunwhale?

Gunwale.
Hello i have a question what kind of glue do you use to glue the new parts thanks in advance.
+Mary Jane Ten Have - I use Epoxy - usually West System - although I have used another brand or two as well (East System believe it or not). I normally mix it with Cabosil to thicken it. This stuff is very strong - not easy to sand so you want to smooth it out best you can before it hardens to save you some work later on. I usually also mix in a pinch or two of wood flour for colour. The Cabosil is white - I use some reddish or brown wood flour to turn the epoxy mixture a closer colour to the wood I'm working with.
Thank you very much
Miraculous. Well done. But what's the name of the song?
+David Egloff Thanks David - not sure the name of the song - (it's one of the ones that CZcams offers)
+Can-Am Dinghy Cruising . Found it. It's an instrumental cover of Jakob Dylan's song 6th Avenue Heartbreak. Good choice, good karma.
Thanks! It's a nice piece of music for sure.
