I am an educator. I am burned out, overworked, underpaid, and stressed. I love my children, but the classroom is no longer an emotionally safe place for me. It is time for me to "teach" my children alternatively. I am ready to write. Your video is such a blessing to me. Thank you!

It's 2022 at time of writing. I find the video helpful. I wish I could draw well enough to illustrate my own children's books. Great job and beautiful illustrations. Color me happy and all those who God made. The message is we are all God's children and special in His sight.

Thank you for this inspiring video. I'm a senior citizen and I needed someone to give me a boost and simple instructions regarding self-publishing. I've written six children's books and they have been on the shelf for over a year because I have been afraid. As you know most seniors citizens are a little intimidated when it comes to modern technology, however I've solicited the help of my daughter to help me move forward with publishing. I just purchased your book and looking forward to reading and learning from your excellent example again thank you.

There's no such thing as an idea being too big. You just have to know what size chunks ro divide it into and how to express it. Kudos to you for your tenacity.
Wow..... much respect to you. I just completed 3 children’s book with no pictures. I won’t make that mistake again. My brother who is also a teacher just completed a children’s book for children of colour . He is also an illustrator. I will forward your video to him. 👍🏾

WOW, Mr Travis! You really touched my heart with the story of "WHY" you wrote your book! It is a truly amazing achievement! I have always wanted to write, and illustrate my very own children's book, and recently (after writing one) I looked into publishing info to find out what the specs were for the illustration work. Great video, thank you for sharing your experience! I just published my second book with Createspace, so I completely understand the frustrations you had with them. Printing my first book was an absolute nightmare. I only went with them again because at least I knew what hurdles I would have to jump before I got to them.

I am about to get started and you have me totally motivated. I just got an Ipad pro and pen and procreate yesterday, its a bit of a learning curve but I am getting it. I am use to illustrating by hand or in 3D (paper clay sculpture). Thanks for the awesome video.

Thank you for the inspirational video. I just purchased my iPad pro 12.9 inch and I am geeked to get started on my children's book. Like you, I have had the idea for awhile. Thank you for the font info as well. Procreate now does charge a one time $10 fee but IMO it is sooooo worth it. Keep creating.

Hello Travis. I wish I had seen this video before I worked with the publisher who published my book in 2018. She went through both of the companies that you mentioned. I believe she dropped one of them because they wouldn't let us print the book 8 1/2 x 11 inches. I think it was Create Space. But, I think I'm going to revise my book because it is rather long for a picture book, and self-publish it myself. I will reach out to you in the future. Great video!

I’m still busy drawing my first children’s book. I also draw and write myself in Clip Studio Paint on Wacom Cintiq 16.
It takes some time but I’m determined to get it finished soon.

Fantastic video. I really enjoyed it. Going through the publishing process now. I have seen mixed reviews about both companies. How easy something is on one which ended up not easy at all. I guess after the first time it isn’t as bad. My children’s book was a couple years in the making and I wish I had any artistic talent for illustrations. I did all my editing too and yes, doing it all is an endeavor. Congratulations. Your book is wonderful and the video honest and fantastic. Thank you so much for posting it.
