    Welcome to my Revell 1:144 Ed Force One build. After the long haul of my WW1 diorama, I wanted something quick and easy to do, to get my modelling mojo back.....oh dear!! I really should have picked something else from my stash!! Here's why!!
    It would be totally be acceptable to think that this kit is a 2016 moulding from Revell, the dates on the box is 2016, it's the newer style box, brand new decals, but buyer beware, this is a reboxing of their 1993 kit, and it shows. I'm not saying that every copy will be as bad as mine if you have one in your stash, but I was in two minds whether or not to use the decals on another company's kit, it was that bad!! There was thick flash on nearly all of the large components, the left side of the fuselage was badly warped, and the left wings needed major cutting and sanding just to join together half decent!! But as this was a gift from my wife I decided to push on with the build.
    As I've said before I'm not the best modeller, but I did my best, through much gritted teeth and bad language, but I'm happy enough with the final product, and at least I 've got my own Ed Force One now!!
    Many thanks for watching, I hope you all get some hints from this before your build, and a massive THANK YOU to my new subscribers.
    Music: The Wicker Man, performed by Powerslave UK, an Iron Maiden tribute I was once in, here playing lead guitar.

      @@FalkeEins The Fw190 is going to be my modelling project for 2022. I'm going to look at PE and after market sets, as I think the cockpit is way too basic for a model kit this size.

      @@AdrianBowerProject in terms of after-market, I'm not sure there is a lot for this kit. I got some resin sets from a guy in the US but that was to convert it to an A-8. I'm tempted to build along with you ..if interested?

      @@FalkeEins Just looked into it, there is a resin cockpit you can get, but I don't think it's worth the money. There are a couple of PE sets (dials and seatbelts) which I'm going to get, anything else I might just scratch build, but I'll see what mood I'm in, at the minute it's going to be more or less straight out the box.

    Good job Adrian. End product looks fantastic. Great lead work on the cover and a hell of a good one to. I am a bassist myself and i do almost everything from Steve Harris. He signed my bass on the Book of souls tour South Africa in 2016. Great job and i have ordered my kit to build and display in my studio. Greetings out of South Africa.

      Thank you Leon, very much appreciated!! And thank you for the compliments on my lead work, I'm still waiting for Maiden to give Janick the boot and have me in instead, I used to play his parts in the Maiden tribute (Powerslave UK) I was in!! Hahaha!! I can only hope!! I hope your kit is a better moulding than mine, it was a bit of a pig, but looks great when finished, just remember to put plenty of weight in the nose or you'll have a tail sitter!! :-)

    Brilliant work mate,working on the same build. The color on the wings confuse me a bit. They are different on every build I see.

      Thank you Bruce!! Yes, it was a lot more work than I anticipated, but that's how these pre-2000 kits go. My next project will be a diorama with Revell's HMS Bounty, and I know for a fact that kit is a flash monster too!!

    Great build and it ooks awesome. I always looks at that kit, and I normally want to build it in future. But I was a liitle bit afraid about the quality of this old Revell kit. And it seems I was right. There was a lot of correction by you necessary.

      @AdrianBowerProject  Před 4 lety +1

      Many thanks Modellbau Goaly!! Yes, there was on my version of the kit. I have seen others on youtube that didn't seem to have the same problems as myself, so I might have just been unlucky in getting a bad mould. The only issue I've seen which is consistent on the kits is the bad fit of the piece underneath the fuselage that houses the main landing gear, every video I've seen shows it needs major filling and sanding, but if you're willing to put the time in, you'll get a really nice static model of Ed Force One!!

      I´m building this kit at the moment, and it needs tons of filler to match almost every sectionhalf to the other. Its interesting thar Revell has never made a good boat- or aircraftmodel, but their cars and trucks are among the very best.

      Thanks for watching and commenting Nallpeter!! Yes, it's a bit filler greedy this kit, but it's a re-box of their original 747-400 kit, back when Revell was a bit of a dirty word in modelling circles. However their new tooled kits are very good and seem to have caught up. You just have to be careful though, cos recently they have a habit of putting "NEW" on the boxes, and they are, again re-boxed older kits just with new paint schemes and decals.

      @@AdrianBowerProject Thats true.Revell the whole company is almost out of money...and been sold to another firm...Thats why some modells are no longer on the market.This year they released a big version of the USS Enterprise C-65 in 1;400 or so as a limeted edition,also there is a rebox of the 1:400 Titanic,with light and sound effects..However there is also Revell US which have a totally other backcatalog like in Europe.. strange business however it is the same with Airfix...
