Quentin Tarantinovich Hi Q, It's personal preference. I play in a session at the Hilden brewery and hardly any of the players drink beer, most drink water. The bar manager seems happy with this though. Our session plays many of these tunes and at the same speed - it's nice to play along with this video.
Clive I know you mean well, but it is like ha ha families ruined by alcoholism for generations ha ha - one of the less fun parts of Irish culture. Luckily things are slowly changing.

Some people take a drink when playing. I never do. It's only practice that's necessary
You'll notice that most glasses on the central table are filled with water :)
