- Today we are taking a look at the Fitinhot Handheld Welding Machine. while it is designed to be hand held, it does come with an electrode holder so you can use it like a traditional stick welder also. Does it pass the test? how is it welding handheld?
This machine was sent to me at no cost by the manufacturer. My opinions and views on this machine are unbiased and my own, as always.

thanks for great video review, ideas, description and points of view
You Bet! Thanks for watching 🤘
good to see you can use 6013 3/16 i could not weld with that thick of a rod. I dont stick weld either.
I could definitely use some more practice, but I’m passable for most of my stick welding needs!
what gauge extension cord would be advised for this unit ?
Do u always weld without protective wear?
What are all those colored lights back there behind you?
Just an addressable LED strip running off FastLED on an Arduino Nano. Was playing with it for some electronics projects. Another one of my interests I wish I had more time for 😂
Can you review the battery powered one?
I’ll look into it for a potential future video. Thanks for the suggestion!
Some inventions are prototypes of something that will be good when it's not cheap
Very true. There is also the “this is the way we have always done it” factor with a lot of things.
Hi! Thanks for this interesting video 👍. I live in a RV and I am looking for a small (but usable enough) welder machine that I could Hook up to my 2200w Honda generator. I know this is not very powerful but is there anything out there thatb could fit those limitations? Thank you ! 🙏
I would look into the Simder Arc-200s. It really is a great little machine in a more traditional form factor, and has more features such as hot start and arc force. Here is my video on it czcams.com/video/XC3ioujpHXI/video.html
@@GarageHobbyist wow thank you so much mate 👍. Have a blessed day!
So, from what you said my 30amp generator wont run this at the deer lease?
It should
These seem gimmicky but i derby and I do think this would have its place in the pits at a derby for a quick repair maybe but I wouldn’t want to use this for more than a quick fix
They kind of are. I don’t find it particularly practical, but it does work
The changing of amos while arcing can ruin the mechanism
Thank you for the review of these handheld welders. This allowed me to make a choice to never buy one of these. I prefer the traditional stick welders.
Thanks for watching. They are different, that's for sure!
You can gety a traditonal style Dekpro 200 for about the same money and it is 120/220. Did he say 43 amp input 120v? Biggest 120 breaker I have seen is 30 amp I think. And I have not seen a standard 3 prong receptacle for over 20 amps I think.
Hello sir
Hello there
That one is too huge, i got the one battery operated one is less cumbersome, and it has got me out off a few pinches, my gate got busted and i could mend the damn thing before any city inspector sneaked up and started snooping around, is good to build thingis around the house, which is the intended purpose.
A battery operated one would be interested to try out. I think that would be much more useful
I don't get it, how are you gonna get more than 20a at most from your average garage outlet at 110V ?
My question exactly! Unfortunately, it looks like the poster doesn't bother with answering questions once a video has been up a while.
You need to look up inverters and electricity conversion charts from output amps and input amperage at 110/120 220/240 volts ..
It's not that difficult, but to shorten it up a dedicated 20 amp circuit can run a typical mig welder around 130 amps. A 15 amp breaker circuit around 110 output amps.
This number varies depending upon the welder and gauge of wire in your circuit. Refer to the manufacturer of course
Thanks for your reply. Not being an electrician I just naturally assumed a 2O amp circuit is safe to draw 20 amps from ( although I am aware that they recommend running 20% less for continuous use.) To the uninitiated (like myself) looking at the large amount of amps this thing draws would suggest a much larger circuit would be required.
@@curiouscharacter1 no problem, I can see how it could be confusing.
not a good review if you don't show a close up of the weld...what were you thinking?: that's what everyone want to see! also please explain to your audience how you can get 45amps out of a 120v plug???: never....
I used to use a bigger one that came prepared like that one with a regular plug 90 amps it'd overheat so I put a huge boiler fan., then someone broke into my basement and stole all my stuff, I got paid by the ins double but didn't purchased anything back.
Without wearing protectve wear can u say skin cancer?
JUST SAY NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you think this is enough to weld 1/8 inch steel?
Yeah, it should do that no problem
@@GarageHobbyist thanks
