Looking at this excavator myself.. i know it a cheap Chinese machine but ultimately for the smaller domestic jobs on my own property it makes a very appealing option... and thanks for the great content..

I have a 1,000lb, 4000lb and a 9500lb Chinese excavator. They are all solid and very easy to work on if anything happens. Have had minimal issues on all of mine

We used to have a 1950 Cat D8 2U model that was a crank start gasoline pony motor. The pony motor was used to turn over the main engine. Andrew reminds me of the good old days trying to get that pony motor to fire.
That's how I like to start my log splitter and I guess that is why I have to buy a new pull cord every two years... What I am trying to tell you is, I approve.

An electric start kit for that 13.5hp Briggs & Stratton is about $225. I'd think that's an upgrade right up your alley.
They come with an electric start already. I think he's just testing out the pull start
A short about electric starting an excavator would generate slightly less interest.
