Today I've been experimenting again with alcohol inks and glassine paper
I had an idea in my head about vintage tape I was using the washi tape I got from Amazon in my previous video when making Masterboards that was cool but I needed more grunge lol
I knew you could make faux washi tape using the double sided tape method but I've never seen it using glassine paper

So, silly me! I thought, “I’ll get comfy and cut out some Tracy Fox labels while watching Toni make glassine Washi tape,” but I was so captivated as soon as you put alcohol ink on that glassine paper, I couldn’t cut straight!! lol! I’m gonna have to reprint all the labels - but wait - no I don’t! I now know (from your videos) how to make my own!! Wham, Bam, Thank YOU ma’am, indeed!! 🎉🎉😂😂

Making faux washi is the best! Now you've added to the arsenal by using glassine. Because I despise using regular tape to do this. It always rips wonky. At least for me. 🤷🏻♀️🤣 I'll be starting this 1st thing in the morning. 😊 oh wanted to add, the red is totally cool, try adding the sepia or mushroom to it to grunge it up. Tim has said mushroom makes every color "dirty" 🤣🤣
I love the effect you get with mushroom it's such a cool colour 😍 and definitely easier with glassine paper have fun creating and thank you so much ☺️
Super cool version of faux washi! 😀Although I’ve decorated glassine paper and glued it on, it IS nice to have them sticky and ready. Just like washi! 👏🏼 tfs🧡

Oh, these are GREAT! I've done this with spray inks and then did some stamping and marking on there, too. I hoard them now, lol. Yes, I just need to make more and definitely will try the alcohol inks. I ADORE your excitement - it's just how I get, too. :) Great video!

Oh wow, Toni! So much fun & your enthusiasm is contagious! I’ve been looking for info on faux tape for a while & yours just popped up! It really looks great & aged! I think all the colors are fab, even the red! Some can be more like washi tape & less like “aged” tape! I wonder in the year since this video, do you have additional thought or hints? Oh, I just remembered something I saw Tim Holtz do, when discussing alcohol inks. He recommends giving the bottles a little thump on the table before capping them. It makes an airlock or something & they won’t leak. I haven’t used any, though, so I don’t know from experience.❤

Right, now to find glassine paper so I can give this a go…I bought an old frame with a print still in it, I only needed the frame but I found that I also had acquired some lovely grungy masking tape which I’ve hoarded🤣 my family thinks I’m totally mad for the things that make me so happy and excited😅
I have some deli paper and parchment paper here at home. I’m going to experiment with those. I’m too excited and therefore impatient to wait for glassine paper

Toni, this is truly inventive! Can you make hole reinforcers with this technique? There's so much one can do with this! We should call this the Tonitape Technique. I really like how the glassine paper is somewhat transparent and also how you can tear it and have a rough edge. That's just great! Love it! 💗

Hi, Toni - just this morning before I watched this video I ordered clear vinyl sticker paper to make "vintage" tape! So, tomorrow when it comes I'm going to try this version and that version side by side. :) And I am sure my hands will be just as inky!

Would be cool to add some stamping with archival in on top of your base colour or the alcohol lift ink! I’ve done this with shiny scotch tape but I also love that yours has a bit of a matt shine or a semigloss look. Very cool can’t wait to try it! Do you hear me shouting ideas across the pond during these videos as I watch them. Lol. I’m in Canada shouting ideas from my lazy boy chair as I recover from a broken knee and ankle from a fall. I’m excited to try this when I’m up and about. It’s videos like yours that have helped me so much get through this forced inactivity. So I really appreciate it!
Is glasine paper the same as what we call waxed paper in Canada…..I’m thinking it looks similar.

I just watched this video again and just love it. I was thinking, what about putting the blending solution in a small spray bottle with a fine mist and spray it on instead of dropping? I'm going to go get the supplies today so I will see how it goes. I'll send you pics.

I love vintage tape!! Love it! Have you seen how they make it on the CZcams channel “Which Craft Do U Do”? Even faster and easier. You can totally use the double sided tape, or you can not add tape and use glue on the back! I like the alcohol ink combo of sepia, butterscotch, and honeycomb! So many different ways you can do this! I also like to use some of the metallic gold here and there because it looks so cool in some journals. Can’t wait to see this evolve. I think this is the first of many videos on this. Keep them coming!! LOVE IT

Can you put glassine paper in the printer?
I honestly don't know maybe if you adhered it with temporary adhesive to some paper but it still might smear the ink coming through the printer
