I feel like I could disarm a bomb if I had Marshall talking me through it
Exactly! Lmao
I'm really disappointed that I haven't seen any comments on Marshall's cylinders-as-boxes explanation. It was amazingly explained, and contributed something of tremendous value. Thanks so much!
Controlling your cylinders by creating boxes to define planes . . . something so simple yet so mind-blowing at the same time! You guys are amazing!
Thinking inside of box.
Damn, Marshall's pretty slick.
Marshalls cylinder-box relationship explanation is fantastic. Thank you! Oh and the accents were fun!
The best of any figure drawing instruction anywhere on you tube. The detail of explanation is so instructive.
Best free version anywhere on the Internet!!!
What an awesome explanation about the benefits of making box forms. Marshall is a great teacher besides an great artist. Thanks Stan!
Marshall! you are such a good voice actor!
Awsome critiques Stan and Marshall, thanks!
Me: *sees first one* Damn those are perfect!
Them: "These aren't structural yet"
Me: oh
it was almost just contours no construction or gesture stuff (well there was gesture actually)
and that makes it look like you traced that drawing or just look at the reference picture you had and drew the lines one by one which improves you very slowly drawing
It's been 6 months since this comment and now I DEFINITELY see what they were trying to say.
These critiques are very helpful! I'm even more grateful you guys put videos every week.
I really appreciate the work you guys are doing.
Stan and Marshall, I can't thank you enough for your video explanations and critiques now I draw every day with pleasure and understanding.
omg the voices are everything!! made my day
Lmfao The way he switched Accents!
One of the best episode! Thank You very much!
I bought the perspective stuff from Marshall. Please do more videos with him and Glen Vilppu.
Love all your videos! This one in particular has been very helpful.
Thank you a lot for this video! Please keep doing crits. Doing crits for others and for us to see helps everyone!
Thanks proko for all lessons
Thank you so much guys !!!
You cant even imagine how much you are helping me :)
please, keep it up
Cheers from Colombia :D
More videos with Marshall please~!
You guys are great! Just saved my life.
Very nice, I always watch your videos, they r great!
amazing episode !
Marshall's the best
Y’all really great at this.
Marshall's cylinder-to-box explanation was helpful. I learned figure construction this way but illustrators get lazy & just draw contour bc it's faster & fine for small works. But in my larger fine art (paintings & charcoal) my figures look better when constructed Marshall + Proko way
Helped a lot. Thanks for Great videos.
hey proko thanks for your videos and great effort that u put in these videos , am wondering if you're going to make a figure drawing demo like how do u approach it from start to finish btw the Critiques are super cool
I'm an italian "amateur", and I truly like these lessons. Thank you very much. :)
I laughed so much when the screen flipped for the left-handed pencil hold question!! HAHAHA
Marshall, I am adopting u XD god do I wish more of us had access to an amazing teacher in person. I can only imagine how cool it would be to either one of their students
Maestros!!
Very useful !
Marshal's voice is so fun to listen to XD
Vandruff and proko are like the Breaking Bad of Art
Following on the question on how holding the pencil affects your lines, how does that follow through when you're doing digital stuff?
Marshall is one smart guy. Think box first to avoid sloppiness. Then use angles for cylinders and cross contours. I've never heard anyone talk like that.
i cant stop thinking of the funny moment when stan says "marshall art thats like a " :)) thats what i was thinking
Очень круто! Большое спасибо.
Damn, is Marshall a part time voice actor, too???
hi, I'm big fan of your channel, I love it so much, but I have 2 questions I want to ask you:
The first thing I notice is that gesture is very important, so the first must do thing is capturing the gesture. But after that, I'm really confuse between manequinization, landmark adding and robo bean. I mean I don't know which is necessary and which is not, and the use case of those 3. Should I use all of those 3 in every drawing or some time use this one, some time not? I hope you can clear this part for me so we will know how to put all your lesson together in one drawing.
Also, the second one I would like to ask is could you do a full time laps of your drawing for a full body model? In this way we can see how it is started and how it is finished in complete. I know this will be too much for most of us to learn but I just really want to see the big picture, that how we can combine everything we learn from your channel to one. Maybe now we can't see it all but time by time, with your channel, we can look back and clear things more and more and I think that is an very effective way to learn.
Thank you for reading this and your hard work
I have the same doubt. I mean, how are we supposed to use them? Should I start with gesture or not? That's confusing :z
the gesture part is clear for me, you must always do the gesture, it tells the story. It is the "getting to detail" that gets me confused
So gesture is used as a draft?
+Le tuan linh I can answer that, what they are teaching you here are tools to use for solving problems within you drawings, you don't have to use all of them in every one of your drawings, but once you learn how to use them they can help you with perspective or the structure of a person within the drawing etc. You may even draw all of the body correctly, but you're having some troubles with the foreshortening of the arm, so then it's a handy trick to use the simplified structure technique to conquer the issue. There are artist that know anatomy so well the needn't use any of these techniques, not even the gesture drawing (though these artists are few and far between).
Keith Rowsell thank you for your reply. I figured it out after a lot of practicing.
yaaaaaaaaaaaar another thumbs up!
11:00 Best accent ever
The right and left hand difference he showed was AWESOME XD lol. Love from India
very good
Thanks proko can u plz teach how to make fashion figures plz plz
What was that black thing on stans hand?
pretty sure it's a smudge guard. they're drawing on a giant touch screen, so the smudge guard can prevent handprints and such on the screen.
Cool.
Funny Teaching..Thanks~!
Hey, Stan, with the pencil holding thing....what if my hand shakes horribly?
Carbon2861996 i think you should relax your hands more.
Have a chicken sandwich, have a nap, do some stretches, take a deep breath.
Then focus and try again :)
is...that cintiq the size of a table? wow
Wait wait wait is he also reading the narrator of "The Stanley Parable"? XD
WHAT AN ACCENT XD
Proko.. I'm using a .05 mechanical pencil, when I lay it down on it's side I get the same thickness line,ba da bing..
the guy is the stanley parable narrator
kind of looks like decaprio.
Their so mentally strong
Чудесные уроки. И как жаль, что их нет на русском....
Is this uncle Vessemir??
MartialArt
Yo Stan! It is difficult to see your black pen demonstration while you are wearing a black glove and a black shirt. Think values Stan.
My Gesture looks great, but the details look shit
Being left handed didn't bother...DuhflippinVincheee!!!! (clutches pearls). However; don't be too quick to patronize the slog through existence that is the plight of the left handed. Especially when you consider the creative edge, not thinking like y'all has for us. (in most circumstances, and under encouraging conditions, some assembly required.)
to much critiques.
