Patoori in Bengal
Thank you
Thank u for bringing this up.
you are bengali no doubt
And you are RIGHT
Masala is raw...
Oh I spotted a geniass.
@@ShwetsKitchenyes just like how I spotted u geniass
Steam on low, medium or high heat? Also do you have to flip it after 5 mins for each side?
Steam on low medium. No flipping required at all. Steaming cooks from all sides equally.
Perfect for people who are dieting cuz this has no masala or oil 😍
And it tastes great
Is this good ?
I thought it was really good. Wasn’t expecting it.
❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
Which brand steamer have u used. And where to buy it
No brand. Just a regular steamer I got on Amazon.

Details of recipe? Fish? Ingredients ?
Fish is our beloved Bhetki. Ingredients is mainly garlic ginger, coriander, green chilli, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper that’s it. Steam it for as long as you need to. And enjoy.
Can we use idli vessel instead of steamer
Absolutely
You should try some sweets recipe
Hmm
What about mawa cake or banana cake i want to eat them very badly but they aren’t available in my city so i am planning to make them but dont know how and i saw some recipe’s on CZcams but they weren’t good or traditional way

There are loads of dessert videos on my channel, these two I had. But will share more in the coming weeks.
@@ShwetsKitchenohh thanks ☺️ will try them for sure
@@ShwetsKitchen yo i have watched this and i forgot lol 😶
What kinda fish is that?
In bengali it’s called bhetki. In most online stores they call it sea bass, which it isn’t. In English I believe this is a barramundi.
How long to marinate it ?
No marination required. Just cook straight away.
How about without that bit oil?
Should work tbh
Is it ok for tuna fiah
Should work perfectly

Looks delicious! Can I wrap it in butter paper instead? I plan on making this regularly for my diet and cannot source banana leaves everytime 😅
Absolutely you can. I tried with butter paper also once. Here’s a video

Hi wat u add into the fish? Y u do the fish so fast?
Not very good video because this lady never tell us what she put inside the fish thumb 👇
The lady tried. Nobody watched those videos. But for some reason people see these.
Filet of any firm white fish
Green chilli - as much or as little as you like
A bunch of fresh coriander leaves
Salt
Crushed ginger and garlic
Squeeze of half a lime
Some olive oil
Massage on to the fish. Wrap in banana leaf and steam for 10 mins.
Ungrateful mosquitos.
Thanks for the recipe.
Anyone with any experience. Even the slightest experience. In the kitchen. Can tell what you put into the mixer before grinding.
That masala not cooked 😂 i can tell that for sure
It was perfect actually.
I mean not dat those masalas can't be eaten raw... The fresher the green the better the flavour... N the fish is well cooked so rest dont matter
@@swastikasarkar6052 it was surprising actually. I wasn’t expecting it to taste very good and the green to stay green.
@@ShwetsKitchen try the mustard and poppy seeds version of this... U might really like it ..
There's a channel named Bong eats they've a detailed video on it showing 3 to 4 variations of dat... Do give it a try...
Btw I tried ur recipe n I didn't have a steamer so I kinda did a lil jugad 😂...but yea it was really good my mom .. especially the lemon I might have squeezed a bit much but it was lovely for the hot day..like refreshing loved it thnk u for sharing 🖤
@@swastikasarkar6052 I’m bengali too. And that’s my favourite. Simple paturi
what fish is that ?
It’s baramundi. But you can use any fish with white firm flaky texture
which steamer? please show it
It’s a simple one but is very versatile and inexpensive amzn.eu/d/158XZec
Which fish have you used
This was sea bass
Pepes?
What’s that
We call it paturi in bengali. So similar.
I don't know how to describe it, pepes is our traditional dish which consists of fish (various types of fish) with spices warp in banana leaves, some are just steamed, some are just grilled, some are steamed and then grilled. When I saw this recipe my first thought was there a pepes recipe from a foreign country? Ours is quite spicy, I'll give you a video link from YT if you're curious

Its not called steamed fish. Its called Macher Paturi in bengal. It’s a Bengali dish . At least have the decency to give credit.
This isn’t really paturi. I have paturi recipe on my channel. czcams.com/users/shortsbW7QlOU2SzA?si=thyzu5ZKM_sks0qa

@@ShwetsKitchen😂😂😂how rude
But in steaming the ingredient doesn't get cooked it remains raw in taste , how to eat uncooked ingredient? It's harmful for stomach.
Where did you possibly get this absolutely inaccurate info
@@ShwetsKitchen 🙄hope you also goes to hotel some times to eat the food where they serve steam food item like fish wrapped with uncooked spices on upper surface of fish which always remains uncooked in taste...
I personaly even tried making this kinda fish but after steam fish turns out fully cooked but outer masala remains uncooked in taste.
@a.k0909 steam cooks from all angles. But you are right sometimes restaurants keep food in freezer and directly put it in steamer. In such cases, food won’t completely cook. Take the safe way out, go to places you trust or cook like our moms always did.
@@ShwetsKitchen sadly none of restaurants cooking they way we cook at home or cook like mom 🤦.... but my personal experience e with boiled chicken was something like that ( an uncooked spices ) .
What if no banana leaf?
I’ve had that problem once, wrap it in baking paper, that too will work perfectly
How about foil paper?
@Chankeypathak works perfectly
@Chankeypathak you can try but chances of it getting torn is high and you want to steam it inside
Which fish is this ?
In bengali it’s called Bhetki, and Barramundi in English. you can use sea bass or any firm white flesh fish.
